The property is hidden at the end of a dead end road through a code locked automatic gate, we will provide all needed codes for entry, and in each tent is a guest book with anything you need to know about your stay, you can park on the gravel parking area follow the gravel trail to the tents, restrooms, and out door lounge/dining area. There is a ring door bell that can give intant access to the host for anything you might need

Hidden behind a gated entrance (locked nightly for your security), this secluded property is designed for those who want to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with nature—without giving up comfort. A short walk from your gravel parking area leads you along a scenic path to your tent, as well as shared restrooms and a welcoming outdoor lounge and dining space. Each thoughtfully prepared tent includes a guest book with everything you need to know for your stay, along with brochures highlighting local outdoor adventures. Mornings and evenings are made cozy with your personal cooktop—perfect for brewing coffee at sunrise or enjoying hot cocoa under the stars. While fully off-grid, we’ve made sure you stay comfortable: each tent is powered by solar, battery, and propane systems, with a battery bank available to charge small essentials like phones, cameras, and tablets. To keep you comfortable in the desert climate, your tent is equipped with a battery-operated fan and mister for warm afternoons, and a propane heater for cool nights. Our outdoor showers feature on-demand hot water, and the bathhouse includes cassette toilets, a sink with running water, and soft solar lighting. Just a four-minute walk brings you to the tranquil banks of the Animas River—perfect for relaxing, exploring, or simply soaking in the natural beauty. Chaco Canyon Tent
My seven year old and I booked our stay at this lovely camp for two nights, extended for an third, and wish we were staying longer. This local family owned and operated camp has truly been an oasis of birds and deer, really close to town yet feels far away in the best way. We had dinner every night at delicious restaurants on Main Street, did laundry nearby at a clean, friendly laundromat, and filled up with gas, ice, and groceries in the stores. We took day trips to Mesa Verde, Bisti Badlands, and Chaco Canyon while here. Had we stayed one more day, we would have enjoyed fishing nearby. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at Journey Southwest Resort! It was perfect for our small family- lots of thoughtful conveniences. It’s a beautiful spot, right by the river with lots of birds and cottonwoods. We slept tight and Tiana was a great host!
