Charming site with even more charming hosts. Was really cool to be in space that was as cute as it was let alone having been built by William himself -- he gave us a short and sweet tour in the beginning and it was perfectly prepped with lots of little amenities (everything u could need for smores including consumables, firewood, bug stuff, etc etc). Bathroom was super clean. Only slight bummer was that there was no power that we could use but William mentioned that it was a temporary propane generator outage that they were in the process of fixing asap.

My friends and I loved this spot! It’s a very fun and thoughtful property. There were lots of bees and yellow jackets which was the only down side since it made it hard to cook. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this spot!

Wonderful site to enjoy nature and have your own private camping area. William was a great host and he spends a lot of attention to details. Be sure and do the little hiking trail around the property which is fun and in great condition.

Really loved it. Beautiful spot. Great site. Amazing small hikes for our kid. Such nice hosts. I would say the mosquitoes were unbelievably present. Swarms of them pretty much from dusk to dawn. Also the rooster crowing at about 4:30 AM - nonstop might be a dealbreaker for aome. Otherwise, amazing - thank you!

We had a great stay! Well kept and beautiful views along the trail around the property. Very impressed with the craftsmanship and work that went into the place. It felt like a luxury to have seating areas, a full bathroom, grill, and fire pit during our weekend camping. Thank you! :)

This site was great. We enjoyed the clean bathroom with warm water for shower. The trail was a great walk in the mornings. But there were so many mosquitoes in the afternoon and poison oak was everywhere. The road to the site is also very narrow and was difficult to turn around in with our truck. It would more convenient for a car or even SUV to drive on.

Only stayed one night but this place was awesome. William and Wendee met us upon arrival to show us around the campsite. Super nice folks who really seem to enjoy hosting people. The work they put in to make this a fun and unique place to stay really shows. Hand built everything and the bridge is awesome. Very clean. Only downside were the mosquitos, which can’t be helped. They did have spray available though! Overall highly recommend for a cool place to stay and grab some honey while you’re there, which I can confirm is delicious.

This was an amazing experience with wonderful hosts! We had a great night and will be back soon. There’s so much attention to detail, you’ll feel right at home. Lots of deer came to visit us, felt like magic!

This was our first time using Hipcamp, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience—Wendee’s site has set the bar incredibly high. The property is full of thoughtful, creative touches like a suspension bridge, a nice fire pit, and a private bath hut with hot water and Ritz quality towels.
The hosts were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make sure everything we could possibly need was there—grill, S’mores supplies, flashlights, even bug spray! It felt completely private and peaceful. We’re already talking about coming back.

This was such a fun and truly unique camping experience at Wendee's Whimsical Camp Site. The hosts have transformed their property into a one-of-a-kind getaway with their outdoor creativity that will delight the young and young at heart. They've built an enchanting walking path, constructed two bridges, one being a full suspension bridge, fashioned stairways from fallen tree trunks, formed a quaint fire pit area with seats out of logs, and erected a full bath in its own little hut complete with toilet, sink, shower (with hot water) and hotel-quality towels. Take advantage of every inch of this place which is easy to do since you are the only ones there. Yes, this is a completely private camp site, and that's what we loved most about it. The hosts are so kind and provide so much to make your stay top notch including a gas grill, all the items to make S'Mores, a hammock in an oak tree grove, lanterns on the picnic table, flashlights, and even bandaids. We have a 1985 VW Westfalia camper and the road leading to the camp site (which the owners also had to carve out of their land) is a bit arduous with inclines and turns. We made it, but a car with tent camping would've been preferable and just as perfect of an overall experience. We highly praise William and Wendee for their foresight and passion in turning their parcel into a real gem for all the campers out there looking for an adventure like no other! Put this one on your list if you are planning a trip to the CA Central Coast

We really enjoyed Wendee and Williams camp site. The bathroom was well kept with great amenities. We loved the walking trail, fire pit, bridges, and all the other whimsical features at their site. We opted in for the fresh eggs and honey and they were delicious. We definitely recommend staying here!

