From start to finish my experience working with the host was amazing! They have curated such a fun and special vibe at their Hip Camp site and I can't wait to come back here many more times! The amenities were abundant and the bathroom/ kitchen/ and cabin setup allowed for a comfortable transition from city life into the woods. The swing was the cherry on top, my friends and I look forward to our next visit.

Love the tent cabins, different themes in each one. The kitchen is nice and the restrooms are very modern. With our decent size group, it was nice to have a men’s and woman’s restrooms separately. It was actually cold the weekend we went, it was nice to have heated blankets. Our group was able to relax and enjoy time together. We took a nice hike around the camp. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I celebrated a birthday with friends and family here and we had a great time surrounded by nature. The place was equipped with everything we needed to make meals. There were also plenty of things to do around that kept everyone occupied. The cornhole game we found ended up being fun for everyone to partake in.

A beautiful site, incredibly appointed and stocked to the brim with essentials. Unusually heavy rain tested the impermeability of the four heated shelters and dining area, which withstood the conditions flawlessly. If you appreciate design, you will find many little choices to delight. We were particularly impressed with the lighting, the hearth, and the restrooms. If you're around to explore wilderness, the adjoining state park has an impressive trail network.

What an amazing place! The location was wonderful -- beautiful forests, next to the Portola Redwood State Park for walks short and long. The cabins were comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen excellent. So many wonderful details to make our stay memorable. Thanks again for a great weekend stay in nature!

This site is an absolute gem! My friends and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Wendy’s site in the redwoods. The facilities are beautiful and have really thoughtful additional features (like a rope swing!). You will feel glamorous, comfortable and relaxed in this amazing site tucked in the redwoods.

The property is so gorgeous and has everything you need for a luxurious weekend! We cooked gourmet meals, enjoyed hiking through the redwoods, and played games on the huge dining table. The space heaters and electric blankets were more than sufficient at keeping us warm at night. We hope to return!

This place is magical! I took my girlfriend up there for our anniversary and by luck, we got the whole place to ourselves. We were in Cabin 1 with the queen bed. The cabin was warm and cozy and the bed was like a cloud! The kitchen and dining room are even better than they look on the site. We made fancy dinners each night. The bathrooms are like a spa,
the grounds are spectacular and spacious, and the host is attentive and kind. We will for sure be back. Thanks Wendy!

Our stay was amazing! Our cabin was very nice and comfortable, and had a space heater. The kitchen was very well-stocked and it was really nice to be able to cook there. The cabins are in the middle of a quiet redwood forest and our stay was very peaceful. Wendy was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Me and my boyfriend stayed one night at Waldhaus Redwood Retreat and had an amazing time out there! I booked this place because of the convenience of it being only an hour from the bay, the kitchen (OMG the kitchen!), and the tent cabin that had a heated blanket :) Prior to our arrival, we went grocery shopping for our meals. You can make anything in that kitchen, I'm sure that small oven can even bake a cake! Wendy's instructions on how to get there were very clear and made it easy for us since you lose reception a few miles away from their location. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Wendy and her son, Lyle. They were very nice and welcoming. Wendy gave us a tour of the property and answered all of our questions before leaving us to enjoy the property on our own. The kitchen was to die for! It practically has everything you need in a kitchen, we especially loved the dinnerware. It made us feel like we were at home. We stayed in cabin 1, which had the queen bed. It was nice and cozy. The bed as the most comfortable I've slept on besides my own. The sheets were clean and comfy. There's a heated blanket so no need to worry about getting cold in a tent cabin! The bathroom was clean and super nice! Wendy had everything we needed in there, all you really need to bring is your toothbrush! The towels were clean and plenty, which I appreciated a lot! There is also a loop trail that goes around the property. We enjoyed it especially since there was a redwood tree that fell down across the trail. We had to climb over it but it made for a great adventure! I would highly recommend staying at Waldhaus Redwood Retreat to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and peaceful time away from the city life. Thank you to Wendy and Lyle for being amazing hosts!

Nestled in the redwoods, Waldhaus is a gorgeous property with 4 tent cabins surrounding a main building that consists of kitchen/dining area and bathrooms.
The hosts have gone out of their way to make sure guests have all the creature comforts - kitchen is stocked with plates, cookware, basic pantry items, the bathrooms have toiletries and towels in case you’ve forgotten any. There are power strips in the tent cabins, and heating blankets to keep you toasty at night. There is wi-fi in case you absolutely need it, but no streaming.
There are a couple of short loop trails around the property that are perfect for a post-meal stroll, and another trail that leads into Portola Redwoods State Park.
We loved our stay and we hope to come back with friends to show them this redwood loveliness!
