Stonewall Meadows Farm is an 83 acre farm, surrounded by peace and quiet deep in the woods of NH. Our Hipcamp goal is to provide you with a refreshing, restorative, unplugged, rustic, experience in the woods. The miles of uphill, winding, dirt roads, finally bring you to this historic mountain property of local legend and myth! Just the journey is a scenic trip, especially in NH’s amazing fall foliage season! Come make some memories with us, become part of the journey to bring our vision for the land to life! We are rebuilding/re-pasturing the land, for a sustainable future of grass/tree based farming and secluded nature enjoyment. We have two sites, intentionally separated by trees, elevation, distance of 400yrds. We designed the sites to insure each space feels very private. Our first site is the very popular, much loved, dog friendly, Meadow View. We are excited to have opened our exclusive MT Top site! Both sites have a different style and are sure to excite the person looking to get outside. Read the detailed site descriptions and info sections for each site. We are open year round, with each New England season having special, unique things to offer. Summers are a no brainer with Newfound lake nearby, the hiking trails in the White Mountains, or hike direct to MT Cardigan from your campsite. Fall has spectacular foliage and perfect cooler temps to sit around the campfire drinking coffee/hot chocolate, snuggled up in a hoodie or under a blanket! Winter affords a pristine, beautiful, snowy landscape that is straight out of a Robert Frost poem! Winter activities include snowshoeing, winter hiking, and possibly snowmobiling down the local club maintained trail if open. Be advised to come prepared with good tires as we get SERIOUS winters and our remote, mountain location often requires 4wd to get up the TOWN roads to us, much less the farm roads. We raise chickens and Mangalista pigs! Try some of our farm fresh eggs/bacon, taste the farm fresh difference! Book a farm tour, there are always projects to see and stories to tell of the properties history, and future. We are always improving and building the land to better serve you. Camp in our private 4 acre meadow, surrounded by forest. Our tent campsite is sure to give you the peace and quiet you are looking for. At the right hand, top side of the meadow, lies the foundations of the original 1800s farmhouse and barn. Enter the woods on the left hand (south) side of the meadow to find a trail leading to Cardigan Mt. Throw your frisbee in the open field, pick your fill of wild NH blueberries in season, and lounge in the provided hammock! Your day will close watching sunsets over Brown Mt next to your campfire. We have a direct hiking trail to Cardigan Mt. from the site. Newfound Lake is 20 minutes away with Wellington State Park for swimming. The Danbury Country Store (where you can get ice cream, cold drink, pizza, or deli sandwiches) is 15 minutes away. Must be able to walk 200 yards uphill from parking to campsite.

The Forested Mountain Top

Come and rustic camp up on our very own mountain top at Stonewall Meadows Farm! The top of the world! (otherwise known as Brown Mountain) You will be surrounded by woods in every direction. There is a small view cut to see Mt Cardigan from the campsite. Checkout the view from and maybe catch a sunset from our overlook ledges 100 yards to the south of the site. Use the hiking trail direct to Cardigan Mt, about 4.5 miles one way for an adventure where you can look back at the peak you are camped on. This site is designed to be rustic and rugged, to get a deep woods feeling, NOT GLAMPING. Best for experienced campers, not good for first timers or those bringing a lot of gear. The road access is NOT guaranteed based on your vehicle and the weather conditions. READ the VEHICLE ACCESS INFO and ask questions please. Walking distance is 550 yards uphill, over a four wheeling trail. This is not a good site to come and go a bunch, but best to come setup and stay in the woods until you leave (like camping used to be!). Please book at our Lower Campsite listing if you are looking to scoot around the local area. We take the road access serious with this site, so please try to minimize vehicle trips, IF your vehicle is cleared to go up. Our 8 person, 3 dog team really enjoyed our time at David's site. It was so private and quiet with so much space to spread out. We hiked the Mountain Cardigan trail directly from the site so no need to shuttle everyone around and find parking on a holiday weekend. It was a tough hike but enjoyed but (almost) all. The site included a firepit with cooking grates and some tools, a picnic table and a pit toilet that David came and refreshed when requested. The group was nervous about the toilet situation but ended up being pleasantly surprised. If you don't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle (pick up truck), you cannot drive up to the site and the walk is a little long when you have coolers and a lot of supplies. David was also able to provide wood for a reasonable price. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend to the next camper!

This spot is amazing! Wide open, but private. Perfect for star gazing. A bit of a hike to get in and out, but it's part of it. If you let Dave know when you are getting there he'll help get your stuff up to the fire pit area. We got the eggs, of course, they were delicious. We are planning a trip back in October, the colors will be amazing!

Amazing for Star Gazing!

David was a great host! The large open field was beautiful, especially at sunset and the star gazing was unmatched. We were able to see the Milky Way! Lots of privacy and the fire pit area was nicely set up for a separate fire and cooking area. David sold us some really nicely seasoned firewood which was really convenient. A couple things to note; -There is next to no shade for most of the day so plan for this. -The walk up to the campsite is not the easiest. It's rocky and loose and about 400 yards from parking to the campsite. Doesn't sound like much but with gear it can be rough. David did help us with his UTV going up to the site which was awesome, but just be aware the walk up is a bit hard so plan on getting your stuff up in one go. -It is remote! The closest store is 20 mins away one way, make sure to not forget anything or you'll have to trek up and down and have a 40 min drive to the store! Overall a great trip! Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to be remote and have great sky views!

David's land was spectacular! The stars were amazing, and being able to hike from our camp was a great perc! We had fresh eggs for breakfast, a very private campsite, and a responsive, friendly host. Great place to be!

