Near Mesa Verde National Park
Within a 30-minute drive from the Mesa Verde.
Camp spots are just off the county road, easily accessed with a car or non 4 wd vehicles. Turning Beyond Ranch is comprised of 120 acres, camp spots are situated in the garden area. The view of the La Plata mnts is beautiful to the north, with an open field to the east. Cherry creek runs year round on the east bank past the field, just below the mnts. This is a safe area with most farm and ranches of 100 + acres. Location is convenient for a short drive to Mesa Verde park - approx 20 miles to entrance, 25 miles from Durango, or 45 miles to Farmington MM.

Turning Beyond Ranch has rough terrain, laden with pine and numerous other species of trees. Cherry creek runs the length of the valley with a deep canyon to the top of the Mesa on the east and west sides of the property. This particular camp spot is directly off the county road and can be accessed without a 4 wheel drive or truck. There is a canopy frame/tarp over ground covered area for eating or your tent. Space is slightly camouflaged by my garden. Other undeveloped areas are available by the water, in the valley by the barn, on top of the mountain to the west where you can view different mountain ranges, or up the canyon behind the ranch house where you will see and hear nobody. Inquire for prices on other spots for larger groups and camping situations (rv’s busses, horse trailers, ect)

This little treasure is conveniently located in a small rural farm community, right off hwy 140. The views of the LaPlata Mountains are magnificent, only 15 miles north and you can be there! What used to be the town gas station (currently being repurposed) sits in the middle of the lot facing the hwy. Camp and rv spots are on the back half of the lot, which is fenced off. There are several heritage apple trees which bear fruit every year. There are also a couple of apricot trees that produce dependent on the weather and a pear tree. It is truly a beautiful lot still undergoing some modification of purpose and pruning. If you come in the right season there are fruits and veggies available. Eggs (usually) always, other value added products in season.
