The base camp is nestled in the heart of Uwharrie National Forest, conveniently positioned across from the Eldorado Outpost, which serves as the permitting center and recreational hub for the Uwharrie area. Directly across from the base camp, you'll find fuel, a restaurant, and all necessary camping provisions, all within easy walking distance. Our base camp offers several designated areas for boondocking or setting up a full overland camp. Basecamp Uwharrie

We visit uwharrie a few times a year and have for years now, and this was by far the best stay we’ve had up there.. the camping spot can be seen from the road, but it’s several hundred feet back to the wood line. All grass and no dust to deal with like you would have if you were staying in the national forest itself. Quiet and just a Short drive to the trailheads and El Dorado outpost is directly across from where the camping spot is at.. we had a great time and will stay there from now on

Very peaceful and convenient too uwharrie national forest. Enjoyed camping under the shade with nice breeze. Will definitely be back.

Great little spot in a huge field conveniently across from the outpost. Perfect location if you’re looking to offroad, hike, use the shooting range, etc.
