The Cape Cod Acre is a cozy one acre oasis just 1 mile from beautiful Cape Cod Bay. Our Honey Shack is a private off grid (no electricity) tiny camp, nestled between pine trees and blueberry bushes. Nearby you can enjoy stunning beaches, hiking, paddling (fresh water ponds or the ocean), surfing, biking (access to the to the Cape Cod Rail Trail is less than a 10 minute drive), great food, restaurants and shops. The Honey Shack is an off grid (no electricity) tiny shack located in a private corner of our yard. Campers will enjoy a comfortable loft style bed (bring your own blankets!), a plush built in couch, a small private deck, and an indoor sitting area/counter with a hand washing sink (tap water supplied with portable water tanks). The composting toilet is in a custom built outhouse* (campers are responsible for disposing of solid waste), and we will allow access to our outdoor shower (hot and cold water- attached to our house- available hours are posted in the shack/ we limit time to give you and us privacy since it’s attached to our house). The camp comfortably sleeps 2 in the loft bed, a third person could sleep on the couch. A fourth person would be tight and you need to provide your own sleeping mat. Tents and car camping are not recommended as our lot is on a hill! Spend your time secluded among the surrounding pine trees, or meet our chickens, and honey bees, on our property. Take a 20 minute walk to the beach or a quick bike ride. Enjoy the best of Cape Cod with an easy drive to beaches, parks, restaurants, and shopping. There is no fridge or electricity supplied to the honey shack. While the shack is comfy and waterproof, it is basic…it’s camping but cuter. You will most likely meet a spider or a bug, and while we provide some lighting a headlamp or flashlight is recommended. The structure is 13x7ft, just enough space to relax! *With our composting toilet we will supply the disposal bag and wood shaving covering, campers are responsible for disposing of the bagged waste. We live on property, and can frequently be found outside, but will respect your space. Say hello if you want, ask for tips, or keep to yourself! We have a dog, an overly friendly black lab, she loves to greet people, and loves kids. She will likely wander over to you at some point with a wag and wiggle (her name is Star). Neighbors are close by, but woods and fence provide plenty of privacy. We have honey bee hives on property! They are generally docile and mind their own beeswax (ha!), but if you have a bee allergy or fear of bees this may not be the spot for you.

Honey Shack
Me and my girlfriend had a great time staying at the honey shack. Little cozy spot with a nice outdoor shower close to all the fun parts of cape cod.

Honey Shack
We had a wonderful time at the Honey Shack! It was just what we expected and needed during our stay on the cape. It was organized, unique, and we greatly appreciated the notes, reminders and tips on how to best utilize the space/location. The property was quiet, and private. We had no trouble finding the location. Star the lab greeted us on our last morning and was VERY sweet! Also, we were surprised with a jar of the honey from the honey bees! It was delicious and a great addition to our morning coffee. We look forward to staying again in the future.

The honey shack was lovely, and so were our hosts’ tips about Cape Cod. We loved our stay!

Honey Shack
Cozy and lovely spot off the beaten path! We were very happy not to be in a tent during rainstorms during our stay. Loved the repurposed wood and the off grid amenities were great, including a sink pump. Host provided all the needed information on using amenities, including the compostable toilet which requires you to haul out the solid waste at the end of your stay. Very grateful for an affordable option on the Cape!

Honey Shack
No security, poor lighting, spiders
The shack was decently built, it could be better. The building wasn't insulted at all so it felt damp in the room and very cold. The shower was outside with no roof or anything and no lights, I had to prop up my phone to with it's light to see anything and it got wet. There's 0 security with this room. The door does not lock at all. There's lots of spiders, bugs, and other creepy crawlys watching you sleep. Some even bite you in the night. We slept with the lights on. Good for one night if you need a spot with a shower if these aren't deal breakers for you.
