Surrounded by thousands of acres of park, conservation and private land while only a 10-15 minute drive to the National Park main entrance. Complete privacy nearly 2 miles in from a gated entrance at the base of a small canyon. Walk up to the ridge for panoramic views of JT National Park, Joshua Trees, mountains and valleys highlighted with brilliant greens, yellows and other blooms and a winding graded dirt road up to your exclusive camp site. Town is just a 5 minute drive away, complete with trendy shops, cafes, music venues, sightseeing and more. Note: please be aware there is some several years old fire damage at the site and nearby areas but the lush drive in and long range views remain. 😍Your own PRIVATE, secluded desert oasis with 360 views! Updated elevated, flat, fenced and graveled area with amazing mountain views!! Great for tents, photos, picnicking, activities, etc. Come regenerate in the cooler 4200 feet elevation and foothills at the border of and overlooking Joshua Tree National Park! A few miles from modern amenities and 15 minutes or less from at least one National park entrance. Enjoy overlooking the park’s northwest border from our ridge. Peace and solitude

We loved the quiet and beautiful night skies of this location. The dirt road is well maintained and was easy to navigate in our 25 foot Leisure Travel Unity van. It's a great base from which to tour around Joshua Tree National Park. We will definitely return. Thanks to the owner for making this spot available to Hipcampers!

First time using Hipcamp and this site exceeded expectations. It was easy to find, and while it was minutes from town it felt like we were in the middle of no where. The site is a bit elevated which made it even better.

If you're looking for an awesome, secluded spot that's easy to get to--this is the one. The pictures don't do this site justice. This is the second time we've stayed here, and we're definitely coming back. Highlights include silence, no people sightings, several quail sightings, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, and virtually unlimited hiking and exploring. Plus, it's easy to get to and the host has impeccable communication. When we think of escaping the city and resetting, this is the first spot that comes to mind.

Secluded Spot Not Far From it All

This spot was perfect for a night of car camping — quiet and peaceful. Opted to stay here vs. getting a spot in the park since I arrived late and knew my car lights might be a disturbance. Directions were easy to follow, although I questioned myself a few times driving in at night. But just keep following the main road and you’ll arrive! Woke up to a beauty of a sunrise and was able to easily get to adventures for the day.

Great spot for a quick getaway. The written directions could use some slight modifications and updates. However, that doesn’t take away from how amazing the sunrises are and seclusion of the site.

Amazing location right outside JTree National Park with lots of privacy and amazing views. We loved the peace and solitude. Would have loved to have been able to burn a campfire but understand the danger that poses in the area given the burn scar from other wildfires in the area. Recommend Tipi Canyon for the peace, solitude, and beautiful sunrises.

I loved camping with our Airstream Bambi at Tipi Canyon! The site was nice and flat but up on the hill with amazing views day and night. I was very close to town so it was easy to go down and get some extra supplies and to browse the vintage stores. We would definitely like to come back!

Very cool site above Yucca Valley. Gives the feeling of remote camping. If the night weather had been barably warm the evening stargazing would have been fabulous alas the temps dropped so we weren't able to utilize the sites benefits. Only downside was that a fire in the past few years had burned out most of the Joshua Trees so it had moonscape vibes. I drive across the property showed how "lush" it has been.

Absolutely PERFECT spot. It feels like you're a 100 miles away from anything, but it's an easy run into town if there's anything you need. It's quiet, with plenty of room to roam and set up. And our host was super responsive to our questions. A+ all around.

Beautifully secluded area with amazing views of the stars, and the host was very responsive for any questions we had. Recommend checking the provided directions listed in the app, as it made accessing the site very simple. Also, it's worth noting it tends to be a bit windy in the valley, so be sure to bring stakes/tie-downs.

Nice graded flat spot for rv or tent. Great views & sunrises were spectacular. Quiet solitude was what we were looking for and certainly what we found! Yet only 10-15 to downtown Yucca Valley. Angela -the host was responsive. FYI-very spotty cell (Verizon).

Great secluded spot. Very peaceful and quiet. Was able to drive an RV and park on a nice flat piece of ground. The road and grading were A+. The owner was very responsive and helpful with directions. Highly recommend.

This was a great spot. It was quiet and private but a short drive to anything you need. Although the roads are dirt they would be accessible for any kind of vehicle. We found the burned areas to be interesting to explore and unlike anything we’ve been before. Levelers were helpful for our van but the host said he’s making a level spot to park soon. The host has great communication. We will be back!

We wanted to explore Joshua Tree Park and chose Tipi Canyon over staying at a campground in the park because of its privacy and we couldn’t have been happier with the choice . We had the whole canyon to ourselves, didn’t see a single other person, the days and nights were very quiet but it was just a few minutes from town . The canyon had a fire a while back so it’s not lush but that didn’t bother us . We plan to come back again next time we go to Joshua Tree .

If you want to feel like you have the desert all to yourself--this spot is for you! You're guaranteed to fall in love as soon as you enter the gate and begin the drive in. This Hipcamp is surrounded by thousands of acres of open land, so the only things you'll see are wildlife, views for days, gorgeous sunsets, and Joshua Tree's infamous starry sky. We had the most relaxing time at this spot and will definitely be back soon. The host had excellent communication skills and, depsite being secluded, the spot was extremely easy to get to. For those who might be scared off by the term secluded, don't worry. This spot has the best of both worlds--it's peaceful yet still close to town. Highly recommend!

Communication was very good. Our reservation was during the extreme heat warning, and the RV is like an oven so we did not go to this location, but had to stay in a hotel. One day I'd like to, though! Seems amazing.

Hidden treasure (beautiful, remote & private location). Close to Pioneer town (drove the back way up to Big Bear via Burns Canyon for a day trip), Yucca Valley City & Joshua Tree). Dirt road is well maintained. Drove a 4WD 4Runner with a 16’ Airstream Basecamp (no issues, but 4WD recommended if pulling trailer). Host was great & responded immediately to any inquires. Will definitely keep this location in mind for the next trip to the Joshua Tree area.

Great communication with the host, and the site was just what we were looking for quiet and peaceful with not another soul in site. Beautiful views, sunrise and sunset were exceptionally wonderful. We will definitely be going back for another stay!

The night we spent was perfect for my wife and I. We were trying out our new bed we made in our camper van and found Tipi Canyon. It was a beautiful sunset from the top of canyon and at night the stars were out. We did spot one Coyote which we thought was a treat and spotted what looked like big horn sheep tracks near our campsite in the morning. It was safe , secure and Beautiful.. !
