Your camping spot is near the road for easy access, but the road is private and dead-ends just beyond my property, so traffic is very minimal. I aim to treat all my guests as if you were a long-time friend. I try to be your personal concierge, so anything you need or want to know, just ask.

Same-day evening/night reservations are fine - just be sure to inform me of arrival time and include late check-in fee, after 9 pm. PLEASE READ STUDENT TERMS BELOW - if any guest doesn't meet the terms, you will be required to reserve the RV or tent site, at full price. Safe, clean, and quiet area to pitch a tent or sleep in your car. As a host, I am on-sight all night and always available by phone or text msg. This is at the same location as my primary site, Big Sky Vistas. If you do not meet the more-restrictive student terms, you can always reserve at full-price through my primary site. If more than 3 students, it will be cheaper to book the standard sites, which allows 7, 8, or 10 occupants, depending on site. TERMS: 1. Intended for traveling full-time students who do not have a regular income. 3. Discount is for 1 or 2 students. Additional students are $5 more. All persons must meet the student requirements. 5. Must either have been, or enrolled to be a full-time student during 2025. 4. Age 25 or under. 5. I reserve the right to verify student status upon arrival (generally, a .edu email address should be sufficient). Nice, mostly level spot. There was an area for walking your dogs. Many deer in the area. Was able to pull through with our 35 foot 5th wheel.

Even though somewhat marred by some from northern fires, the views were still beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. Justin was great, very flexible when a problem with our rv caused us to be a day late. He was very helpful in getting us situated so our camper was level.

Great views, and great host! Justin worked with me when my trip had to be altered due to health and allowed me to flex my stay by a couple days. He’s a fantastic host and will make sure you’re settled and check to see if you need anything. If you’re there in August, be mindful of the potential for wildfires in the mountains, Justin kept apologizing for the smoke covered mountains, but I absolutely loved it. The light was special as the sun set from the smoke, but I love moody sunsets. I love experiencing the outdoors in all its varying degrees.

This site is amazing! The solitude and views are breathtaking. Long ride up on gravel roads with views the entire way. Justin is very welcoming, friendly, and informative. The starry sky is huge and the sunset is right out your front windows.

Absolutely beautiful place to camp! Our host was so responsive and kind. Easy to follow directions, smooth arrival process. The views from our site were perfect. It’s definitely a quiet area so I wouldn’t recommend for loud groups. Voices definitely carry in the mountains so we encouraged our kiddo try to keep the noise down. Would love to stay here again!

Justin’s land held a peaceful & mostly private safe space (some neighbors I never heard- and you may share the 2 other sites with someone but in my case I had the evening to myself). Stunning views, personable & respectful host, simple instructions provided, would easily stay again.

We had a great 5-star stay at Justin’s Hipcamp! We arrived late and he stayed up to show us to our spot. He was super friendly and kind, gave us info about the surrounding area, and even helped us figure out how to get to our next destination. Really appreciated the hospitality! 10/10 we would come back and recommend him to our friends and family.

Everything was as described, fantastic views, clear directions from Justin the host. We were unable to fill up with water before arriving, Justin went out of his way to get us some water. The views are incredible, would highly recommend, thanks again for your hospitality Justin!

What an absolutely wonderful campsite we had! Justin met us when we got there and showed us where to go and then left us to get settled. Later, he came down to see if there was anything we needed and gave us a lot of good information about the area. We were there for three nights and he made sure he stopped by a couple times every day to check on us, couldn’t ask for a better host or a better location! The views are tremendous and the night sky was beautiful. Thank you again Justin and forever in your neck of the woods will certainly come back!

Justin was very friendly, showed excellent hospitality, and had a lovely area for us to stay! The view from the site was incredible and the character baked into the land is palpable. There were some cows nearby that were very cool to see as well and this site worked out for us perfectly. Highly recommend!!

Scenic Stay Near Columbus, MT

We were driving from Glacier National Park to Yellowstone via Beartooth Pass Highway when it became clear it was getting late and we wouldn’t make it to our planned dispersed campsite. As we exited I-90 into Columbus, we searched for nearby options and found Justin’s place on HipCamp, just 15–20 minutes away. Perfect! After booking, Justin quickly sent us clear directions. His property sits on a ridge with beautiful distant mountain views. Although it was rainy and overcast during our stay, we could still see some of the scenery. Be sure to follow the directions Justin provides. Google Maps worked for us, but it’s best to confirm your route matches his. The road includes a stretch of unpaved driving, but we had no issues in our Class C motorhome towing a Wrangler. Justin was responsive, friendly, and helpful throughout. If we’re ever back in the area, we’d absolutely stay again. Highly recommended!

We had such a lovely time at this property, very accessible from the main Highway and incredibly peaceful of a spot to camp. Quiet and incredible views. Very friendly and informative host. Felt secure.

Justin was extremely friendly and welcoming on our arrival. The views of the Beartooth and Crazy Mountains, especially sunset and sunrise, were spectacular. Justin mowed some paths down the draw on his property to make walking easier. Very cool!

This was my first Hipcamp stay. Justin was a delight and so helpful to get me into the site and level. He met me when I arrived and gave me some good recommendations around the area. His property is absolutely beautiful and worth driving to in order to get those amazing views!!! There were deer and turkeys wandering around and he had a path cut so you could get out for a walk and take in the beauty and quietness. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The location is beautiful, very primitive site, as advertised. Unfortunately Justin thought it was appropriate to hit on me, a solo female traveler, well after dark, in a rural area. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate, not to mention unsettling. It was very unexpected since he had so many positive reviews and our conversation was nothing other than plain friendly. My gut told me he was likely not a dangerous person, and I didn't have anywhere else to go, as it was already after 10pm and my final destination was still 6 hours away. So I stayed the night in my locked van and left early in the morning. I hesitated to post this honest review because Hipcamp gives hosts your phone number. Justin texted me directly without having to ask for my#. I don't recall consenting to this during the booking process, but I could have missed it.

Very easy to communicate. Justin gave great instructions for finding the place and was very friendly and helpful. It's a basic campsite but it was perfect for what I needed. Wish I had been staying long enough to wander around the area a bit, it looked pretty.

Justin’s spot is amazing. Views for miles. Private, quiet and secluded. We were just looking for a safe overnight spot away from the highway. It was perfect. Would also be great for multiple nights as a home base for exploring. Justin was a very friendly and personable host as well. Highly recommend.

Justin is a book of information about the area and a friendly host. The pin direction he sent me was spot on. Don't second guess if it take a bit to go up the mountain, it's well worth the peace and quiet. I would definitely return when in the area.
