Conway Natives Nursery is a beautiful working farm/plant nursery devoted to the propagation of native plant species, using sustainable methods. With pristine water from our well and forests all around, you will camp amid our gardens and orchards. Visit the chickens and pick fresh, organic fruit in season. Walk down the country road to the Bear River for a dip or explore nearby Shelburne Falls. We have a newly built outhouse. Enjoy our brand new outdoor shower with HOT AND COLD WATER, while looking over the wooded hillsides. Wilder Hill Gardens is very peaceful, guaranteed you will be greeted by bird song every morning and the evening sky is bright with stars. We are in a lovely rural neighborhood yet centrally located to any number of natural wonders and cultural activities. On the land, you might see a robust flock of laying hens, pigs in a portable pen cultivating new ground, plantings of medicinal herbs, and gorgeous sun and shade display gardens. A half acre of pick-your-own pears, currants, gooseberries and blueberries yields organic fruit from mid-July through September. Each site has a separate fire pit, Sorry, but we are not accepting pets at this time. There are two farm dogs, Viola and Jackson at Wilder Hill Gardens. They are friendly, well trained and mostly work along side me. But they do have free range of the farm and if anyone in your party has a fear or dislike of dogs this is probably not the best choice for you. We have PYO fresh fruit, vegetables, cut flowers, eggs, and all of our nursery stock for sale in season. There is a newly built garden shop and art gallery with a 12 Ft. Mosaic made of thousands of handmade porcelain pieces. We accept cash or checks or Venmo, but not credit cards. We had a lovely stay at Wilder Hill Farms! The property was so beautiful and we were so excited to see the abundance of flowers. Lillian went above and beyond to be welcoming, friendly, and ensure we had everything we needed. Not to mention the sweet pooches -  Viola and Jackson! Taking a dip in the nearby creek was the perfect way to wrap up a beautiful summer day. The fire pit was a nice spot to dry off afterwards and unwind with plenty of wood to keep it going.

This was such a sweet little camping spot for my friend and I. We were going to Greenriver festival for the weekend and it was the perfect spot to call home for the weekend. We loved cooking meals over the campfire and found the space very accommodating. Lilian was very sweet and checked in with us several times throughout our visit, even lending my friend a tent when she realized she forgot tent poles. The shower was still in progress when we arrived, but we were still able to take a hot shower (which was much appreciated) and it's going to be a really nice feature once complete. Would definitely come back to this spot and would highly recommend!

Beautiful, Primitive Camping

Stayed with one of my friends for a decompression weekend. The grounds are beautiful, and though some facilities are a bit more primitive, the site has essentially everything you should need for a good stay. Lillian’s shop has an outdoor outlet, and we were happy to see that she also had some kitchen appliances that we weren’t able to pack in with us. Because the shop is a shared space sometimes the cooking can have better timing than others- I’d try to get to it extra early or later into the night to avoid conflicting with anything the host may have going on. The host stopped by our site a few times to check in on us, but anything else she had going on in the gardens never impacted our privacy at the site, so no complaints! Lillian also allowed use the shop cart to get our things from parking to the campsite. The walk to the site isn’t too far, but definitely adds a bit to the set up time so I’d recommend getting there with plenty of time before dark. The outhouse is probably the most primitive piece of the experience, and though it forces some exposure therapy for arachnophobic campers, it worked for what it needed to. I also recommend purchasing any extras on site rather than through the app to avoid any confusion! Again, the beauty of the grounds can’t be overstated, and every trip through the garden offered a new, wonderful detail we missed the first time around. Overall, I think it’s a very unique experience in a stunning setting, and we got the mental reset we needed

My family and I had the best time exploring Wilder Hill Garden! Lilian was so kind and patient with my 2 sons and my niece. They had the best time picking vegetables and exploring all the beautiful art around the property. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved our stay at Wilder Hill Gardens! We can’t wait to stay again. Unfortunately, it rained for much of our stay, but Lilian was extremely accommodating and truly went above and beyond to make us comfortable and make the best of it. I highly recommend spending a bit extra for some cut flowers. They were gorgeous!

Beautiful property with an incredible array of flowering plants and cool fire pit area. Short walk from parking to a spacious campsite, easy access to outhouse and water spigot. Lilian was a great host, look forward to visiting again sometime!

Lilian's gardens are beautiful and so wonderful to explore. Such a kind host, ensuring we had everything we needed, staying in contact, and introducing us to her sweet dogs, Viola and Jackson! The camping area was well maintained, with a fire pit and grill available, an outhouse nearby, and access to potable water. Make sure to visit Lilian's studio while visiting, her ceramics and prints are excellent!

Overall, the experience was nice. I didn’t think the ground would be an issue at first, but it definitely needs to be leveled. The host was super friendly, and her native garden was amazing. The local town was beautiful, and there was a nice swimming hole within a 10 minute walk. Only negative aspect was the unleveled ground. If this was fixed, I would definitely return in a heartbeat!

Our family of four had such a nice time camping here. Lilian is lovely and made sure we had absolutely everything that we needed. The space itself was perfect - fire pit, comfy Adirondack chairs, beautiful scenery. Her gardens are breathtaking and magical to walk through. My kids loved playing badminton and picking blueberries as well as feeding the chickens and seeing her dogs. There is a cute little outhouse and a separate area for hand washing. There is a hose/shower but we opted to take a dip in one of the nearby swimming holes instead. We purchased a couple piles of firewood and some fresh veggies from Lilian’s garden as well as an original print from her studio.

