The two sites are directly across our driveway from each other. The Treehouse affords covered interior sleeping for 6 ( combination adults an kids ), a W/C and shower, WiFi, TV, all necessary cooking and dining equipment, water equipment and room to pitch a tent if desired. The Overlook site is landscaped,shared and offers a covered overlook, various out door dining and lounging tables, large outdoor stone fireplace and water and fishing equipment shared only with us. PLUS free access to the community dock and our canoes and kayak. Playground for the kids including trampoline. Explore the innumerable trails and waterfalls of the Smokies; swim, canoe, kayak and fish in the Lake or numerous rivers and streams; swim at the sand beach down the road; rent a pontoon boat; enjoy the numerous nearby waterfalls; travel the Blue Ridge Parkway; enjoy the shopping and restaurants of nearby Cashiers and Highlands. Or just hang out. This area is truly one of a kind spiritual respite far from the madding world.1. Magical mountain cabin

Everything was perfect! Peter and his wife were so welcoming. They gave us excellent recommendations, and were so accommodating. Molly was so funny too. Love to see them again! Amazing views. Best view is from one of the bedrooms. It's basically a home away from home. A beautiful place for our first trip together. Bring dog treats. They have plenty of blankets for the winter temperatures!

I really enjoyed spending time with my adult family away from the stresses of the holiday season. We spent daylight visiting Waterfalls, museums and dining. We bonded by the outdoor bonfire at night, and we shared family reflections and laughter in the one-room cabin. As a family that enjoys spending time together, this trip was magical.

Awesome Treehouse Cabin
TREEHOUSE AND OVERLOOK (4100')
This a very unique and cozy treehouse cabin in a beautiful location, right by Lake Glenville. It is a comfortable space with lots of amenities for a fun weekend in the mountains, and feels very secluded surrounded by woods and at a high elevation. Despite being there in rainy weather, it was beautiful with all the fall foliage! And Peter is a very friendly and welcoming host. I would certainly recommend a visit!

Charming space with a View!
TREEHOUSE AND OVERLOOK (4100')
This Treehouse/ Overlook was just right for glamping - all accommodations and ease of use! Warm space to sleep with WiFi, open air kitchen with full accessories, heated full bathroom and shower while being able to enjoy the view of the mountains and nature. Instructions and directions are well thought out and posted for everything. Layout is an easy walk and well designed - great place to to relax and just enjoy your time! Our furry host, Molly was a pleasure to meet and get to know too! Good times had by all!

Stunning mountaintop escape

TREEHOUSE AND OVERLOOK (4100')
We had such a great time at the treehouse! The view is absolutely stunning; none of the pictures do it justice. We visited during peak leaf season, and it was beautiful. The location is perfectly secluded and private, yet close enough to enjoy all the attractions in Highlands and Cashiers if you want to explore. We went with three adults and three kids (2, 4 & 5) and the cabin had plenty of space for everyone. Our first night there was much colder than what we were used to coming from home, but the space heaters kept us nice and toasty! Most of our time was spent around the fire and on the swings. The treehouse was stocked with more utensils and appliances than we could have ever needed, and it was such a treat to have a flushing toilet and hot water. The highlight for our kids, though, was the hosts’ adorable puppy, Molly! She hung out with us most of the time and completely stole our hearts (and a couple shoes) but we loved every second of it. The kids were so sad to leave her when it was time to go. The host was wonderful. He checked in frequently and was always available when we had questions, but never overbearing. He left us fresh eggs when we arrived and even had firewood available for purchase when we realized we’d forgotten ours. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 10/10 recommend this magical spot!

Peter was great! Made sure we had what we needed and then gave us the privacy that this awesome treehouse offers. Our family of four enjoyed everything about it, from the views to the layout of the cabin. We are on our way home, already talking about when we can make the trip back!

Magical mountaintop memories!

Everything about our experience was magical! Peter has thought of everything in creating this rental. I brought 4 of my boys up here (ages 2-19). The cabin was plenty big enough and we could have fit another person. He had everything we needed on site and it was wonderful to have a real toilet and shower with hot water. We definitely want to come back again! Peter is an attentive and respectful host!

Overall we had a great experience, the location is beautiful and there’s plenty of space to hang hammocks. We enjoyed the proximity to great hikes, and the very sweet & friendly dog (Molly) that roams the campsite. We were pretty dissatisfied with the state of the outdoor kitchen as it was all pretty dirty, with mouse droppings covering most of the cookware/utensils, we ended up just boiling all the things we used, but only one of the available burners worked so it took a bit longer than hoped. Overall we’d give it 7/10, but we highly recommend bringing your own pots/pans/utensils and cleaning supplies. Pete was accommodating and responsive.

Peter, his communication and property are excellent. Truly enjoyed our stay, the accommodations, and the area. The sleeping area and deck are fantastic. The views are amazing. The lake and the surrounding areas are just close enough. But not too close. Private. Quite. So relaxing. We will be back.

Very beautiful views and kids loved the treehouse. The host were very kind and accommodating. I would recommend downloading the region on Google maps before heading out since cell phone service is spotty. Our favorite spot on the visit was Cashiers Sliding Rock, we probably spent 8 hours out there in total.

Peter’s “Treehouse and SMH” campsite was such a peaceful escape. The mountain views were stunning, and the sound of the waterfall pond added a calming, meditative vibe to the whole stay. It was the perfect backdrop for relaxing and soaking in nature. The space felt quiet, secluded, and well-kept. Peter was a thoughtful host— I appreciate him checking on us. If you’re looking for a serene spot with beautiful scenery and a soothing atmosphere, I’d recommend this place.

