It's on a semi-private island that you need to take a ferry to. You can booking though Plaunt Transportation or Google Bois Blanc Island Ferry(This is separate from our campsite and we have no control over the ferry!-reservations are highly recommend). It's a fun ride however. It's 2 Block from Lake Huron. You have access to Lake Huron via a public park and 6 inland lakes(the only sandy beach is 2 miles away(just before our campsite) called Snow Beach)). There are only 70 ish permanent residents but it can have as many as 3000 on any given week. There are next to no retail shops however the local grocery store in Cheboygan will send boxes over on the ferry for a small charge. You really should be prepared for your trip in advance. The property is located 5 miles from the dock so an easy bike ride and reservations are not required for the ferry for bikes. Fires are permitted after a call to the local volunteer fire dept. You will need 3-5 gallons buckets which are supplied if no one has borrowed them. We have a friend on the island that may be able to assist but he is retired and he lives on the mainland. Contact us 1st before you book if you think you will need assistance. Since we live in Florida. We offer this property, as we use it very little and it's a fantastic place that will bring long term family and couple memories for years. Mackinac Island can be seen from the North End of the island. The water in Lake Huron is crystal clear and great for swimming and other water sports. You can see 30ft down easily.
