Grandpa Jessie has a beautiful man made pond, 130 acres of fields and trails, two lovely elderly rescue horses, a tiny black pony, a giant greenhouse, an extremely friendly barn cat and a fluffy sheep dog who will try to herd you if she gets the chance. What grandpa Jessie doesn’t have is an outhouse, or a pristine yard. However, the pond has fish, the animals are pretty friendly, and there is lots of space to explore! Only 10 mins from Bucksport, 17 mins from Fort Knox, Bangor is about half an hour away and bar harbor is one hour. This property is best suited for older children and adults since there are animals on the farm!Guests we’ll have access to 130 acres of rough trails and woods. There are two older horses on site, an extremely friendly Barn cat, and a sheepdog that doesn’t have much to herd. The dog is not a huge fan of children, but it is great with adults. There is a small portable camp toilet if you need it, it is stocked with bags. Please take all trash with you including human waste. There’s a small hand pump sink available as well. You are able to set up your tent wherever you want, we do not host more than one party at a time. The grounds are not in perfect condition, this is a working farm as well as mechanic shop. If you were looking for pristine grounds, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to make friends with an elderly farmer, see how a giant greenhouse works, explore the woods a bit, and say hi to some fairly friendly horses- this might be your spot. We are close to Bucksport, and Mount desert island is usually less than an hour depending on traffic. There is a gas station with food, supplies and restrooms about 5 mins down the road. Also the Hancock Pour house restaurant and bar. Closer horse encounters and fresh veggies are available for an additional donation. Please reach out with any questions. Happy camping!