The space was wonderful and David was a great host. He met us pulling in and offered to help carry our gear out to the site if we needed. The meadow was absolutely beautiful during the day and the number of stars we could see at night was unreal. Blueberry season was in full swing, and we (especially our toddler) enjoyed picking the wild blueberries that covered much of the meadow.

Had a nice stay. The field was huge with a good view and plenty of privacy. Just be prepared for a little hike from your car to campsite.

The location was absolutely goregous. We felt like we were completely alone and didn't have any new world distractions. The hill up is a bit much but our great host met us at the base and held us bring our gear to the top. It did get decently cold at night but the fire helped greatly with that. Thank you so much for having us!

Amazing weekend. Cannot thank David enough for hosting us. Really remote quiet field covered with wild blueberries that had plenty of room for our two pups to run around. Bit of a steep, rocky walk up the road to the site but David helped us with all our gear and said his goal is to have a more drivable road in the near future. First Hipcamp experience and definitely will be booking again at this same location.

We spent two nights here and loved it! The meadow itself is beautiful and very peaceful. The nearby trails are well marked and make for a great hike. Overall, the scenery and sense of seclusion are well worth the short hill to and from the car. We’d love to do this trip again!

I absolutely loved this spot. We have a dog-reactive pup and David was super helpful in answering my questions before I booked to make sure we were not at risk of having an off-leash dog run up to us. Once we got there he brought us water, chatted for a bit, and had the rest of the trip to ourselves. Perfect spot for practicing off-leash work, secluded and super private and quiet. There are ticks so be mindful of checking yourself and pups.

The site was beautiful and totally private. Direct access to a very well-blazed trail. David's hospitality was exceptional. I'm not sure who had a better time, us or our dogs! A place we would absolutely book again.

Quiet and Peaceful! We Loved It

Went up for a weekend in October with my dog and girlfriend. The directions from David were clear and he even had a fire going for us, since we got there late in the evening. The field was great. My dog loved it, and quickly ran around to smell every square inch of it. Location was very private and we had a very quiet and peaceful trip. Very close to the white mountains and Rumney so we drove around a lot, stopped by a few trails, and enjoyed a local brewery. We’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommend for more off the grid and private white mountain camping!

This was a beautiful, private location for camping. Amazing sunrise/sunset views, firepit, and super quiet especially at night. We also hiked the trail to Mt Cardigan which you can access from just off the meadow (~9.3 miles round trip). Our dog loved being able to run around the meadow and explore. Couple consideration as you plan a visit: The campsite is at the top of a pretty steep hill from the parking spot (hence the great views) , David graciously let us drive up to unload/load, but if the ground is wet that won't be possible. Keep in mind while packing that you may be walking ~500 ft. with your stuff and bringing back food to the car each night. Also, we heard Coyotes and saw their poop on the trail, so keep any pets close at twilight/night!

The best off the grid experience

A true Rustic, beautiful off the grid experience. If you are looking to unplug from the matrix and enjoy life in nature, this is your place to go. My family and I were absolutely inspired by our stay here. All luxuries that we take for granted in our city dwelling life, were not available. No water, electricity, bathroom, kitchen, or internet access. David does provide a bucket behind some bushes as your toilet. But there is plenty of wood at the awesome fire pit and grill for warmth and cooking. David the host was always texting to make sure we had enough wood, brought us fresh eggs from his farm, or if we needed help for anything. He gave us great advice and tips to enhance our stay. YOU MUST bring a durable cart to haul your stuff up the hill to the campsite. So pack smart and pack light. This campsite is not for those who want to Glamp. You really are detached from everything, including easy access to your car. But you are close enough to small towns in case you need to grab supplies or a bite. There was plenty to see and do within 20 miles for you and your family. Your dogs will definitely enjoy the meadow. It was great to wake up and drink my coffee in complete silence, while breathing in the freshest of air. Great way to ground yourself and recharge. We can’t wait to go back for our next retreat.

It was our second time camping on David’s land and we had a wonderful time again. There was so much room to spread out and enjoy nature, if you’re a rustic camper this spot is for you!

What a beautiful camp site! You truly feel alone in nature at the edge of a beautiful meadow with no one else in sight. Sure has a picnic table, neat fire pit, hammock, and composting toilet. Plus the blueberries growing all around are fantastic. We will be looking to come back soon!

We had a great time camping in David's meadow! It was beautiful and nice and quiet. David provided fire wood for us and met us up at the tent site to make sure we had everything we needed.

We had a great time tent camping at David's place! He was very welcoming and even had a fire going when we got there. The space is a lovely open field with an amazing view of the stars. It is almost a backcountry feel but with access to your car. There is a bit of a walk to the site from the parking so be prepared to haul your stuff up a pretty steep hill, well worth it though! It is also bear country (we did see a small black bear on the other side of the meadow) so make sure you bring all food back to the car at night. Overall would stay again for accessible rustic camping!

We have never stayed in a place so beautiful and with such down to earth, accommodating hosts. We were given very clear directions and they went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. We picked fresh blueberries and made pancakes. We used the large fire pit, star gazed and our group of 7 couldn’t have had a better stay. We’ve never had such a beautiful view of the stars and such peace and quiet. We will be back!

Beautiful, remote site. David was responsive, friendly, and helpful. The walk from the parking area to the campsite is only a couple minutes, but I recommend a small wagon of some kind if you have a lot of gear. Night sky was amazing and great for photography. Blueberries everywhere!
