First Hipcamper Club

Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.

We have many locations on our ranch for groups to gather. You will see us in Hipcamp under Trees, Lake view, rock buttes. We can accommodate many TENT campers outside of our normal hipcamp area. There is another set of trees to camp under, also a couple acres of tall bushes to camp in or up on the rocks. There is a $50.00 minimum nightly charge for groups up to 25 people and 4 vehicles at the camp site. $80.00 for groups up to 80 people and 8 vehicles at the camp site. We strive to keep vehicle traffic to a minimum. We raised 6 kids out here and and received an 84% rating. Once a year we have a third grade class out for the day. We take them on a flat bed trailer pulled by a farm tractor up on top of the buttes to throw pine cones, then go fossil hunting. Later we take them in the horse trailer to the corrals and run them through as if they were a calf. We weigh them, brand them, vaccinate them, and give em an ear tag. Bottom line, we are used to kids. NOTE we are not in Lockwood. The Hipcamp program always puts us there. We are 4 miles north of Billings off Highway 87 North.This area is just outside our regular hipcamp site named Trees, Lake View, Rock buttes. They start in the crowding tub, then down the alley way to the squeeze chute where they are weighed. Next is the calf table where they are vaccinated, ear tagged and branded. Sometimes the same calf comes through 2 or 3 times. We have a dog that adopted us four years ago and he loves kids. He may want to spend all his time out there with you. If he is a pest, let us know and we will put him in the house.
