It's a nice quiet spot off the beaten path. Dan is a great host. This isn't an RV park with full hook-ups or anything. But there's a nice view of the surrounding hills and a cattle pen with cows and some chickens. A great place to park and take a break for a night or two.

Great little spot to camp for a bit. Dan is a great guy and was very helpful to me when I had some issues with my rv. Dan went put of his way to be helpful and offer options for me to get my rig fixed. I will definitely return. The view is great. Spots are near the road, but it is quiet and lots of animals to keep you company and views to calm you.

We had a great time at Dan’s Hipcamp! The cattle are a HUGE bonus! Obsessed! We didn’t spend a ton of time at the actual site but we had everything we needed there, access to water and electricity. Beautiful spot. Great location. Very close to SOOOO MANY THINGS! 10/10 recommend. :)

This is a beautiful, tranquil spot overlooking a lovely piece of land on the edge of Canon City, CO. We really enjoyed having the longhorns nearby. Our cats enjoyed them, too!

Quiet gravel lot aside a longhorn's pen. Easy access. While nearby road is well traveled during the day,it was empty at night. Lots of flies as to be expected but no strong odors. Fabulous sunset.

Hard to find at night

We arrived late at night and had a difficult time finding the entrance/parking spot. It was very dark and I couldn’t find the street number. I believe I saw a no trespassing sign which made me question if I was at the right place. It was convenient for our travels as it was close to the highway. We woke up to cows and roosters and hit the road. Thank you!

Loved camping here. The cows and steer were fascinating and peaceful to watch. The space was on gravel and even enough that I didn’t use my levels. Dan even set out an extension cord for me for electric. I brought my two dogs and they loved it. Would definitely recommend staying here over the many traditional RV parks around. Will be back!

This is a quiet spot, next to a small ranch of longhorn cattle and chickens. The location is less than 1/2 mile off US-50 and just 2 miles to the center of Cañon City. Walmart is less than a mile away. Expect to hear the roosters crow and hour before sunrise. 15amp electric was sufficient for my winter camping needs. I did not meet the host but correspondence via Hipcamp was good and quick. The spot is a gravel lot close to the road, but traffic is minimal.

We enjoyed 3 quite nights and visited the Royal Gorge and toured around the mountains. Camp area a little primitive and natural, big 12-14 point buck came by within 25 feet just before dark last night. We were right next to the Texas long horn cattle. If you don't know cattle, they are a curious sort. They are always interested in what you are up to, they will come to the fence and watch, they're funny. low mountains right across the street on other side. We will stay here again when in the area. 110v electric was good too. I think there is water but we didn't need any. Good sunsets too.

My friend and I pulled in at night, like in the dark, and Dan drove over and met us! He gave us some tips about the area and gave us an extension cord. The ground was nice and level and the place was clean. He has livestock as well.

Dan has by far been the best host regarding communication. He was quick to get back and answer any questions that I had.
Also, we needed to leave a day early to get a head start (due to snow). I didn’t think anything about it. Dan was concerned. After letting him know all was well, he reimbursed the night (What a host!).
The property was very peaceful. It was a great location regarding proximity to town.

Great little spot close to town. Served as a perfect base for our adventures in Canon City. Close proximity to town did mean a little road noise but that’s to be expected. Loved having electric hookup and our kids enjoyed the cows on the other side of the fence! Dan was very accommodating and quick to respond. Thanks for a great stay!

Dan has an amazing property. Beautiful, amazing views, quiet and secure. Remote, yet perfectively located near town and all of the outside activities Canyon City has to offer. Dan is a fantastic host. Super friendly, very accommodating and always in communication.

I stayed in the little field because it was easier for me to be level. I didn’t bring anything to help me level so the field worked great! Didn’t get to see the creek but maybe on my next stay:) I didn’t meet Dan but he answered all my questions and made recommendations for the area. I would definitely stay here again. It was nice and quiet and I actually slept great!
