Established through the vision of local businessman Ed Willoughby in the early 1900s, this park features a picturesque lake where families can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, and picnicking during the summer months. In winter, the lake transforms into a space for ice cutting, showcasing its versatility throughout the seasons. The park's history dates back to 1904 when the Rock Island railroad was constructing tracks to connect Windsor to Kansas City. Ed Willoughby collaborated with General Superintendent W. E. Morse to turn the reservoir and surrounding grounds into a premier leisure destination. On July 25, 1954, the park was officially dedicated as "Farrington Park," in honor of J. D. Farrington, the Rock Island President, marking a significant milestone for the community. Today, Farrington Park, often referred to as the "Crown Jewel of Windsor," hosts a variety of city festivities, including the Fourth of July celebration, a dazzling Christmas light display, family reunions, and weddings.
