The Sweet Pea Farm is a family-run organic farm on the Central Coast of California. We’re dedicated to producing delicious goods, enriching the community, and cultivating smiles. Since we planted our raspberry canes nearly three years ago, we’ve expanded our growing operation to include lush blackberries, super asparagus, and various veggies and herbs that feed our family and friends every day. We farm with organic practices to ensure that what we share with you is the healthiest produce we can grow. To us, farming extends far beyond harvesting food. We have a genuine passion for sharing knowledge, creating unique experiences, and building relationships with visitors from around the corner or around the world. At the Sweet Pea Farm, you’ll be greeted every morning by the quirky clucks of our 60 plus egg-laying hens, who will roam free while you’re invited enjoy the two full fields of raspberry canes, three raised garden beds, and home-made hot house full of organic veggies and herbs. Raspberries are our claim to local-organic-farming-fame, so the year is spent organically nurturing hundreds of red, black, and golden canes for the bountiful fruiting season of June, July, and August. While we’re only able to pick during the peak season, we jam all year long, which means your suitcase will be a bit heavier as you depart; there is no way you can leave the farm without a jar of Jammin’ Jean’s Raspberry Jam that you can also learn to make yourself. Our ultimate goal at the Sweet Pea Farm is to achieve 100% sustainability, so what you do on the farm during the day tends to come around full circle by nights-end. The eggs you collect in the morning are cracked into a perfect breakfast scramble. The scraps from breakfast make their way out to the compost pile, which is used to fertilize our berries and veggies that inevitably end up on our dinner plates. Any produce we pick during the day is sold to support our local community. Anything overgrown in our fields becomes prime snackin’ for our hens, who are ready to lay more eggs for the next morning. Aside from the gaggle of hens, we’re also home to a handful of pigs, and pups that keep everyone on their toes. Nestled on California’s Central Coast, there’s no shortage of sunshine or fun to be had in the area. A 5-minute drive will take you to vast sand dunes that lead to the Pacific Ocean. The predictably perfect 75-and-sunny weather every day is ideal for biking or hiking through the area’s endless trails. Vibrant farmer’s markets, historic piers with sunbathing sea lions, eclectic restaurants, surf shops, quaint cafes, and boutique shopping are dense in surrounding towns all within a 25 minute drive of the farm. Farm owners Suzy and Lorraine are 100% committed to creating wonderful experiences for each visitor. You’ll be greeted at the farm with open arms and warm smiles, which will set the tone for your entire stay. At one time, the property was an apple and avocado orchard. The orchard went into decline and Suzy and Lorraine obtained the property. Over the next few years, our two and a half acres has been transformed from dirt, to a vibrant growing grounds for our raspberries, blackberries, hens, hogs. As the drought in California continues, the farm is going through another transformation to become even more water efficient and being good stewards of the land.

Sweet Pea Car Camping

What an amazing place! Lorraine and Suzy and their crew were so welcoming, they made our night here the highlight of our road trip down the coast. Letting the kids pet the goats, collect eggs from the chickens and greens from the gardens, giving us home-smoked pork and s'mores fixings, even staging an easter egg hunt on Easter morning! When we first pulled up I thought we were in the wrong place - it looks like a regular neighborhood house. But the green and yellow farm stand told me it was Sweet Pea, and we went into the gate to the back and BOOM, an adorable little farm. The camping spot was perfect, with an rv bathroom to use if you need/want and a fire pit set up and ready to go! Thank you Sweet Pea, we'll be back!!

Sweet Pea Car Camping

Our hosts Suzy & Lorraine, and the rest of the Sweet Peas, were so kind! They made sure we had everything to make us comfortable during our stay -- including setting up a bonfire and s'more kit! Loved waking up to the roosters in the morning.

Sweet Pea Car Camping

Sweet Pea Farms was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend camping out there. Not only was it peaceful and far away from the rowdy ATV campers in nearby grounds, but Suzanne and Lorraine were incredibly hospitable and made the whole stay feel homey and comfortable. All in all, beautiful space, lovely firepit in the evenings, and lots of opportunities to learn what's going on at the farm.

Sweet Pea Car Camping

I can't say enough about Sweet Pea Farms! We had the best time. Our hosts were so accomodating, gave us S'More makings, let us snag veggies from the garden for dinner and also allowed us to collect eggs from the chicken coops for breakfast. The space was spacious and the outside stove was a real plus. We were so close to the town of Arroyo Grande and the dunes. It was the best night out camping ever. Thanks so much!

Sweet Pea Car Camping

Sweet Pea Farm was a perfect weekend getaway. Not only were we greeted with a basket of thoughtful snacks, but also enjoyed a warm, social bonfire with the hosts and other guests! Lorraine and Suzy are great hosts, and really love having people visit. The camp spot had a propane camp stove, which was an unexpected bonus that made breakfast a breeze. It was glamping at it's finest, and our expectations were exceeded. The chickens and pigs were a bonus, and so were the friendly farm dogs.

Sweet Pea Car Camping

Hidden just off of Highway 1 on California's Central Coast, the Sweet Pea Farm was a great place to reconnect with the Earth. The landowners were incredibly friendly and hospitable and were more than willing to give a tour of the farm, sample some of their delicious jams, crank up the fire pit, and even lead you to local beaches and meadows just minutes from the farm. Solo walks through the gardens and stargazing at night also made for some great memories. There was very much a family atmosphere and you're sure to feel at home and enjoy all the Central Coast has to offer at the Sweet Pea Farm.
