Nestled near Erskine in Polk County, this campground features a cozy cabin, versatile meeting space, and seasonal RV camping sites, making it an ideal retreat for both Farmers Union members and the general public. The campground's history dates back to the 1940s when Polk County Farmers Union members A.M. Larson, Fred Groninger, and Ed Tuveng discovered the picturesque Lake Sarah Campground. A unanimous vote led to the purchase of 3.1 acres for $500, along with an additional strip of land for $50. In the 1980s, the property was generously donated to Minnesota Farmers Union, ensuring its continued use for community gatherings. Over the years, dedicated MFU members have transformed Lake Sarah Campground into a welcoming space, adding several enhancements. These include a lodge built entirely by volunteers, connected dormitories, an auditorium, a kitchen, and bathhouses. The campground serves as a hub for various events and activities, including the popular Northern Elementary and Northern Junior Camps held every summer.
