While you'll feel miles away from it all, you're only a short boat ride from the campground, where you'll have access to amenities including showers, a camp store, activities, and more. It's the perfect getaway for those looking to reconnect with nature without giving up the comforts of a campground.

Our private boat-access island campsite on beautiful Annabessacook Lake offers a truly unique camping experience where you can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature without giving up the conveniences of a full-service campground. Spend your days surrounded by bald eagles, loons, and other Maine wildlife, fish right from the shoreline, relax around the fire pit, and sleep beneath a sky full of stars. The island features a generator available for guest use, a composting toilet (outhouse), and a spacious fire pit. You can reach the island using your own canoe or kayak, take advantage of our complimentary boat shuttle service, or bring your own boat and dock it right at the island. Free parking is available at Augusta West Kampground for all island guests. Your stay also includes full access to all of Augusta West Kampground's amenities, located just a short boat ride away. Enjoy free hot showers, a heated swimming pool, sandy beach area, public boat launch, coin-operated laundry facilities, dock space rentals (subject to availability), and kayak, canoe, paddleboard, and paddleboat rentals. Stop by our campground store for ice cream, firewood, ice, cold drinks, limited groceries, camping supplies, clothing, and other essentials. Throughout the season, guests are welcome to participate in our weekly campground events and activities, including live music, bingo, themed weekends, family events, food trucks, and more. You'll also have access to our playground, basketball court, and arcade, making it easy to enjoy the perfect combination of a secluded island escape and the fun and convenience of a family campground.

This site features Pine Cone Lodge, our cozy mini camper rental nestled on the island. The camper comfortably sleeps two adults, with room for one small child, making it the perfect retreat for couples or small families looking for a unique camping experience. The camper is equipped with air conditioning and heat for added comfort, and a generator is provided to supply power during your stay. Guests are asked to bring their own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, and other linens. Please note that pets are not permitted inside the mini camper.
