We loved camping at Ronald’s place. Very quiet and secluded. We only stayed overnight, but had the choice of his space which was fun to navigate in our SUV (if you have air suspension would recommend to jack it up for better ground clearance!). Thanks for having us!

Great spot! We stayed one evening to practice our new tent and set up. Had a fire and crazy winds. We were off season and loved the ease and location. Owner was quick to respond.

Very quiet and private camping areas. Communication was excellent—Ronald was quick to respond to messages, which we appreciated. We did not get a chance to check out the horses, but maybe next time. Host was super nice—came over to chat with us before we left. Would definitely stay here again.

This was my second time staying at Ronny’s site because I liked it so much the first time. He is an incredibly hospitable host — he even came by to help me get a fire started, which I appreciated so much as a solo traveler. The campsite is peaceful, private, and a perfect place to relax and feel safe. It was another restful and positive experience, and I would happily stay again.

My 7 year old Son and I recently camped at pegasus farms and we had such an amazing time. Ronald was a great host who answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We made a fire, cooked dinner & had smores. You can take a light walk through the campsite to his animals where you can meet horses & cows during feeding time. I left relaxed, feeling peaceful and recharged my batteries. The only bad part was that we wish we stayed longer! Thank you again Ronald and we are looking forward to staying with you again soon.

We enjoyed our quick stay at this site. We got in late, but Ron met us and showed us to our large campsite. He brought us firewood which was really great. The kids enjoyed stopping by the farm and meeting the horses on our way out in the morning.

We loved stayed here! The grounds were cozy and lovely. So easy to get to, but we felt really tucked away in the woods! Ronald was communicative and flexible, a wonderful and friendly host!

We wanted to hang a hammock tent and Ronald was so accommodating. CT state parks don’t allow hammocks straps so it’s nice to find this place. Great property! Would definitely go again.

As a family from a few towns over we never expected to find this unique spot in Terryville. The camping was nice and private despite other campers staying at other sites. The hosts were our favorite hosts out of all of the camping we’ve done. We cannot wait to come back!

This campsite was everything we hoped for and more. It’s perfect for self-sustainable, off-grid campers looking for peace, privacy, and a deep connection with nature. The site is quiet and secluded, with a very clean and well-stocked outhouse—such a thoughtful detail that made a big difference.
The host was incredibly friendly and considerate, striking that perfect balance of being helpful while still respecting our space. The woodlands surrounding the site are absolutely beautiful, and the fireflies that come out at dusk created such a magical atmosphere.
A definite highlight was watching the farm animals—seeing the horses and cows all peacefully eating hay together was entertaining and soothing.
We did have an encounter with a bear family during our stay, which was both awe-inspiring and a good reminder: come prepared and practice smart wildlife safety. This is truly a wild and natural area, and that’s part of its beauty.
We left feeling grounded, inspired, and already planning a return trip. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a genuine off-grid experience with a touch of farm charm and real wilderness.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay at this horse farm! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality by Farmer Ron, whose kindness and genuine love for the land made us feel right at home. He greeted us with a smile, gave us a quick tour, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Waking up to the soft sounds of horses and birds was incredibly calming. The property itself is spacious and serene—ideal for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about caring for the animals and the land. A highlight of our trip was spending time with the horses—especially Chunky! Chunky the horse stole our hearts with his sweet, gentle personality and his big, lovable eyes. We looked forward to seeing him every day.
There were thoughtful touches everywhere, from firewood availability to clean facilities and helpful local recommendations. Whether you're an animal lover, an outdoor enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique and peaceful place to stay, this horse farm is a hidden gem.
We’re already planning our next trip back—highly recommend! And give Chunky a carrot for us!

Ron was very helpful getting me, my friends and our gear up to the campsite. He showed us where to get plenty of fire wood and we had a great time. Highly recommend.

The campsite is located in the Connecticut mountains and has plenty of privacy. Ron the host was super agreeable and gave us the choice to pick our site and arrange it anyway we saw fit. He was also very responsive and brought us a load of split wood very quickly after it was requested. It was just what we needed for my girlfriend who was a 1st time camper she felt safe and area is very quiet in the evening, there was no one else there, but the sites are spread far enough apart so you can have that tucked away feeling. Since we had our vehicle we brought everything we wanted and did not have to worry about hauling gear. We will definitely go back to check the horses.

Camping on Ronald’s land was such a cool experience! He was incredibly kind, communicative and showed us to the site on his atv. We had plenty of space to spread out and had such a nice time in this beautiful area

Absolutely loved our stay here! Our hosts were incredible. They gave us extra resources and did way more then needed. I felt better taken care of here then the hotels Ive stayed at. They were super clean, super friendly , and super helpful. My kids loved all their animals! They got to feed them and pet them. Also, I didn't deal with a lot of mosquitoes. That was amazing. If your looking to get the camping experience and live within CT this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed!

Ron was a great host. Greeted us even when we arrived late (around 10pm ET) and helped us get a fire going and stayed for a great conversation.
The next day we spent time with the horses and Ron did a great job providing details around raising horses, their behaviors and personalities, etc.
It was an incredible opportunity and I look forward to visiting regularly.

My husband and I drove out to Ronald’s property and drove right passed the driveway! We called him and he picked up with a cheery “Turn around!” Every time we had questions Ronald was quick to respond! He was super accommodating and we enjoyed a chat with him and his sister just after dinner. At this point we had been on the road for 13 days and was ready for a true boondocking experience! We loved the privacy and the peacefulness of his land. He built an amazing outhouse that was clean and stocked! He offered potable water and made sure we didn’t need anything before he left the site. We would definitely return! Thank you for a great stay!

Very private, great setting, my dogs and I were the only ones there… firewood provided free, which is always nice plus seating around the campfire, an outdoor rug, it was so comfortable— even a fire extinguisher just in case!!! Ronald was a responsive host. I’ve been going back and forth between Georgia and Maine for close to five years so have had lots of Hipcamps— this is one of the best.

Ron was an extremely friendly guy! Super easy to get in contact with and responds very quickly. The site was open, peaceful and beautiful. As a group of twelve with one pet, we were all able to still stay close together due to the open layout. We were all satisfied and hope to book again soon!
