Colorado Meadows & Fishing Pond
We had this beautiful campsite all to ourselves. Melanie was great to communicate with and had the wagon, chairs and firepit all set up for us. We were able to angle our camper to give us some shade and privacy from the nearby road. The stars were spectacular, great hiking trails nearby, beautiful views, convenient to Denver area.

This was my second time camping on Melanie’s land and once again, it was fantastic! In this age of crowded Colorado camping, it’s so nice to know that I’m going to show up and have a private spot away from other campers to enjoy nature! The pond is so nice, home to turtles, fish and bull frogs serenading you at night! We were even lucky enough to see a bat feeding at dusk! The wagon is so helpful to haul your supplies to the other side of the pond and Melanie keeps the port-o-potty pristine! Thanks for another great stay!

This spot is such a little gem! It’s a lovely, shaded pond with beautiful views and several cozy hangout areas (benches around the campfire, rocking chairs and a table by one edge of the pond and bar chairs on another edge, a round table for 4, and a little kids picnic table!). Melanie was a wonderful host and made our stay so very enjoyable! We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful property! Would absolutely stay here again. Exactly as described. Host provided nice extras; some firewood, a kids picnic table, benches around fire pit and a dining table. Very lovely.
We were up over Labor Day so the road near the property was a little busy, otherwise our trip was peaceful.
Thankful to our hosts for sharing their great place with us.

It's true! The fish in that pond are humongous! Bring good bait though. I spent hours trying to catch a fish and nothing. No luck. But still, it was lots of fun for the kids nonetheless.

Great views, as pictured - easy access and just as described. No issues with GPS and we used our Apple Maps and our Harleys GPS.
The best port a potty we’ve ever used; told my husband it actually smelled refreshing. Thank you for that, it was much appreciated!
Had a storm roll in, winds do come off those mountains pretty nasty, so strap your tent down! This happens all over though, so nothing new to open field mountain camping - just prepared if you’re not aware of it.
We trailered our Harley CVO Street Glide and rode to red rocks - perfect roads and views! No worries accessing the site with a large or small trailer - lots of room to turn around in, as well. Perfect place to stay for experienced riders - as the road in is to be expected and washed in some areas and we only hit one little sandy area. Close to a large motorcycle community we did not expect and wish we had time to go and join.
The pond is great, lots of seating available - and room for groups.
Since covid we’ve transitioned our lives to overlanding vs international travel... we would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay close.

It doesn’t get much better than this little spot. It hits all of the camping touch points and then some and has easily become my family’s favorite place to throw a line and pitch a tent. Best part is it’s not even an hour away from Denver. You can tell the owner, Melanie, takes a lot of pride in her fishing hole but you truly will have to see it to believe it. My only reservation is writing this review because I’d prefer to keep it a secret!

We had a very relaxing trip for round 2. Our 2nd stay and we still loved it. Pups had a great time running and playing. Hubby loved the fishing. Lots of catch and release fun. Doe and fawn visited to check us out.

Our stay on Melanie’s property was incredible! The view was beautiful and it was so lovely to be able to relax, watch the turtles and go fishing in the private pond. The fire pit is huge with plenty of seating and provided firewood. The port-a-potty was very clean a nice touch for when nature calls! The wagon was much appreciated to haul our gear to the far side of the lake to set up camp. Our dogs were in off-leash heaven romping around the site, a nice change from what seems to be always crowded Colorado camping these days. Melanie was prompt and friendly with communication and even provided us with bug spray when we asked about where to buy some! We would definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful setting! Truly panoramic views from the campsite. Port-a-potty outhouse is…well, a port-a-potty outhouse—but clean, well-stocked withTP and hand sanitizer—and you are the only ones using since you are the only ones there! You can see Melanie’s house up on the hill and seeing its lights at night remind you help is really close in an emergency. There is a little highway noise, but really, hardly noticed it. The pond is very pretty and you can easily move the table and chairs within the trees and shade. Firewood is provided for a campfire at the designated fire pit with bench seating. The campsite and the picnic area are separate, so not ideal for those with mobility concerns—and the camping is open-meadow, so tent camping can get HOT! You will want to be able to make it around the pond to the wooded side. Melanie provides a wagon for hauling supplies back and forth (which was a very helpful surprise) on the pretty walk around the pond. And the pond!! There are BIG fish in there—and turtles! We had a lot of fun just spotting both as the sun shone through the water. It was the first time we ever tried our dogs off-leash and they had a blast chasing dragon flies! I have a health issue that makes mornings difficult and Melanie was willing to work with us on a delayed checkout time.
It was a truly idyllic setting and we had a marvelous time. We would certainly recommend it and would go again—in fact, we will!

Very nice and relaxing. Camping without the pups tied up, but running and playing is what camping is all about. The pond was fun catching Bass, letting the pups sniff, kick and releasing them back for another day. If quite, you will see deer, coyotes, local cattle and horses. Close to town yet far enough to get away enjoyed ourselves from the hustle and bustle. We will be coming out again. Thanks for providing a wonderful place to relax!!

Very clean camp site. We enjoyed fishing for bass in the pond. Great spot to take small children who want to catch fish. Nice fire pit, and a clean port-a-potty made it even better.