My friends and I had such a wonderful time at Wendee’s whimsical campsite! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel so welcome—they were friendly, kind, and incredibly accommodating. The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and full of personality, with so many thoughtful touches that made it feel truly special. We especially loved being surrounded by nature—birds, squirrels, chickens, and even deer added to the peaceful, magical atmosphere. The surrounding area is beautiful, and we went on an epic coastal bluffs hike that was a highlight of the trip. It was the perfect place to unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy great company. Highly recommend!

We loved tent camping on this property, it is stunning! The hosts were so kind and gracious and I really appreciate how responsive they were. There were a few hiccups as we were the first campers for the season, but the hosts were on top of it and were super communicative. Having access to a shower was amazing and made the experience so much better! It was so fun exploring the property. The trail was freshly trimmed so that was great. We truly appreciated all the effort put towards hosting us. I can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I loved tent camping at wendee’s whimsical camp. William and Wendee were lovely and welcoming. The ranch is beautifully decorated with impressive attention to detail. Car camping with access to a full service, perfectly clean bathroom complete with hot shower was luxurious! Nice and private experience.

Had a great stay at Wendee’s Whimsical campsite! The hosts were both so kind and friendly. William has created a truly special space and his pride and care for it shines through. Loved the generator powered bathroom/shower and s’mores shed. Enjoyed the fire pit and star gazing at night and a short morning walk on the grounds before leaving. Wish I could’ve stayed longer but I will definitely be back!

My family camped for two nights in a tent during the winter, and overall, we had a great experience. The small bathroom house was a lifesaver—it helped keep things clean and mud-free, especially since it rained during our stay. The hot shower was an absolute luxury, making our cold-weather camping trip much more comfortable. One thing to note: if you're driving a longer vehicle, maneuvering can be tricky, particularly in wet conditions. The mud made our car slip a bit, so be prepared for that. Otherwise, a wonderful spot!

Everything about this spot is great! It’s honestly the nicest “camp” bathroom I’ve ever seen. The owners have put a ton of work into making the spot wonderful for their guests and it really shows. The short hike around the property is great for kids and dogs. I’d definitely stay here again.

This campsite truly lives up to its name! From the moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the whimsical atmosphere and attention to detail. The hosts, Wendee and William, have poured their hearts into creating a magical experience for their guests.
The campsite itself is beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches throughout. We especially appreciated the clean and well-maintained bathroom – not something usually available tent camping! The surrounding property is equally impressive, with a charming trail, abundant wildlife, and stunning views.
But what truly sets this campsite apart is the hospitality of the hosts. William and Wendee were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. They even provided us with fresh eggs from their chickens and delicious honey from their bees!
We can't recommend Wendee's Whimsical Campsite enough. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. We will definitely be back!

We loved camping at Wendee’s whimsical campsite. The site had all the necessary amenities and much more. The site is constructed in a very creative way with so much attention to detail. Our hosts, Wendee and William were both very welcoming and helpful.

We had an amazing time! Everything was perfect, William is awesome and really cares about the campers coming to stay! He took the time to talk with us and explain everything before we arrived! He also left us some eggs from his chickens and some honey! Both were delicious! The property itself is just as amazing as well! So much to do, and having that lovely bathroom with the soft towels made it even better and made my wife happy too. It was fun and interesting to see the wildlife, several deer, some chipmunks, and different birds roaming around. We couldn’t be happier with our stay. I would recommend this place time and time again, and I am also planning on coming back soon! Thank you so much William for having us!

We needed a spot to stay as we drove southern to Northern California to break up the drive. We didn’t want to stay just anywhere as we wanted this to be a fun camping spot as well. The site was so nice for the kids and it was so thoughtfully put together. A huge plus was the very clean bathroom with a shower. There was a picnic table with an umbrella as well as a bbq. The kids were able to explore around and they had a lot of fun. The string lighting created a nice atmosphere as well as being practical. My kids enjoyed the fish pond and visiting the chickens. Great place!