My stay at Wilder Hill Gardens was a fine first-stay with a Hip Camp host. The beautiful flower gardens of the host, Lilian, provided a great setting. The camp space for tents was basic and appropriate for what I needed: level surface, option to spread out your gear, and the walk to the car was close enough. Wilder Hill Gardens is not like a state park setting. It struck me as what I expected from Hip Camp…basic, affordable, friendly host.

Lilian as a great taste for garden design. She is dedicated to her work. The location is perfect, near the coquette Shelburne falls and the lovely Tap Room of Cornway. I would suggest you to know well the rules of the place and to respect them. This is a garden where beauty is all around and almost surreal. Although it can get muddy after the rain.

My few days camping at Wilder Hill Gardens were a delight. Although quite rustic, with an outhouse and outdoor shower, the site was private and well tended with a view to the forest. Lilian is a landscape designer and her property is a paradise, amazing stone work everywhere overflows with flowers and herbs. Lilian made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and even fixed me up with a few things I'd overlooked. The site has a table, rustic benches, and comfy chairs around a fire pit. I especially enjoyed my morning meditation walking around the stunning Tibetan Stupa. Make sure you check out her printing studio/gallery, Lilian is an amazing artist and I’ll be returning to take one of her classes in September! Thank You Lilian!

We had a wonderful time at Lilian’s place. She’s a fascinating person, thoughtful host, and incredible gardener and artist. We enjoyed talking with her and seeing her work. We had a lovely, quiet stay camping on her property, enjoying all the woods and streams close by, and popping into Shelbourne Falls. Would highly recommend! I hope to make it back.

Lilian’s garden was great! We loved staying on her gorgeous property. It was wonderful to hear the chickens in the morning and walk through the garden to fill up out water. There was a lovely swimming hole near by that was perfect for a hot day. Lilian was a great host. Very accommodating and available for any help we needed. She was even kind enough to draw us a map to a local hike and recommended us great places to see in the area.

Pretty but Primitive!

First thing: The property was very beautiful, and Lillian was a gracious host. We went on a particularly wet weekend, right after the massive downpours - we had a lucky 48 hours of decent weather, but it was very muddy and buggy, which no one can help. That’s just weather. I want to clarify though if you’re looking online - the platform was out of commission and the outhouse was not completely operational. Lillian said it’s a work in progress, but it didn’t match the description. You’ll need to be prepared for a trek from your car to the site, and to keep on eye on stinging nettles that grow along the field - pants and long socks while you’re doing set up. Shouldn’t be an issue for experienced campers but not everyone with us was. I’d recommend the PYO flowers! They are beautiful - but the veggie basket and PYO fruits were seemingly sparse. We had some sugar snap peas, some very nice radish greens, and we picked some red currants. I was a little bummed that we didn’t see the blueberry field, which we saw visiting families utilize. Nonetheless, it was a sweet moment. The town nearby - Shelbourne Falls was delightful and the bridge of flowers was incredible, highly recommend. My overall take was that while it was a nice experience and scenic - it was expensive for a primitive camping experience. I appreciate that Lillian is running this operation seemingly on her own though and credit were credit is due - it’s lovely.

We stayed two nights. The location is scenic, but this spot may be more suited for those who like more primative-style camping. As is, the shower area appeared to be a hose hooked to a tap, and there was no shower curtain. Campers cart in their things from a driveway to the site itself. My feeling in general would be this place would be tough to bring children, and an established campground would be more appropriate for people of different ages and abilities. That said, the location is picturesque and also close to wonderful things like Shelbourne Falls, Amherst, Historic Deerfield, and a thousand farmers markets.

Such an amazing stay! Lilians done such an amazing job with the land and an amazing host. She pointed us out to some local swimming holes, hikes and bars as well. All you need is at this magical place! Got some much needed r and r and would definitely stay again. Thanks Lilian!

Lillian’s property was beautiful and a great place for camping and relaxation. Her dogs Viola and Jackson were friendly and pleasant to be around. Lillian’s communication and suggestions for things to do were excellent as well. I would gladly return again!

I spent a delightful weekend enjoying the last of the fall weather. This second visit did not disappoint; everything was as I remembered: the beauty of the farm, access to water and firewood, and convenient composting toilet not too far from the campsite. The calm atmosphere and beauty of the landscape and buildings were a great backdrop to a relaxing camping trip. How lucky to get in one last camping trip while the grass was still green, but the mosquitoes had departed!

Place is a gem,quiet site and Lilian was wonderful.She helped me pick flowers(actually she picked and I held the flowers)for a beautiful bouguet for a friend I was visiting.Only 2 sites and the fire pit make this 1 cozy spot to visit.

We had a great experience camping at Wilder Hill Gardens. Lilian is a thoughtful host who made sure we had what we needed. Her cut flowers are especially lovely, and don’t miss the studio with her artwork! The gardens are close to Shelburne Falls and Greenfield, and not far from Northampton either if you want to see some sights and have some delicious meals out before returning to camp at night for a fire. I’d recommend Wilder Hill to anyone interested in farm camping and seeing what western Mass has to offer!

Although we only stayed for the weekend, we had an amazing and restful time at Wilder Hill Gardens and left feeling rejuvenated as if we had taken a multi-day vacation. The atmosphere and beauty of this location combines with the gracious hospitality of the host, the volunteers, and the two friendly dogs Jackson and Viola to make for a wonderful weekend. Totally recommend this site and we can't wait to come back again!

Peaceful camp with refreshing swim

This was a great campsite with everything we needed at hand: firewood, water, very well-constructed composting toilet, shade, and solar shower. We really enjoyed the refreshing swimming hole nearby and all the activities available in the area. Most of all, I loved the calm atmosphere of this camping experience and the beauty of Wilder Hill Garden. The host was a gracious and interesting person who has created a picturesque backdrop for another great camping weekend.
