Perched in the scenic Sierra foothills, our dry camping sites are celebrated for breathtaking panoramic views, open skies, and unforgettable sunrises and starry nights. It’s an ideal place to unwind, reconnect, and experience the outdoors in its raw beauty — without giving up the comfort of flushing toilets and hot, on-demand showers. Most of our sites are best suited for those who plan to explore during the day and return in the evening, as they receive full sun and have limited shade throughout the midday hours (during the summer months). For those looking to hang around camp during the day, we recommend bringing a shade canopy or pop-up to make your stay more comfortable. Whether you’re here for epic hikes, rock climbs, or peaceful views, our camp is a restful and rustic homebase nestled close to the wonders of Yosemite.

The Merced Campsite offers the most privacy, tucked away into a grove of cedar, pine, and oak trees. This site is for tents and small campervans only - there is not enough flat space for a large RV at this spot. There are perfect trees to set up a hammock, a picnic table, and plenty of space for tents to set up. It is a three minute walk to the bathrooms and showers. The Bridalveil Falls deck across the road is available for Merced Campers as well to access the views!

Camp at the top of our hill overlooking the Tuolumne Canyon. Tenaya Camp (#9) has a purple picnic table, space for a tent or a small camper van, and incredible views. Please park near the Purple picnic table. Take the 2 minute trail down to the bath house to use our hot showers and bathrooms, or walk down the more gradual 3-4 minute walk on the road. Please be cautious - there is a steep cliffside canyon near this camp. Note: This camp is a up a short, steep gravel road, some vehicles (trailers, large RV's) may have trouble getting up this hill. Feel free to reach out to us if you have questions about this road!

Camp at the top of our hill overlooking the Tuolumne Canyon. Tioga Camp (#11) has a light-blue picnic table, space for a small camper van, and incredible views. Please park close to the Blue Picnic Table. Beyond your site is a private space on the property, please ask Marty if you want to visit this area. Take the 2 minute trail down to the bath house to use our hot showers and bathrooms, or walk down the more gradual 3-4 minute walk on the road. Please be cautious - there is a steep cliffside near this camp, for adventurers, a place to pitch a small tent. There is potable water near the site in a white Yeti Water Cooler. Not for the faint of heart—this site sits right on the edge with jaw-dropping canyon views that will make your pulse quicken. From sunrise to sunset, the cliffs light up in color, offering one of the most dramatic panoramas around (Site#10) You’ll hear the rush of a nearby waterfall echoing through the canyon, adding to the wild atmosphere. It’s close to some powerlines, but that’s a small price to pay for front-row seats to nature’s raw beauty. Perfect for adventurous campers who like a little thrill with their morning coffee.

Come camp at our family-run river rafting company basecamp. We have been in operation for 50 years as a rafting business and we are excited to share the Tuolumne River Canyon views with you during your stay! This is convenient for groups that want to be close to electricity and the bath house. You can walk a short ways to look into the canyon. This is a convenient site for those staying in a van or camper. Located by our bathhouse with easy access to hot showers and flushing toilets, and access to wi-fi, this site has all of the amenities you may need during your stay. This site is only for those staying in a van, camper, or car. There is no spot to pitch a tent around this site, it is van only. This site is perfect for people who prefer to be a very short distance from restrooms and showers and would like to have wi-fi available right at camp. If you are looking to plug in electricity, please let us know so we can make sure we can accommodate you.  We are located 15 minutes' driving distance from the entrance to Yosemite National Park (note that between May 20 to September 30th you will need a reservation to get into Yosemite) and 15 minutes driving to the historic town of Groveland. Our campsites offer sweeping views of 4 waterfalls, vibrant sunrises and sunsets, three different river canyons, and a classic Sierra Nevada foothills ecosystem.  We are less than 5 minutes away from Rainbow Pools, a local swimming hole, and 5 minutes away from the Lucky Buck, a tasty diner. We are more than happy to give you suggestions on places to explore around Yosemite, Stanislaus National Forest, and Groveland.

Wonderful Campsite near Yosemite 🌲

My husband and I had an amazing stay at this campsite! The bathrooms were extremely clean and well-maintained, with two separate restrooms each equipped with a sink. The showers had reliably hot water. The campsite itself came with a picnic table and benches, a fire ring (with propane available to rent for an additional fee), and a nicely leveled area perfect for setting up tents. There were convenient small water stations nearby. The views were beautiful, and the site was very easy to find thanks to the clear and detailed instructions from Leeza and Tom. They were incredibly responsive and diligent hosts, making the entire process—from locating the site to settling in—smooth and stress-free. The location is also excellent: just about 40–50 minutes from the Yosemite entrance, making it a convenient and affordable option for exploring the park. For our first time camping in a car and visiting Yosemite, this was the ideal spot. We really enjoyed our stay and are already planning to return. Perfect for a one-night weekend getaway from the city. Highly recommended! 🌲✨

The Hipcamp was perfect for our RV, we just pulled right up to the deck. No worries about rocks or stickers! Morning view with coffee was peaceful and the starry night was beyond words. The water fill station was convenient and the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We came out to enjoy Yosemite and we were so close to the gate we lounged in the morning and got to the park so early we had the best parking space for our 24ft. Lastly, there are beautiful river spots on the way to Yosemite. Hope the review was helpful!

As usual, the site was very clean and bathrooms were kept well. We booked site 8, a bit higher up with views of the waterfall. Sleeping with the sound of gushing water is something you don't do everyday :)

It was honestly the perfect spot. Beautiful views, warm and very clean showers and bathrooms. Close to the park and or a nice quiet weekend in groveland. Would definitely book with them again! Super responsive and kind!