Peter was a very attentive host, checking in on us and answering questions about how to handle things on the site quickly. This is a relatively simple cabin with a moderate sized sleeping area with some mild sitting space, not insulated but heated and generally comfortable. There is then a covered dining and kitchen area with camp type facilities. A microwave but then a couple of propane-fueled cooking options. A picnic table and one swing. On the other side is a water closet which takes a little work to keep going but does have a flushing toilet and a somewhat manageable shower. There are several places to wander outside with swings and other exposed picnic tables, including the treehouse like perch on the other side of the property. The views are not spectacular but are quite nice. It is not too far from some nice day trips in the Franklin to Highlands area. My daughter and I found it a nice spot to get away in the mountains for a few days. It's not cheap but reasonably priced given the apparent comparatives with maybe more glam in the cabin but less of a view and feeling of getting away. We were happy to travel to Peter's spot.

We wanted to camp in the mountains but have some shelter for possible cold temps. This was the perfect spot for that. The provided heaters worked well enough to keep the chill away and there were more than enough amenities for us. Bonus was the view from multiple locations on the property and close proximity to hiking trails. Peter was very communicative and helpful.

My squad and I loved staying at the treehouse. It was a lot warmer than we thought it would be inside with the outdoor temps being in the 20-40s. There was a lovely outdoor fire pit and swinging benches, and the patio near the treehouse was a great place to hang out. It was better than the pictures! Peter was very accommodating. We'd love to stay again.

Great concept, poor execution. Great views! When we first arrived we pulled up to his house; because, we were confused on where we were supposed to be. We were greeted with: you are in the wrong place. We initially booked the tent space. In light of the filth at the tree house, I regret accepting the upgrade. The showers were really gross, the bunk house had rodent droppings in the beds and all around, the camp stove was disgusting with a lot of left over foods. These major issues were never addressed. We were given two unacceptable choices $50 or leave. There were other minor issues that were addressed promptly, but the host’s cavalier attitude and behavior was quite shocking. We were shocked by all of this based on the other reviews.

Wished we could have stayed longer! Peter’s treehouse comfortably slept 4 of us plus two dogs. Camp cooking on the propane stove was a breeze and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and supplies. Toilet and shower facilities were well kept and fully functional. Will definitely be back whenever in the Highlands area!

The area is *beautiful* and the camp setup makes things easy! Amazing views, great birds, and quiet. We were able to cook on the stove and eat well throughout our visit, and the host ensured we were set with everything we needed (including an extra blanket when we got cold!). Even the water tastes great! I can't wait to be back – truly a wonderful experience.

Amazing views! Absolutely amazing access to a beautiful lake! I would definitely stay again! it’s a little tight for four people you’ll get super close and personal. It would be perfect for a small family or a couple. We used the bucket only for emergencies and ended up opting out of using the shower because the poop bucket was also in the same tent and it seemed complicated. The closest gas station is a 30 minute drive down the mountain. But it is so secluded and absolutely beautiful! We loved grilling out at the lake and enjoying the paddleboards! We saw maybe 5 people the whole time we were there. You cannot set up your own tent at all. You have to use the one they provide. Overall it is an amazing opportunity to camp on top of a mountain. I loved it!

An incredible get away high on the mountain top. There are more amenities than most homes or cabins making the stay really comfortable. The views and changing sunsets are magnificent. Everything you need for a wonderful stay. Peter checked in on us making sure we had what we needed and making sure things went smoothly. It was nice of him to check in but we really had everything we needed...Highly recommend for your next Glamping trip!

Our family of 4 had the most incredible stay at Peter’s treehouse. He has thought for and supplied everything you could need during your stay. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. And even in July, the brisk mornings were a welcomed way to start our day. While there are other sites nearby, you would never know. You feel you are in your own secluded part of the world. It truly was a magical stay. Peter was a fantastic host. He was quick to reply to messages and available if needed. 11/10 stars. We hope to return soon. It is a must stay!

The most wonderful Treehouse
TREEHOUSE AND OVERLOOK (4100')
Peter has built a fantastic cabin that has everything the listing promises and way beyond. Thoughtfully put together sleeping quarters, the flush toilet, the hot water shower and dish washing hose really make this place unique (compared to the similar composting toilet and community shower offerings). The kitchen is well put together, too: a 12/24V refrigerator/ freezer is great if you are bringing food to cook. Fully equipped kitchen with all pots pans and utensils you may need. The cabin layout is great: sitting area is in the center of everything, and the air flow is controlled by the restaurant style rolling plastic curtains (which we used when it got windy and cold.) The morning was nice and warm and we lifted those up for the open air on both sides of the cabin. Steps away is the most wonderful patio area with a full water cascading pond and a fire pit surrounded by the set of 2 swinging benches. The view from here is making you feel you are on the top of the world, and is nice and quiet place to enjoy at sunset time.

Amazing View, Wonderful Host

Peter’s land was a great spot to spend a couple nights. The view was just stunning and the site has a ton of great accommodations. There are plenty of places to sit and a huge fire pit. The lake nearby with access to canoes and a paddle board was a huge perk. The nearby hike to High Falls was also just amazing. I loved the area and was happy to find such a great spot with a communicative and helpful host.
