To be transparent, I booked at 4pm and showed up at 9pm. However, we were greeted by a very rude intoxicated who demanded to know why we didn't contact him - i did, in fact i payed him and messaged him. He said "i dont bite, but my dog does", it was very aggressive and scary and he made no attempt to control it as we walked by. Then our room had cigarette butts, garbage and the bed was full of holes and he gave us dirty blankets. He directed my fiance to the "composting toilet" that was actually a home depot 5 gallon bucket. He said theres also a portapotty but he doesnt clean it because HE doesn't use it, only the guest use it. "I don't wanna clean it so I just don't look at it" he said. It was filthy. We stayed in the bungalow and it was filthy, absolutely nothing like the photos. The fact that they offer meals is unbelievable to me. Maybe we were too last minute and they really didn't check to see we were coming, but this was 1/10 experience for us.

Apparently the host didn’t realize that the property currently looks like a squatters encampment and fortunately I had the presence of mind to check out the property before dark because if I can come to this location after the hikes I had planned for the day this encounter would have ruined this part of the trip for sure. This property needs to be removed from the hip camp listings ASAP.

Anthony is a great guy that doesn’t just want you to stay on his property, he wants to build a community of places to gather.
He was easy to communicate with and gave great instructions on how to find his property. He had a fire going for us when we got there and we were able to get our dinner going.
We were car camping and there was a hot outdoor shower and a place where we could have prepared food had we wanted to. We were cooking foil pack dinners so we just threw them into the cools from the fire.
It is a bit rustic but you will have everything you need to camp for a day or two! Happy Camping!!!

I loved glamping at this Bungalow with my friend. It was a serene location that provided amazing energy. The room was perfect size, with great airflow. We arrived late in the afternoon and Anthony made sure he welcomed us with a smiling face and showed around the property. I think what topped off this experience was seeing his dogs beautiful puppies.

We loved this place and would definitely stay again. The property is beautifully landscaped and the host and his family were very accommodating and friendly! We booked a farm to table dinner, breakfast, amd the smoothie while we were there and everything was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend this place!

Anthony and his set up are fantastic for any sort of trip. We kept warm even in cooler temperatures in the morning. My girls immediately bonded with his 3 girls and played around tons on the property. Very safe and had a great night's sleep! Would come back to stay at the bungalow. Lots to do and see on property especially the zip line

Best place to stay around the Volcanoes National Park. Anthony and his family are amazing hosts, went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable and they shared great tips to visit the island.
Don’t miss the dinner option when staying there!

Had a great time camping outdoors in a rain forest seclusion, bathroom was clean, hosts were more than accommodating and fresh grown fruit smoothies for breakfast. We arrived late and hosts set out markers (cones) which helped find it late at night.

What a beautiful place!
Anthony and his family are wonderful hosts. They are a wholesome, kind, caring family that make you feel at home, part of the Ohana. Good people, good conversations.
Get the meals! It was an easy way to travel and not worry about where to eat. And the food was amazing! Anthony was very accommodating and willing to make the meal whenever I arrived. I had supper upon arrival even though it was 7pm, and breakfast the next morning. Both were amazing, healthy options.
The outdoor shower was a must on my list. It was hot and had shampoo, conditioner and soap available.
The large cabin window allowed a view of the sunrise.
They have 2 beautiful, friendly dogs and ducks that meander around. The grounds are a beautiful rainforest, so many varieties of tropical plants.

We loved staying in the bungalow. It was very cozy and the whole property was really cool. The dogs (especially the puppies) were the cutest and Anthony and his whole family was super nice. Would definitely stay here again :)

My children and I had an amazing time at Misty Mauna Farms… almost too good, as my kids wanted to get back instead of exploring elsewhere. What they have done with their home is truly magical. It is prettier than most resorts on the island. They have a beautiful family who instantly bonded with my two kiddos. They gave them Hawaiian nicknames and sang us Hawaiian songs. The land itself is awesome and we all felt safe/secure. Beds were comfy enough and the bungalow worked well for what we needed. The stars and farm were beautiful. We also enjoyed hearing the rain on the tin roofs overnight, frogs, and ducks. We opted to do the home cooked dinner and were so thankful we did! It was delicious!! We were bummed we only got for just one night. The Altima I rented had no problem on the dirt roads getting out there. Know that it’s an outdoor shower and portapotty, but it was the cleanest I had ever seen. We had zero issues with it. My kids are already talking about how they want to come back and stay here again! Highly, highly recommend!!

Anthony and his family were so sweet. The place was pretty clean and they had hot water for the shower. The only bad point is, it was hard for me to find the place. Otherwise, I honnestly loved it! Would recommend it!

We were alone in the rainforest in this camping! We had a great hot shower and the host was really welcoming. We keep good memories of his dog that was very lovely and protective against the neighbour dog which break his leash when we were there! His dog escorted us every time through his property !

Anthony and Victoria were very helpful and accomodating. Great hosts!! Location was just what we wanted, away from the noise of towns, people and vehicles. The road getting in to the location was dirt and could be rough in sections but that meant we could get the seclusion and quiet we were searching for. THE NIGHT SKY WAS AMAZING!!!
They are off grid but if you are a camper, off grid is what it is all about. The facilites worked great. Anthony even had a fire started for us when we arrived. Definitely a 5/5. When we come back to Hawaii we will make this our home base for multiple days.

Staying with Anthony and his family was great. It felt like we were visiting family almost immediately. His little girls were wonderful to my 4 yo daughter. Their dog is the cutest and such a good girl. Very modest but comfortable accommodations (water, electricity, shower, kitchen, etc). Eco-bougie if you will. It was amazing to hang out in the fresh air even if we were "inside". The coqui frogs are noisy at night but easy to get used to in my opinion. Their place is also pretty conveniently located on the Hilo side of the island; far enough but not to far from stuff if you need something. My family and I can't wait to book another visit.

Anthony and his family are the absolute greatest. Their land is beautiful and it’s clear they’ve been working very hard on it. What an amazing little piece of rainforest not too far off the beaten path. We enjoyed listening to all the coqui frogs at night and seeing their beautiful ducks and sweet dog. Anthony even helped us switch out our tire when we had a puncture. Incredible experience and would definitely stay again if back in the area.

The sweetest family! The kids were so sweet and kind to my daughter. The owners probably spend lots of time making the place look so pretty with all the flowers and plants. We wish we could stay longer. We hope to come back and visit the U pick farm when it's ready. Best luck, you can do it!!!

Anthony is so nice! He contacted us earlier that day told us how to check in and he was waiting for us even we arrived late. We feel really bad because we arrived pretty late and it passed his regular sleeping time but he was still waiting for us that day. Their dog was very friendly and she came out to greet us with love. We love her so much! And Anthony’s spot is awesome! It was like a garden and the whole family was so nice. They were like old friends. We hope we could stay longer but our tight schedule couldn’t let us. But next time we will definitely stay at their place again when we go back. Anthony is a entrepreneur. We wish you the best. Can’t wait to hear your stories next time.

We had a great stay at the farm. Highly recommend if you want to meet a great family and spend a night off grid. Anthony and his family were very hospitable, they built everything from scratch while preserving the land.
We opted for the farm to table dinner and breakfast, which were fantastic. The fresh fruit smoothies were delicious.
Great location, within 20 minutes of the volcano national park.

Brother C and his family made our stay incredibly special. They were very accommodating and thoughtful, from picking us up from the bus stop to showing us around their property to inviting us to go to town for a supply run. The land itself was gorgeous! So much love went into the making of their space. The way they worked the land caused minimal disturbances to the natural flow and all the different kinds of ducks living there made staying with them that much more magical.
