The family who own and operate Southern Comfort fell in love with the property while visiting friends and family over 25 years ago. They knew they would eventually want to retire here from the mainland one day. Fast forward to 2001 and they started their developments. After building their dream home, they knew they wanted to share the beauty to extended family and friends so they created their first site "Papaya Patch", converting their storage container into a private comfy stay and then built their 2nd site “Valley View Bungalow”. Both sites offer a queen bed and their own bathroom and outdoor shower access . Ocean views from the Papaya Patch and Valley Views from the bungalow. Southern Comfort is within 1 hour from Kīlauea Volcanoes National Park, approximately 10 minutes to volcano Park Kahuku Unit, 9 miles to South Point, 10 minutes into Naalehu town, and the perfect mid-point between Kona and Hilo. Plenty of beaches and hiking close by! I’m almost always available to offer some friendly tips and advice for your next adventure!Papaya Patch is a fully converted storage container with electric to plug in and charge whatever you may need and a comfy queen size bed. There is a utility sink and hose access just outside the structure. A full bath house is located 75 feet (approximately 30 steps) away with a flush tiolet, hot showers and bathroom sink.
