GROOTs OFF GRID sports the Natural Organic progression of trees and shrub growth that has created a cornucopia of attraction of life to a vast array of wild life that outdoes any nature center you may have attended before, because of GROOTs OFF GRID location and long periods of isolation due to a seasonal business and a lot of land. GROOTs OFF GRID Organic nursery has 3 ponds and natural flowing water ways that were laid out and dug by a Dutchman who understood that rain water will flow downhill to end up into The Fowler Creek at the back of the property were you can see large Salmon, Carps, Turtles, Blue Gills Bull Frogs & much more aquatic life! GROOTs OFF GRID Activities available here on the property! 3 Hiking & Biking paths A. B. and C. Trails. All grass mowed and all trails marked with directional signs leading to different directions on the property. BIKE PATHS leading to safe back roads leading to breweries and wineries, local lakes and parks. & Lake Michigan Wine Trail. Large trees to climb! Bird watching, Turtle racing, reptiles and interesting Butterflies and insects! There is lots of open space to play corn hole, badminton, frisbee. Toss the football around or play a baseball game! Better yet, you can set yourself up in the sun and get a great tan! Or slip into a nice slow swinging hammock with a good book under a cool shade tree and make that your plan! Either way its Ok if you like your stay, book another day! GROOTs OFF GRID is a new Campground. That is slowly growing larger. Operations were put in place in 1998 to start to make this large area to become available and open for the public to come and enjoy. Only on a limited level of occupation at each season is allowed here, to insure the animal presence is not overly disturbed. By too many visitors at a time. This is to preserve a true experience for the campers to understand actual living in the wild of Michigan’s original forests with its natural animal inhabitants! A unique experience many kids in time, will never see again. WHAT ENTERTAINMENT IS AVAILABLE AROUND GROOTS OF GRID? ·      LAKE MICHIGAN! Swim & Sun! Groots Off Grid - The Alamo
Wooded, shady and quiet
The GOG is a nice place to stay for a weekend. We arrived in the afternoon and Peter came over to the site that we set up on to chat and let us know the ground rules. Very friendly and gave us some good pointers on where to go. We have kids and came with two families so we ended up going to Lake Michigan (10 mins away) and spent a couple days swimming. The site itself is nice and secluded enough to have a pretty quiet night despite being surrounded by other farms or homes and is only a couple miles off hwy 94 but there is very little noise. The campsites could be a little more specifically detailed or laid out as to where to go at arrival but Peter is very laid back about it and we ended up in a nice spot for 8 people and a dog- and this was a very dog friendly location with lots of owners with dogs. There were several other campers there at the same time, but they were friendly and not loud at all. The trees and brush was thick enough to drown out noise from other campers. There was one shared portajohn but was clean before we got there. Bring mosquito spray bc you will need it. like any wooded campsite. We did have to haul in some water for cooking and cleaning maybe bc the tap wasn't up and running yet but that wasn't too hard. Campsites are a few feet away from parking. Overall space is wide open and you can kick/throw the ball while the parents cook. It rained on us for 2 evenings and the site got soggy but the location, the space and things to do was just fine.

Groots Off Grid - Cabin Woods
Had a great stay at Groot's at the cabin In the woods. Host was welcoming, firewood was reasonable, we'd stay again if in the area. Pretty secluded site, especially if you tent camp by the firepit. Closest neighbors are ~20 foot through the woods. Low branches make it challenging for a trailer but doable if you're good.

Groots OG - Honeysuckle Grove
Sasquatch sighting
Two bands stopped here on their tour to do a tent sleep over. The drive into the property was so cool with old dilapidated campers, barns and Sasquatch. Our camp ground had a nice fire pit and a structure made of fire wood. The spots for the tents were very large with beautiful trees over hanging creating a little oasis. The host was cool and kind and made us feel welcomed. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore all the acres.
