Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape! Located in Weeki Wachee on the Mud Spring between the Gulf Of Mexico and Weeki Wachee River. Kayaks are provided for adventures on the water. Head upriver to Weeki Wachee River or down river to paddling trails or the Gulf! There is a park style grill on site, an outdoor sink and a restroom with a toilet and a sink, all steps away from your camper. On site, vintage 1960's era small boat rentals are available for exploring the surrounding waterways and Weeki Wachee River. The property sits on an Old Florida natural setting on the Mud River and the Mud Spring, with 500 feet of waterfront. Property was originally a fish camp with a 3 bedroom main unit surrounded by 4 efficiency rooms. The motel is in the process of being lovingly restored for future guests. We hope all of our guests that get the opportunity to stay in this beautiful area are able to connect with nature and recharge.Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape! The camper is small, consisting of a dining table between two cot sized benches that will be your sleeping area and an entry area where there is the cabinets and counter. You will likely have to stoop when standing inside, depending on your height. If you like camping, you will love this! It is a unique glamping experience where you can stay out of the rain and weather, be warm or cool with either heater or AC, have electric, refrigerator, microwave, coffepot and TV.

Great spot to experience Weeki Wachee, great unique accommodations for two with kayaks included making this an exceptional value. Nice secluded quiet spot. Would 100% recommend and plan to stay her again.

Absolutely loved camping here!!! We were extra happy with the location and all the great stuff to enjoy!! The outdoor shower felt so great after kayaking!! Manatees right outside in the morning....... How could anyone be unhappy in this little piece of paradise!?! Be sure to go check out the Silver Dolphin for breakfast in the morning!!! Ps, if you're not fun sized, just get dressed in the bathroom and don't forget to duck a little on your way in to bed lol

The Funky Flamingo
I had such a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable experience at the Funky Flamingo. The camper is awesome, just right for 1 person or a couple. The a/c, fridge, microwave and tv worked perfectly. The live in caretakers were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return and recommend to my friends and family.

I loved my stay here! Super cute camper set up, and right on the water. It was perfect for a little getaway. I loved that they had kayaks on site to use. I will definitely be back!

The Fantastic Funky Flamingo
The Funky Flamingo
My daughter and I spent 4 glorious days at The Funky Flamingo and we can’t wait to go back! What an absolutely spectacular experience. Ladies, if you need a getaway and you appreciate real, old world Florida, this place is for you. The camper is situated on a peninsula between a canal that leads to the Mud River and Mud Spring and we used the kayaks available for guests, every day. We paddled to Hospital Hole, saw dolphins and manatees (both at camp and in the Weeki Wachee River) and tons of fish and other wildlife. The camper itself is well appointed and comfortable, with ice cold air if you’re there in the warmer months. We appreciated the spacious mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, but we were able to set up a griddle outside the camper to cook some of our meals. The beds were super comfy, and we loved opening up the windows in the morning to let the morning breeze blow through. LOVED the market lights outside the camper at night and the outdoor shower was hot and pretty special. We used the fire pit the last night at camp … so cozy and secluded. Check in was a breeze and both Andrea, and Tabitha who takes care of housekeeping, are awesome. Check out the Weeki Wachee Outpost for ice and other necessities. Definitely put The Funky Flamingo on your list!

We loved the site and everything it had to offer! The binder full of guest reviews and insight was incredibly helpful when it came to our kayaking trip. We were able to see 2 manatees and it was a surreal experience. Couldn’t recommend the place enough!

The Funky Flamingo
We absolutely loved the Funky Flamingo tiny camper!! It was such a great/fun weekend. Everything was there that was needed-did not, by far, need to bring as much as we did and it was clean! I personally loved, loved, loved the outdoor shower! Right on the water and kayaks provided! The only thing that was mild, was that we had to duck to stand in camper but we were prepared for that and were out and about most of the time anyway-no biggie at all. Still had the best time!! Thank you so much for an enjoyable stay.

What a perfect spot for a hipcamp. Right on the water. Beautiful views. The camper was ADORABLE. Everything was well kept, clean. Staff was helpful and amazing. Having a TV in the camper was a plus during the rain. Frig and microwave a plus. I would definitely revisit. Thank you

I think is the best lodging I have done during my trip in USA I am in love with flamingo it was perfectly clean, quiet, calm. free Kayak nice river and weeki wachee is really a paradise.

The BEST PLACE EVER
The Funky Flamingo
My husband and I stayed here for our 12-year wedding anniversary. It was a lovely little camper and the surroundings were beautiful. We saw so many manatees alligators birds and friendly people. The camper was very adequate for sleeping and staying cool it was also super cute. The kayaks that are provided are really fun to use and see the wildlife even more up close. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants an outdoor adventure get away in my humble opinion it was perfect.

Super cute camping spot, the perfect size for a weekend getaway. Being right beside the river is really convenient, especially when you can just grab a kayak and go out whenever you want.

Too small for Wisconsin adults!!

The camper is super cute! It's also VERY TINY! We couldn't stand up all the way inside, the beds were way to skinny to accommodate a Wisconsin sized adult. There was a small heater in the camper, and it got cold enough to want to use it, but there were no instructions and I didn't want to burn the camper down! Fabulous location, free kayaks and a cute little mini beach, super adorable decorations a throughout, but too dang small for regular people!

Really special place , the grounds were kept up and beautiful. The funky flamingo is a cute little spot that we will definitely visit again. Tabby was amazing as well very helpful with knowledge of the area .

The Funky Flamingo
We loved our stay at the Funky Flamingo! The river is gorgeous. We enjoyed sunset and morning paddles around the Mud River and to the Hospital Hole. The shower was hot and everything was clean. The AC was cold. There are also some great restaurants nearby. I should note that this camper is very small though. If you are tall, you might not be comfortable. I am 5’5”, and my head touched the ceiling. The beds are smaller than twins. The owners do have other rentals on site. I am hoping to try one of them in the future because the location is amazing, and they put a lot of care into the property.

Absolutely wonderful Glamping!

My husband and I loved staying in this cute camper! This is our first time “glamping,” but with this heat wave in Florida, air conditioning was a must for us! This place is very tiny but it had everything we needed and so much more than anything you would have if you were actually camping! They had a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, coffee, sugar , creamer, glassware plates, etc. They even had a tv. And it was decorated so cute!! We loved our stay! There is also a shower, toilet and sink just a few steps away in another building. There were Two single kayaks for us to use for free. The owner responded very quickly to all of my questions. We would gladly stay here again!
