Very nice hosts. The camp site was a little rough, with some trash and lawn furniture thrown in the nearby stream. We would come back, but I hisitate to recommend it to others.

It's a great little spot for experienced campers. Perfect for hammock camping. Its about 1/8 mile walk through the property to get to the camp spot from your car. Keep in mind this is a work in progress and someone's homestead. Thor and Emily were very nice. Loved the animals (chickens and large guard dog)

Friendly and helpful host, but the place needs attention.
They claimed there was roofing work going on, but the garbage and clutter everywhere seemed more like an excuse than real construction. The entrance and surrounding areas were messy with trash and debris, while the actual campsite itself was cleaner and less cluttered. The host was friendly and helpful, but the property overall needs a proper cleanup.

Thor’s Hipcamp was the perfect rustic retreat. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, and they made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The setting was peaceful and charming, with cute chickens wandering around that gave the whole place so much character. It felt simple, relaxed, and exactly what we were looking for, close to nature but still with everything we needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely come back!

This was our second trip to Thor’s property and our first time staying in this particular cabin. For Thanksgiving this year, we decided to do something a little different—and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot!
The cabin is nestled in a beautiful and relaxing setting. The bubbling creek, crisp fall air, and the peacefulness of the towering trees made it the perfect getaway. While the cabin itself is pretty basic, it offers plenty of space, and the beds are very comfortable. Just a heads-up: it can get VERY cold at night, so be sure to bring enough extra bedding to stay cozy. There is electricity, but we noticed something we plugged in was draining the battery, so keep that in mind if you plan to charge your phone or other electronics.
One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Erol, the playful and clumsy Kangal puppy. He’s full of energy and absolutely adorable! There’s also a friendly orange cat on the property—be careful not to accidentally take her home, as she’s quite curious!
For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s plenty of hiking both on the property and in the surrounding area. One of our favorite hikes is the Bennett Creek Trail, about 20 minutes away. It’s an easy, family-friendly trail we highly recommend.
Thor’s property has a special charm, and it’s been great to see the improvements he’s made since our last visit. We’re already planning to return in the spring to explore more of the area and, of course, spend some time with Erol!

Nice spot with lots of potential. He is still working on the cabin and ammedies. It is really nice. And the location on the creek is gorgeous, peaceful and private. The host is really nice and lives in a trailer nearby but not too close. Crazy road to get there! Also they have all these chickens which free range and follow you around as you hike around. Would go back!

We loved camping in Thor’s land! He was really nice and showed us to our campsite, he waited up for us even though we arrived late. The night was quiet and peaceful even though there were other campers there. We’d love to come back again!

The trees and creek are beautiful and the animals added a lot of joy and interest to our stay. We had a lot of fun exploring the land with our son, and the hammocks were a lovely spot to read and rest for a bit. The cabin was convenient and gave us the feel of camping but with a lot more comfort. I recommend bringing your own camping pots and pans, as well as a table for prepping meals, as there is not a lot of counter space. Thor and co were prompt in helping when we needed something. We had a hard time finding the spot (especially since we made the mistake of getting there after dark). You might consider asking Thor to send you a pin to his exact location since there is no official address.

Thor's campground is a beautiful escape into a dense woodland. You're surrounded by a mixture of tall trees and you'll hear chickens and ducks throughout your stay which adds to the experience.

The place is as described. Quite packed on scrap, a couple of small cabins, and spots for tents available dispersed.
Amazing nature all around, awesome creek and the best night noises from the wildlife. If you have kids that enjoy the outdoors, soil, branches, explorations, fire pits, this is the spot to go. I will be coming back again.

It’s a great space right next to water. There are some blankets and pillows, but bring your own bedding. The hosts are so welcoming. They have live chickens!

Overall we had a good experience. The creek was nice. Chickens and ducks were friendly. I would recommend booking a tent site near the creek. Unfortunately, it was not a place for young children. The tools that are around included hatchets and axes. The path to get down to the creek was a little too steep and sandy, easy to slip.

