Cha-Wi-Ma Co-op stands out as a unique, member-owned campground that fosters a strong sense of community and collaboration among its members. As a private, non-profit organization, we are governed by a dedicated team, including a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and a Board of Directors, all of whom are committed to the effective management of our campground. Each member has a voice in decision-making, ensuring that everyone plays a role in shaping the campground experience. Our campground offers an alternative to traditional seasonal camping. After a one-time buy-in fee, members enjoy significantly reduced annual costs, which are shared among our 40 members. To maintain these low seasonal rates, we emphasize in-house work, encouraging each member to contribute. This collaborative effort not only helps keep costs down but also enhances social interactions, creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone works together for the betterment of our campground. Amenities at Cha-Wi-Ma Co-op include spacious sites, many equipped with their own or shared septic and grey water drains. Members can enjoy wireless internet access, a clubhouse featuring a large gathering area, a commercial kitchen, and a game room overlooking the scenic Natchaug River. Our bathhouse provides convenient shower facilities, and an easy-access dump station is available for all members
