He is better suited for small groups and has more privacy. Easy drive right to the campsite There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, the weather can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add that this is not completely private. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will also end a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Close to the U.S. National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.My campsite is not entirely private. The campsite is conveniently located near the US National Whitewater Center (offering mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (featuring horseback riding and historical attractions), and Crowders Mountain (ideal for hiking). It is just 3 miles off I-85 and US-321 for those passing through.

We had an amazing stay. The waterfall was absolutely the highlight—being able to relax, cook, sit by the fire, and fall asleep surrounded by the sound of running water made the whole trip feel like a real getaway. The campsite was spacious enough for our large tent, awning, cooking setup, and SUV while still feeling private and tucked away in nature. What really stood out was Scott as a host. Storms in weren't really in the forecast, but after seeing lightning strike he proactively reached out to us about the creek and water levels to make sure we were aware and safe. That kind of communication and concern for his guests was greatly appreciated, especially since we did end up getting a pretty serious thunderstorm during our stay. Between the waterfall, privacy, beautiful surroundings, plenty of space, and a host who genuinely looks out for his guests, this was exactly the camping experience we wanted. We made some great memories here and would absolutely come back. Highly recommended!

Our favorite camp site in our area! Lots of shade and the waterfall is so lovely to listen to. Pond is clean and loved swimming in it all day. The cherry on top is the new shower!

A great getaway just outside of CLT

What we didn’t realize is that we had this entire space to ourselves and the host had thought of everything. We had a clean, good smelling porta potty, a shower, grill with a propane tank, fire pit, small shed with tools like a rake to prepare our tent area, two swinging porch type swing overlooking the water fall and a picnic table. The host is very friendly and helpful. The water levels are low. But that is every where this summer. We had a great time and will come back.

Scott was amazing! Our girls trip was so nice! The sound of the river/waterfall was perfect. We brought a waterproof/sand proof beach blanket and sun-bathed on top of the waterfall. We will be back. Going to make it an annual girls trip!

This is such a great site! So spacious and relaxing. The host was very friendly and helpful. We brought our 3 large dogs and they had the best time too. Can't wait to come back and camp here again.

This spot is amazing and Scott is a wonderful host! There was plenty of space for our dogs to run and we spent hours in the water. The amenities with this site are top notch! A shower, propane and charcoal grill, shed stocked with tools, water toys and more. We had an AWESOME weekend! Book while you have the chance.

This campsite is unreal! Excellent for beginners and a dream for seasoned campers. Scott is very accommodating and the site is well equipped - great grill set up and a newly added shower! Spent hours hanging out in the pool below the waterfall, it’s so comfortable (grab the floaties we left from the shed!) and has a surprising amount of fish. We’ll definitely be back! 10/10

Wonderful site with a wonderful owner. He was so friendly and accommodating. This is a magical place. I’ve got three kids and the water didn’t go above shoulder height, which made me feel safer. My kids spent the whole time sliding down the waterfall with their tubes over and over again. My dog was so happy the whole time he unfortunately got “limber tail” from wagging it too much and jumping in the water lol thankfully that won’t last but a few days. This is the best Hipcamp I have ever been too, and I’ve been to a bunch! Two swinging benches, a fire pit, plenty of room for a tent or multiple tents if needed, a grill, a porta potty that was clean!, we paid a bit extra to feed the chickens and the goats! Just a marvelous time and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!

We absolutely love renting out this spot. We have now for four year in a row. Sometimes twice a summer. It’s secluded and so quiet. The kids have a great time tubing down the falls. Entertainment for hours!!

Great camping spot! This was a return visit, I would have come back sooner if it wasn’t always booked (book now, you won’t regret it). The area is easily accessed, yet feels more like a primitive camp site rather than private property. The owner was very helpful bringing a crate of wood down on short notice. Dogs had a blast! This was an extremely hot weekend and unfortunately there hadn’t been any rain for a while so the creek so low, so not much of a waterfall unlike my previous visit; however, the water was still deep enough for the dogs to swim all day and for me to cool off. I will definitely be back again if there’s ever any availability! Thanks Scott for sharing your gem with hip campers!

Lovely campsite, cool water

We enjoyed tent camping near the waterfall. The ground is sandy, perfect for no lumps under the tent. A rake was in the shed, so we were able to clear the area under out tent quite easily. There is plenty of shade to stay cool as well as sunny spots. The pool below the falls is cool and flowing. A perfect temperature to cool of in on our late June trip. Scott was helpful and friendly when he delivered firewood and responded quickly to messages we sent. We would love to stay here again soon.

First Hipcamp experience. Scott was a great host and the site was just as pictured. Definitely recommend water shoes for the waterfall area. The site also has a lot of sand, I would have liked to have a pair of boots or closed shoe to wear when I was done with sand on my feet. Not a bad thing, just good to know. The sand helped keep the area clean when it rained so it wasn’t a muddy mess after which also was great. The Swings were nice. Charcoal and propane grill were nice luxuries as well. The portapotty was very clean upon arrival and had TP and hand sanitizer inside. Scott brought us firewood for an extra fee and was very helpful and friendly in every way. Solar charger works well for basic charging needs ( small electronics or rechargeable fans). Close proximity to gas station, grocery and other necessities. Book this site, you will not regret it!! We will be back.

This is by far the best place we’ve visited in NC! We absolutely loved the entire experience. Everything was spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully cared for. Ideal Group Site

Amazing site. Incredibly unique and special. Nothing like having a whole set of waterfalls and swimming hole to yourself. Lots of parking and room to set up tents, easy access, clean porta potty, comfortable swings, table, fire pit. Lots of fire starting material from the sycamores on site. Only 10 minutes or less from local stores and restaurants if you forget anything (we actually forgot a tent somehow). We got invited by our friends and would definitely book this site again.

Pulling up, I thought we got scammed, I was like, “there’s no way there’s a waterfall here”, there is. It’s beautiful and natural white noise. Lots of nature and wildlife around, saw some pretty cool owls and hawks. Host was kind, has a cool history here. We went to the white water rafting center for some live music (40min drive)

This was our 2nd Annual Family Camp-Out on Scott's beautiful site. We absolutely love it here. And this year, the fish were hungry. As the grandmother of my clan, it's an absolute joy to watch my family fish, hunt rocks, roast marshmallows, & just interact out in nature. I couldn't ask for a better place for my family to gather & I'm already excited for next year.

The Best Camping Trip EVER

10/10 night. Hands down THE best camping experience ever. This place had everything you need as a foundation for camping. My son probably caught 30+ fish day one. It's clean, it's spacious, it has both a propane grill and a charcoal grill and not to mention a huge firepit with grates if you choose to cook on an open flame. Marshmallows forks, picnic table, two large swings, sandy ground for us tent sleepers and an added Porta John which I personally appreciated. Scott is amazing. The waterfall is fantastic (yes, go ahead and slide down). Absolutely the best.

I loved camping here . The waterfall was relaxing all night and perfect for the night. Loved having a grill and being able to use the fire for s’mores . Scott was very quick to answer my questions when I had. We will definitely be coming back here for another time. 😊

Beautiful spot, and the white noise of the waterfall was a delight to sleep to! It’s a large space, and made me feel very alone as I was by myself. Highly recommend for groups.
