Biltmore RV Park stands out as a unique destination due to its rich history and prime location just 5.5 miles from Savannah's historic district. Established in 1958 by Mr. and Mrs. William Hiers, this family-owned park has been welcoming travelers for over 67 years, offering a blend of nostalgia and modern convenience. Bill Hiers, a WWII merchant marine veteran, and his wife Norma embarked on a journey across the country in a trailer, which inspired them to create a welcoming space for fellow travelers. After experiencing the challenges of finding suitable parks during their travels, they decided to settle in Savannah, a city close to Bill's roots and where Norma had previously worked as a nurse. Situated on a picturesque 5-acre wooded site along US Hwy 17, the park was designed to provide ample space and privacy for guests while preserving the area's natural beauty, including many majestic oak trees. Bill and a friend cleared the land by hand, creating individual sites that allow visitors to enjoy the serene surroundings. The park is adorned with azaleas, planted after a local doctor encouraged residents to beautify the city, and these vibrant blooms create a stunning display each March. Today, Biltmore RV Park is conveniently located near various attractions, including outdoor activities, restaurants