I loved camping at Thor’s homestead, the property is absolutely stunning, and the creek was very relaxing. I enjoyed everything about the space, and have already recommended it to a friend of mine. Make sure to grab some fresh eggs at 50cents each in the morning and say hello to the sweetest puppy Erol. Thor and Travis were amazing hosts, there when we arrived and very accommodating; they didn’t Hoover around too much which was nice too! 10/10 would recommend, and can’t wait to come back!

The tent spaces by the water are the best, really nice and private however best to have a 4WD to get down to them. I have a 2WD and Thor and his Dad had a 4WD they brought down to Load up our stuff to drive it up to my car . There are free range chickens roosters ducks and turkey. They also have fresh laid eggs outside the coop for sale at 50 cents each . They also have a big ol friendly puppy .
The rooster did wakes up up but easily able to fall back to sleep after the rooster stops or bring ear plugs
Would have been great if there was a porta potty in the lower level and not just the one up the hill as well as an electricity extension cord to charge devices in the lower tent levels. Would return to this place to camp again

Everyone has been really friendly, and the view from the cabin was beautiful! There is some construction happening in parts of the property, so don’t expect a spotless location—but honestly, I liked the charm of it. There are chickens and a few roosters wandering around during the day, along with a big, friendly dog.
We’d definitely come back!

Best weekend getaway if you're in the Bay Area. Near town, nestled among large trees, with big private spots close to a water stream. We had a great time. Amenities are very basic, with just one porta-potty. Thor said work is still in progress on developing the sites. Best for families. Picnic tables are not there, so plan for it.

Great little isolated property in the woods. It felt like a proper campground with multiple campsites and other campers. A little steep of an entrance and some chickens roaming around, but really besides that, pretty straight forward check in process thanks to Thor for welcoming me in.
I stayed there 1 night, but got there at 2:30pm, picked out my spot, and stayed there pretty much until I left at 5:30am (went hiking nearby). Although the roasters do crow occasionally in the morning, around 4:30, I was already up at that time to head out, so it didn’t bother me much. I think they stopped for the most part around 5am.
I loved the campsite proximity to the river, no matter the campsite. The property is located on the bend of the river, so you really do have easy access to the river, and there was about 6-12 inches of water throughout the river in September (excluding the water hole).
Overall, I would absolutely come back to this hidden gem. And yes I would absolutely recommend it to other people. A wonderful place to stay for all ages.

Creekside Cabin
We stayed at the creek side cabin for my husband’s birthday and we had a great time. Absolutely a delight to be in the trees right next to the creek. Our 2 kids had a blast in the water. The cabin was cute and cozy. Well built and impressive for a makeshift dwelling. It was perfect! Our 4 year old says she wants her birthday next 💖

We loved staying in the Creekside Cabin. We spent the evening cooking our dinner and enjoying a bottle of wine while the kids were swimming in the creek. The cabin is perfect, so a clever, pretty and well put together. We would love to come back!

What a fun spot!! The communal fire pit offers an opportunity to hang with other campers. The Creekside spots are gorgeous, so make sure you arrive right at 2:00 to claim one of those. Our busy toddler loved looking at the chickens and stomping around in the creek. Our campsite was right next to the chicken coop and it was fun to wake up to the roosters. I love that fresh eggs were available for us, too.
As the description says, this land does have all kinds of stuff lying around in some places. We didn’t mind it, but if you’re looking for pristine natural beauty, this isn’t your spot. The site was dustier than I expected and the whole area is pretty hilly. Getting down to the creek from the parking area is a little difficult.

This campsite was is a cool spot. The location is secluded but close to town and the creek was perfect for cooling off and cleaning up. The property could use some love., There’s a lot of junk laying around and the roosters crowing at 3am was a little annoying. Otherwise, the spot had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would recommend for anyone looking for a cool spot to pitch a tent.
