Enjoy peaceful mountain surroundings with a private fire pit and campsite, a hammock for relaxing beneath the trees, a rustic outhouse, and a refreshing gravity-fed outdoor shower. Whether you're hiking, stargazing, or simply unwinding by the fire, this simple mountain retreat offers an authentic Colorado camping experience with the comfort of a cabin.Early 1900's mining and logging roads, with 100+ year old remnants of cabins and mines. Camp Hale, where the 10th Mountain Division trained for WWII, is directly below us. Ski Cooper ski hill is 1.5 miles away. HIstoric Leadville, Colorado is a 15 minute drive away. Backcountry snowboarding, hiking, biking, skiing, hunting, fishing etc., are all just outside the door. Moose, Bear, Elk, Pine Martens, Snowshoe Hare, and Mule Deer are abundant here. Let the Camprobber Birds land on your hand to eat a nut or seed. They are aggressive so keep food covered up or stowed.
