Windy Goat Acres

This yurt is beautiful, the landscape is beautiful and peaceful. Truly we had a great stay! If you’re not physically capable of much walking, I would stay in the other yurt since this one is quite a bit of a walk from the parking and pretty far from the bathroom. I’m not a fan of porta potties, especially since it was so cold out, but it’s great that it was there for emergencies. The main bathroom needs a curtain, to me it’s very strange that there isn’t one. If you’re coming in the winter, bring really warm and thick socks, and big thick blankets. Yes the yurt is heated but not very well. I wish I had brought another thick blanket for the floor as they are very very chilly. Our nights were below zero, I think if the temps were around 20’s and 30’s overnight it wouldn’t have been bad at all. We did have a little mouse thief, which is to be expected in this sort of setting, but just a note to put your bread in a better spot than I did. The yurt does have a tv, which I wasn’t expecting but it was pleasant to stay in and watch movies since we couldn’t really do much outside. The couch is comfy! My only real complaints are that the bathrooms are so far away, and that the bunk bed blocked the star gazing at night. If we come back, I will rent the other since the queen armadillo bunk bed blocks the view. Hosts were wonderful, didn’t bother us at all but were responsive when needed.

Armadillo yurt

This is our second time staying here. We stood in the armadillo yurt and it was do beautiful and had everything you needed and more. We loved being able to bring our dog and enjoyed all the trails. We fed the animals. Loved hearing the Peacocks. We got the waffle bar and it was delicious. Such a neat place and the hosts are great. Will be back.

Perfect Night

Husband and I stayed in Lady Morphia's cabin on Valentine's Day. Absolutely perfect getaway. The waffle bar was worth adding on!!!! The little baby goat fell asleep in my arms. BEAUTIFUL kitty gave us some love. Wouldn't change a thing. We will definitely be back.

Hobbit on the hill was a phenomenal experience! Everything was very well kept, the hosts Jessica and Jim were so kind and accommodating making our experience that much more fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing secluded getaway.

The hobbit house was perfect!! The fresh snow was beautiful from the warm cabin! Walking the property was great. Jim was so kind helping us get unstuck as the gravel roads were rough for my car in the snow!

2 Happy Hobbits

My husband and I LOVED our stay in the Hobbit hole! It was the perfect nature retreat and we felt super cozy despite the chilly December weather. The city had to cut the power at 8am the morning of our check-out, but Jess & Jim made sure we got our waffle kit by bringing a generator right to our door so we could power up the waffle iron. They are wonderful hosts who care deeply for their land, their animals, and those who come to get away. We can't wait to come back :)

Holesome Hobbit Hole

The Hobbit Hole on the Hill was thee most cozy place to spend in a snow storm. It didn’t matter we had to brave some snow, we were so warm and comfortable it was such a deeply wholesome feeling. We will always continue coming back to Windy Goat ❤️

Tiny Retreat Cabin on the Goat Farm

It’s a beautiful space, even - or especially- after leaf fall. In a valley with a mix of woods, shrubs, and meadows, and some wooded hills. The barnyard has the noisiest, most active and spirited farm animals I’ve ever seen. Sometimes the horses roam the grounds freely and approach you for treats. At sunset, the hills of surrounding properties are glowing yellow. Jess has created random, whimsical spaces all over the property that make it feel like an enchanted fairy forest.

Yurt Glamping on the Goat Farm

Highly recommend!! As Tolkien fans this was super fun! A perfect one-night stopover on a Thanksgiving trip. The Hobbit House was very cute and cozy. We enjoyed walking the trails, sitting by a campfire viewing stars, and just relaxing. There is a teeny kitchen set up for simple food prep. We cooked soup for dinner in the microwave and brought our own coffee, tea, and muffins for breakfast. *Be sure to note the bathroom situation - currently about 100 yards to a (very clean!) porta-potty and a couple min walk down hill to a fully plumbed bathroom. The shower is outdoors - walls but no roof. So, like a campground. So if that kind of set-up does not work for your own situation then this may not be a great fit. (We knew this going in and was fine for us.) We would definitely consider staying again and enjoying one of the yurts or cabins if passing this way again.

Yurt Glamping on the Goat Farm

Queen Armadillo yurt was magical! We arrived when it was dark and had a little trouble finding our spot since it was back a little farther but the owner helped us with directions. Once we walked into the yurt and turned on the lights, we were all so impressed with how warm and cozy it felt. We enjoyed the firepit and the super cool hammock net that is installed just outside the yurt. In the morning, we walked around the trails a little bit and then the waffle bar was delivered which was really fun. Feeding the animals was our favorite part. The ducks went absolutely bonkers for the grapes and made us light so hard. The horses and alpacas were total sweeties. One of our most favorite family getaways ever and we will come back to stay again this spring!

Retreat with the animals

We absolutely loved our time at Windy Goat Acres! Every corner of the property was enchanting and creative. Jim and Jessie were amazing hosts. Incredibly communicative and were eager to share their passion for their animals. We got to spend a lot of time interacting with the animals (goats, pigs, llama, emu, rabbits, horses, barn cats, peacocks, ducks and chickens) and they were all super friendly. Jim was an awesome bartender at the garden pop up bar. The tiny house was well equipped with all the essentials and nearby an indoor restroom. We can’t wait for our next stay!

Yurt Glamping on the Goat Farm

Everything was wonderful! We loved our cabin and the beautiful surroundings. I came with my two city children, 11 and 13, and they had the most wonderful time with all the animals. We opted for the extra rabbit and llama experiences, a cup of animal feed, and piggy popsicles. Jess was a wonderful host and responsive through text to any questions we had and for scheduling our experiences. Thank you for giving my city kids a magical farm experience!

The Llama Llama Sunrise Cabin is beautiful! It's very cozy and inviting. I was worried, unnecessarily, that I'd forget to pack things - Jess has the cabin stocked with everything you may need. The big windows were beautiful at night. You can see the stars from the bed. We enjoyed exploring the property and meeting the animals. It was a very peaceful experience with wine in the tub under the stars and coffee on the deck in the morning while watching the animals.

Windy Goat Acres is such a cute and quaint farm. My friend and I stayed in the tiny cabin, although there are larger cabins and yurts available to rent. The tiny cabin was perfect for a quick weekend getaway for the two of us and my small dog. There is quite the variety of animals on the farm that made for a unique trip as well. The hosts were very nice, very responsive to texts, and gave us privacy.

We booked a quick couples getaway to Windy Goats are were pleasantly surprised. The cabin had everything we could have needed and more - air fryer, hot plate, microwave, coffee maker + coffee, fridge, towels, comfy bed and a relaxing view. We loved walking around and getting to see the animals in such a laid back vibe. At night we popped over to the garden bar to hand out and have a drink. What a magical setup. We ordered the add on wafffles in the morning and they were delish! Plus a bit of fun to have it all brought to you to make in the morning. Would recommend checking this gem out!

We loved Lady Morphia’s! Cozy and comfortable space. Loved the fireplace& fire pit on a cool fall evening. Would’ve loved to stay longer to go through the great book collection in the loft bedroom. Morning coffee on the front porch with the Bohemia Alps views was a lovely way to start the day.

Amazing camping/farm experience!

The entire trip was wonderful! The Queen Armadillo's Yurt was well supplied and very comfortable. We were thrilled to find so many hidden treasures of various artwork and activities as we explored the area. The goat social was a favorite as well as feeding the animals. Finding the horses freely wandering the farm throughout the day was so peaceful. This will definitely be an annual trip for us.
