Quiet, peaceful place with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. You won't see the owners much unless you need something. They are quick to respond to any messages or requests.

Great communication from Bernie and Hoa! Not one issue with arrival, locating site and setting up with full hookups. Well laid out utilities with site 3.
Very private, even with one additional RV on site. A lot of open space to walk our dog on a leash and explore the property with respect to all others.
We didn't buy any fresh eggs or plants but they were well marked and easily accessible for self service.
This property is right in the heart of a lot of farm stands and wineries! Grocery stores: Stater brothers and Albertson's all within driving distance.

Our family needed somewhere to getaway for a weekend, and Bernie and Hoa’s campground was perfect. The kids loved the cows and chickens., and checking out all the plants. Though Bernie and Hoa couldn’t be there for our visit, they were still very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend and will plan on coming back!

We had a great experience. Carolina was a great host. She gave me a personal tour of the property and showed me where all the fruits and veggies were that I could freely take. Thanks for the great experience. I loved the cot pond as well. Very relaxing.

My family and I have loved site 2! The land is gorgeous and well marked! The site hasn’t been too hot either this June!! Over all if you’re looking to be on the outskirts San Diego and to see some beautiful stars, this is the perfect place for yall! Definitely try the eggs♥️

This is a great property. The owners are wonderful and make you feel so welcomed. Site 1 is great for a larger rig while site 3 has the open view of the palm grove. My grandkids loved the farm animals and koi pond. We will definitely be back and will recommend other visitors from out of town to camp here.

Bernie was a great host. We arrived late due to traffic and he personally greeted us. Very beautiful, private and peaceful. He has a beautiful property in a beautiful serene area. Even the drive was beautiful. We definitely recommend this spot and will return!!!

Absolutely loved our stay at Bernie’s! His land has a ton of beautiful palms, not to mention a variety of veggies, chickens, cows and other wild birds. It felt like camping in an oasis. There was a flushing toilet, shower, and sink available to use. Tent sites were spaced far enough that it felt like you were camping alone.
Getting to Main Street in Ramona took 2 minutes, and Escondido was around 20 minutes. The campground was easy to find and communication with Bernie was smooth.
Aside from the amenities, Bernie and Hoa were incredibly gracious hosts! They both had a ton of travel stories to share. We were also able to buy some delicious fresh eggs right from their farm.
I am bookmarking this as a repeatable camp spot!

Bernie and Hoa’s place is perfect for Basecamp. You can explore nearby attractions – San Diego Zoo Safari Park, hike to Potato Chip rock or peruse the shops in the small town of Julian.
The RV sites are exactly as described. Hoa showed us to our site # 3 when we arrived and Bernie met us later to explain their property.
Overall, The Thompson Palms Campground is peaceful. It was entertaining listening their cow talk. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

Doggos had so much fun roaming the acres without leash and playing hide and seek in garden area. The three black cows were so friendly and even had zoomies before breakfast and dinner. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Bernie has been very accommodating! Super nice guy with stories to tell of his travels. Very generous with his citrus. His garden was really nice (thanks to his wife’s green thumb). Will definitely be coming back this summer when everything is less hectic with our fam.
