Great for tent, car, or RV camping (no hook-ups available)! Enjoy exclusive use of this 5-acre property featuring trees, rock outcroppings, incredible mountain views, and a sweeping overlook of the valley. There is a porch swing available for guests. Before you leave, please disassemble it and place it next to the shed. Use at your own risk. Remote yet accessible by county road, the property is located just a few miles from Hartsel. Learn more about the South Park National Heritage Area online. Park County is a renowned destination for stargazing, fishing (Google "CO Dream Stream"), and hiking. The property entrance is at the valley floor. The land is gently sloped and features a fire ring, plenty of space for camping, and a hill that can be hiked for breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. The hillside features rock outcroppings and trees, while the lower portion is open and spacious. Our family has spent many hours here, lounging in hammocks among the trees, taking in the views from the overlook, playing capture the flag and catch, flying kites, enjoying campfire evenings, and stargazing under the wide-open skies. This location also serves as a fantastic launch point for adventures of all kinds. Whether your ideal getaway includes outdoor recreation or simply relaxing in nature, you'll find plenty to enjoy nearby. Explore scenic waters and trails at Eleven Mile State Park, enjoy riverside hiking and fishing in Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area, stretch your legs on the easy Coyote Ridge Nature Trail, go rafting with one of Buena Vista's guide companies, or simply stay on-site and enjoy the peace, quiet, and views until the stars come out. These experiences offer a wonderful mix of hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and relaxation for guests of all ages. Detailed directions will be provided after booking.**Read Property Description, this is a continuation** Once you leave Hartsel, you’ll travel primarily on dirt roads to reach the property. A 4x4 vehicle is typically not necessary — we’ve often driven the roads comfortably in a car or minivan. This is an undeveloped property, and the only structure on-site is a small shed that is not usable by guests. Please review the gallery photos for a satellite view of the property boundaries. Boundaries are marked with rebar posts. Please stay within these designated areas when setting up camp. All supplies, including ALL water, must be packed in, and all trash and human waste must be packed out. There are no toilets or facilities on-site, so guests MUST bring their own camping toilet and use it in a vehicle or privacy tent. We kindly ask that all guests follow “Leave No Trace” principles during their stay. Campfires are allowed as long as they are fully extinguished with water and all Park County fire bans and restrictions are followed. Please visit https://www.hartselfire.org for more information and current burn ban status, which appears in a banner at the top of the website. A fire pit/ ring is provided within the camping area, and we ask that you use only this designated fire ring. Please bring your own firewood. There may be wood in the pile; you are welcome to use it, but availability is not guaranteed. Small bundles of firewood can usually be purchased in Hartsel if needed. Please bring ample water, bug spray, and sunscreen for comfort and protection during your stay. Mountain weather can change quickly, and winds in Park County can sometimes be strong. Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their dependents while on the property. ATandT and Verizon work well around the site. We do not know about other cell providers. Please feel free to leave your cell coverage experience in the feedback after you stay to help other campers. NOTE: On occasion, there are free-ranging cattle herds. You will see evidence of them on the property. Most of all, we truly appreciate guests who treat the land with care and leave it clean and trash-free. Our family loves to retreat here and would love to keep sharing this view with all who enjoy and appreciate a peaceful escape into nature!
