I had a great time camping! The site was clean and surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff was friendly, and the facilities were in good condition. It was peaceful, with clear skies and fresh air. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Dont go! Site was bad enough that we simply left without staying the night. Driveway slope was in excess of 20%, place was covered in junky shacks, and the only shower had surfboards for walls and was open to viewing from the pot smoking tenant living above it. Dogs were loose in the yard shitting everywhere. For $75 USD this was highway robbery.

Beautiful spot for a campsite! Lots of space and privacy, great view of the ocean, really nice hot outdoor shower. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place and wonderful people.
The place is very nice with a great view of the starry sky—we were even lucky enough to see an eclipse! The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything needed for cooking.
We slept in the car and were able to rest well. The next day, they gave us great suggestions on what to do on the island and recommended good beach spots. They even lent us a snorkeling mask! I highly recommend this place for an overnight stay and as a starting point since the locals have the best information on what to do on the island.

Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and Big Island with great recommendations suitable to your needs. Location is on an urban farm with great views of ocean, lovely bird sounds, lots of green space and quiet. If you have high standards of facilities, pay more money and go elsewhere.

Michael was very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. He was quick to make sure I was all set up for a comfortable night. The camp spot offers a gorgeous view of the sunset over the ocean. Not sure why everyone in the reviews is having trouble finding the place, my phone maps brought me right to the address and the one steep driveway indicated I was in the right spot

I love camping on on Tirtza's land. If sleeping in your vehicle, this was a perfect spot.Flushing toilet and a nasty refreshing shower, not so warm as hoped.

We stayed there News Years Eve. We contacted the host couple right before we arrived because the driveway was a little hard to locate. They were understanding about us contacting them at late notice. As we arrived he met us with some lilikoi and some bananas. The property has several terraces. The campsite with a picnic table has a nice view of the ocean. The host was genuine and knowledgable about the history of the property. His story about how he acquired the land combined with the older history provided a snapshot of the real Hawai’i.
The bathroom situation could be a whole lot better. The only working bathroom was behind the main house located at the top terrace.
It’s a fine place to pitch a tent for a night or two.
It’s not glamping by any means.

Beautiful view but the property is a unkept and the bathroom was pretty dirty. A cool hippie vibe if you’re comfortable with that, but if not the messiness could be a bit off putting.

Very difficile to find when it is dark and the spot is rudimentary.

I'm a professional Geographer and if you're a lover of the land, this is a very special spot. Being from lower Puna, I felt right at home here. The folks on the land were super respectful. I hesitated to book because there was a bad review on here. This is more of a collective hippie kind of scene than it is a square golf course in Florida kind of scene. If you're looking for a sterile environment this might not be for you, but you are a lover of the 'aina this is THE spot. The geography of the place is astonishing.

We came in late and left early the next day so for what we needed it was just fine - safe, quiet, good location with a great view. I wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay though… lots of potential for this to be an amazing spot, but overall missed the mark for us. Parts of the property looked like a junk yard, which wasn’t great as we were camping with two young kids, and the bathrooms were pretty dirty. It looked like the property was being worked on though so I’m super hopeful this becomes an amazing spot to camp! With a few minor changes could be really awesome.

We stayed at Tirtza’s for 2 nights, should have booked longer. Loved the tent spot, and the sunsets were amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot we got tons of great recommendations and fresh fruits! At night is harder to find but there is a signed however the name isn't the same as the one on Hip Camp but is just beside the cemetery and opposite to 6 mile sign.

We camped around the island and had our best night sleep here. Not sure why but the elevation and associated drop in temperature probably had a lot to do with it. For guys looking just for a quiet place to pitch a tent this place is great. Not family or wife recommended because the bathroom and kitchen are disgusting. If this was cleaned-up it would be a great place.
Phone calls and messages through Hipcamp were never answered. We learned when we were there that Tirtza just runs the website. Fortunately we found the place (thanks to directions in a comment) and Michael who owns and manages the place was there working on the yard. He's a nice friendly guy who showed us around the gardens and gave us samples of the fruit. But his vocabulary is limited to mostly 4-letter words.

The tent camping spot is great. Lush grass, picnic bench, great view. Getting to the place is difficult, as there are no signs, no phone number to call, and even the neighbors don’t know about this place. The kitchen area is a disaster.

We had a delay in our flight arrival. After renting the car, it was 8:15am. We drove to the address provided on the app but were unable to find it. There is no street number listed on the road that matches the one on the website, nor a sign that says 'Keōpū Farms'. When we tried to make a phone call, we found that we were not allowed to contact the host after 8am as per the instructions in the booking document. Out of frustration, we turned back to Kona and booked an expensive room at the hotel. It was not a good experience at all!

It was a nice spot to camp, luckily we ran into Tirtza to help us find the entrance to the farm (next driveway to the right of the Dotour farm). Beautiful views, shower was nice at the end of a long day at the beach! it was close to Kona town (~15 minutes) and a lovely cafe we went to called White Nene Coffee Roasters, as well as other coffee farms.

This was an amazing way to start our trip to Big Island. We were given amazing recommendations and felt right at home on the campsite. Amazing location, views, and felt super safe. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Waking up at Tirtza’s was a beautiful way to start our day. The host was kind, generous and took us in at the last minute when we found ourselves without a place to stay for the night. The view is gorgeous and the spot has toilet, sink and shower which is very helpful.