Lovely campsite on the way in or out of Yosemite. We were there in mid October and the weather was perfectly cool. I would have loved to stay on the way out but weather on 120 changed our plans. Nice to have a clean, warm showers and clean normal bathrooms just a short walk away from Camp 4. Appreciated the offer of towels though we had our own. Lovely views from the site, of rolling hills and the waterfalls below. Enjoyed a nice evening and morning sit on the platform taking it all in.

Stayed at Upper Tuolumne Camp with my family and had a great experience. The campsite itself is on the smaller side, but it still fit my full-size truck and rooftop tent setup without issue. The framed sand pad meant for a ground tent actually made a perfect spot for our portable gas fire pit. The highlight of this site is the view — a wide, open overlook of the valley that felt far more scenic than what we saw at other nearby spots. A tip for arrival: we missed the entrance in the dark. Look for actual yellow car doors mounted on a large metal gate — that’s the access point. The bathroom and shower facilities were in excellent condition and only about a two-minute walk down the hill from our site. Campsites are fairly close together, but other Hipcampers were considerate, and we ended up chatting and hanging out with a neighboring family, which added to the experience. There are a few short trails on the property with nice vantage points a quick walk from camp. As noted in the listing, large powerlines run through the property. They give off a faint buzzing but it was barely noticeable and didn’t affect our stay. We camped in mid-October — daytime temps were in the upper 60s to low 70s, nights dropped into the 40s but we came prepared. The site was clean, had a trash can and picnic table, and communication with the hosts through the app was quick and easy. Best unexpected perk: zero bugs this time of year — no flies, no mosquitos, just a few bats passing through at dusk.

Yosemite Falls was a good campsite! My fiancée and I enjoyed the view while staying in our tent. It’s a great beginner-friendly campsite with lots of amenities. Free warm showers, clean bathrooms, drinking water near the campsite, and more! There’s also free Wi-Fi and signal at the campsite, which was a plus. It’s good to note that it’s right next to a highway and a buzzing cell tower that could get noisy at night. There is 1 short hiking trail that can be fully explored in about 10 minutes. The entire campground is about a 20-25 min walk. Because of the lack of activities, my fiancée and I were bored most of the time. We were also surprised at how close other campsites were from us. Privacy would be a problem if all sites were filled. Pros: -Great view -Amenities (drinking water, bathroom, warm shower, trash can) -Sand pit makes tent floor flat and nice -Welcoming hosts -Wi-Fi/signal Cons: -Next to a noisy highway -Next to a noisy cell tower that constantly buzzes -Lack of activities (little to no trail) -Lack of privacy (very close to other campers) Overall 6.5/10 it’s a great campsite and I would recommend this to all first-time campers for the view and amenities.

Wonderful property with amazing views, exceptionally clean facilities, and lots of space in between sites! Liza and Tom were both communicative and welcoming. Expect a bit of noise from cars on the highway throughout the night, but nothing terribly loud. Overall a delightful stay and well worth the price point.

This location was wonderful! We planned last minute to visit Yosemite and had no idea how wonderful of a stay we would have! Wow! You can't beat it! Warm showers and towels and really nice bathrooms! We plugged in and also had access to WIFI....what a treat! WE feel so SPOILED! Who knew! Thanks so much to the hosts for thinking of everything including really nice body wash/ shampoo in the showers. Brilliant!

This is my go to camping spot when I visit Yosemite! This was my third time staying here, we had issues with the first propane tank we got and the hosts were able to get us a new one within minutes of sending a message! Very beautiful spot, convenient and well maintained. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone visting Yosemite

We had a great time at the Tenaya (#9) site! A short walk away from the bathrooms and with an incredible view. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and were grateful for the cooler of drinking water that Liza and Tom provided, along with a trash bag & bucket. One thing to beware of at this site, you have a steep walk back from the bathroom - I have asthma so I just took a breather halfway up and had no trouble at all. Liza and Tom were quick to respond when we had trouble with our fire ring and after some tightening of connectors everything was smooth sailing! And the cherry on top - the nighttime view of the stars. I've never seen anything like it. Truly incredible.

Perfect for a Yosemite Trip!

I loved staying here! The location was absolutely gorgeous, so perfect for sunsets and you could hear the nearby river rushing. The bathrooms and showers were clean and well stocked, they even left out towels for the shower. And it didn’t feel too far from the park at all!! On top of all of that the hosts were incredible! They were so responsive on messaging and were so kind to help me out with a huge favor while I was there.

We were upgraded to the Inspiration Point site since it was empty for the evening so this review is for Inspiration Point. It was a beautiful view and level site. Communication with our host was great. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Great hipcamp!

Overall the site was great. It was super nice to have towels, showers, and a water cooler provided. Great sunset views! The path to the bathroom was pretty steep but at least there was a shortcut. Was pricey. ($138) compared to reservations inside the park ($36) but when NPS reservations fill up, this is a close alternative. Although be warned it’s much warmer!

What can I say, it was our first time camping in America - this experience set the bar high. The camp site was super clean but the best part was the views it was amazing for sunrise and sunset. The hosts Liza and Tom were very responsive and kind to our requests, also had some great commendations from Liza regarding coffee places. We will definitely come here again!

Wow! We loved it here! The views were stunning. We parked our van so that when we opened the door we’d see a great expanse. Just dreamy. The hosts were so friendly. Bathrooms were fantastic. V close to Big Oak Flat Entrance of Yosemite. We stayed in site 4 and could see a waterfall — and could hear the comforting rush of it all night. Wish we would have brought our telescope the view of the sky was incredible. Will 100% recommend.
