The IX Ranch is a family owned cattle operation in north central Montana. Established in 1955 this 134,000 acre working ranch is nestled in and around the Bears Paw Mountains and features rolling hills, mountain and breaks country. The IX is not only home for our families and livestock, it is full of wildlife such as elk deer, antelope, prairie dogs, coyotes, mountain lions and a variety of upland and water birds. The ranch has won many awards over the years but most notably the 2007 Environmental Stewardship Award and 2020 National Beef Quality Assurance Award. Learn more about this land: We are a working cattle ranch with open space and lots of nature. There are vast open views with livestock and plenty of wildlife such as elk, deer, antelope and an array of upland game birds.
