Nice private cabin and shared bathroom as described. Charger available for devices. No kitchen but Eddie was very nice and offered to keep ice in his freezer and brought coffee in the morning. Toilet and hot shower work well. Good value for the price given it's Hawaii and perfect location close to South Point!

We had a wonderful time staying there and Brannon was a fantastic host and took great care of us. The ocean view was amazing and it was nice to have so much open space. Also the other people staying there were really fun to hang out with and it was a great community. Also the location is really easy to get to and the roads are good all the way there. The L&L Hawaiian Barbecue restaurant was right down the road and it had great food

Jacaranda Overlook
Eddie’s place is awesome! Great views, great vibes. The entire property is on top of the 1907 Mauna Loa lava flow. There is a nice flat spot that is perfect for a camper van, and it opens out to an incredible vista of lava and the Pacific in the distance. We felt super secluded and safe during our stay, while also being just a short drive from great snorkeling and other attractions along the SW region of the Big Island. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed at the end of a long day. Eddie is a great host and he and his two dogs, Coconut and Ocho, made us feel very welcome. Just book it! Mahalo Eddie 🤙

Breathtaking views! The best bathroom and the kindest host. Something to note is that the site is right by the house if you don’t mind. Overall one of the most beautiful remote site! (Don’t drive down to the lower part of the property like me, volcanic rocks are no joke on an incline)

Eddie (and his two awesome and friendly dogs!) was very welcoming and a great host - it's the little things that make a great stay. The cabin was basic, but comfortable enough and met out needs. Overall would recommend.

Eddie’s place rocks! Giant lava rock mountains everywhere. He has a spot for RVs and vans to park and sleep—it looks out over the ocean. It’s so quiet here and there’s a lot to take in. We had an especially interesting stay since it was the evening of a tsunami warning. Eddie reassured us we were safe at 1400 feet and let us borrow his binoculars :) nice bathroom, two sweet dogs, just a really great evening exploring the lava terrain and looking out at the island below. Cool rainbow eucalyptus in the driveway! Eddie’s place forever!

I had a fantastic two-night stay in the “SHE” shed, which featured a cool mood lighting! The area was incredibly peaceful for sleeping, and the cabin had an amazing cross breeze that ensured a comfortable night's rest. While there is air conditioning, it wasn't necessary. The views were spectacular, with beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and great opportunities for stargazing. Eddie was very accommodating; he even built a fire for me so I could make s'mores! His dogs, Coco and Ocho, were incredibly sweet—Coco kept watch outside my door all night. The shower offered hot water, and having a flushing toilet was definitely a plus. Eddie is knowledgeable about the area and can guide you in the right direction, no matter what journey you're on! I would definitely stay again. Thanks!

Eddie’s place worked out great for us in our rented campervan. Had a nice flat spot for us to park, just a few steps away from a clean toilet & hot shower. Views from our spot were great. A little vog hazy with eruptions going on, but could still see South Point. Great sunset! Eddie and his pups were super friendly and welcoming. Good dude! Would definitely stay here again.

Thanks Eddie for your warm welcome and easy stay. The directions were solid. The shower, toilet, flat spot to camp were simple and appreciated as we were biking around the island. What a view! Beautiful warm winds, endless ocean and sky. Eddie made us a coffee in the morning and shared lovely conversations while packing up our bikes. He even offered to give us a ride back up to the highway. The 2 dogs Coco and Ocho are super cuties. Much Mahalo Eddie!

Incredible host and sight! Fav spot out of 5 places we stayed. Eddie was communicative and full of aloha. His property is something special and plan to spend your sunset there. The place is quiet, toilet is clean, everything you need. Eddie made us a bonfire 🔥

My husband and I were on our honeymoon. There was awful communication before, during, and after. We were unable to stay there due to poor directions. When we called and texted for clarification, there was no response. We ended up driving 2 extra hours and sleeping in our car at a Walmart. Such a disappointing way to spend an evening of our honeymoon.

We spend one night in Eddie’s shed, it worked great for a simple spot to crash. Eddie was very helpful and had a lot of local knowledge.

I can’t say enough good things about Eddie! He was very welcoming even after a whole day of had work. We arrived during rain and we only had a campsite rented. Eddie offered us a small cabin so we don’t have to set up a tent in the rain. He did not ask for extra money. Also he offered us clean towels, we had bed with clean sheets an outdoor bathroom with warm shower. His property is nice and big with stunning views of the ocean and south point. Eddie has two very friendly dogs that I wanted to take home with me. The communication was clear, directions to property accurate and easy to follow, no 4 by 4 needed to get there. You enter through a secure gate. We had a lovely time chatting with our host, and I hope to return there one day. I highly recommend his camping site. Eddie showed us real aloha. This was our first stay with Hipcamp. Thank you for your hospitality.

Eddie is an extremely accommodating and friendly host. We spent our first night at his place and came back for the last one cause we loved it so much. His place is super quiet and easy to find, shared bathrooms are clean and having a hot shower after days spent in campsites was just great. We would definitely come back again!

Easy to locate site having to drive in late at night. Eddie was very responsive and accommodating to booking error glitch. Really appreciated the access road is paved and gated. Such a peaceful starry filled night at camp.

Just finished camping 6 nights on the big island. Eddie was hands down the best host we had. Made sure we had everything we needed. Let us borrow one of his ladders because our roof top tent did not come with one. It was great to have a flushing toilet and a hot shower. Ocho and Coconut were very friendly, our favorite dogs of the trip. Eddie gave us a cup of coffee that his friend grew on the island, best coffee we had all week. His property also has great sunset views.
Two things to note -
Eddie's land is in a gated community, make sure you get in contact with him before you head out to his place. The town just above him does not have the best cell service.
Check the actual local weather, specifically for wind. If it's going to be windy there are a few places you can tuck away to get out of it, but if you don't you could be in for a long windy night.

Great spot to pitch a tent, great ocean view, incredible stars. We tent camped for one night in between a few days in the national park and heading to the airport for a morning flight. It was just what we needed, and Eddie was an ideal host. Very nice shared bathroom and shower and some nice dogs too. Would have liked to camp there longer.
