🐖 Sweet Water Ranch – Columbia, California Welcome to Sweet Water Ranch, a working regenerative ranch nestled in the scenic Sierra foothills of Columbia, California. As you arrive, you’ll drive through the heart of our pasture-raised pork operation, catching glimpses of our heritage Berkshire hogs and the rhythm of daily ranch life. From there, you’ll continue to your private campsite, tucked away on the back side of the property. Our campsites sit on a level pad surrounded by open sky and natural beauty—ideal for stargazing, quiet reflection, or simply enjoying a peaceful night’s rest under the stars. While you’ll have plenty of privacy, your journey through the ranch offers an authentic glimpse into real ranch living. You’ll pass by our animals and the day-to-day workings of a family-run farm, creating a unique and memorable camping experience. 🍯 Local Products Available During your stay, you’re welcome to purchase some of the incredible food produced right here on the ranch. We offer our pasture-raised California Berkshire pork and raw, local honey, giving you a chance to taste the quality and care that goes into everything we raise and produce. Sweet Water Ranch offers a quiet, genuine escape where you can unplug and connect with the land—all while being just a short drive from Columbia’s historic downtown and the majestic wilderness of the Yosemite Region.

🌲 Back Hill Campsite – Sweet Water Ranch Back Hill is a peaceful hideaway surrounded by manzanita and pine trees, set atop rich red clay earth that gives the spot a unique charm. This secluded and quiet campsite offers a flat, easy setup area and plenty of shade during the day to keep you cool and comfortable. At night, the skies open up for an amazing view of the stars, making Back Hill the perfect escape for stargazers and anyone looking to unwind off the beaten path. Water Access Potable water is available at the barn. Feel free to fill up containers during your stay. Just ask us for directions if you’re unsure where to go! 🚙 Directions to Back Hills Campsite (Sweet Water Ranch) Entering the Ranch: Enter through the main gate. Drive straight ahead until you reach the wooden camp sign at the Y in the road. At the Y, stay to the right and follow the signs for Back Hills Campsite. Continue along the road until you reach your campsite. ⚠️ Important Vehicle Information The ranch road is narrow and brush-lined, suitable for most overland vehicles, vans, and rigs with rooftop campers. Vehicles up to a 3500 dual rear wheel truck can generally navigate the road, but be prepared for potential brush scratches on wider vehicles. Trailers are NOT recommended without prior approval due to tight turns and narrow passageways. If you plan to bring a trailer: → Please call or text us first at (209) 591-3751. → We’ll let you know if it’s safe to proceed or help arrange a spot to drop your trailer in one of our trailer parking areas. ✅ Recommended for: ✔ Overlanding vehicles ✔ Camper vans ✔ Trucks with rooftop tents ✔ Adventure rigs without trailers Drive carefully and enjoy your stay!
