The garden was amazing and whimsical social area around the fire pit was lovely, but the main feature was the glorious view of Mt. Shasta beaming all over our campervan! Thank you Ali!

I came to Mt Shasta for a reiki class and coming acrossed Ali's place was meant to be! Camping under the Grandmother tree at Shasta Gardens is an unforgettable experience. Her low skirt of branches feels safe and keeps you warm and cozy in your tent, as well as calm and grounded, as she was a tree planted generations ago by an indigenous family 💚 Ali is a wonderful host and a gifted soul who makes you feel right at home, sharing unique stories about the land and his own epic life. He made a fire which was perfect for keeping warm under the stars with a view of Mt. Shasta. It was cool being right next to a cat sanctuary and meeting the furry friends who hung out around Ali. His garden in itself is beautiful and says a lot about how much love he has poured into his space. Despite the sound of the train, I felt so at peace and slept soooo good at his Hipcamp. I'm recommending it to all my friends who visit Shasta!

I couldn't more highly recommend Shasta Gardens!! I stayed 7 days at The Tree of Life and it was magical. This is the 2nd time I've stayed with Ali at Shasta Gardens and I'll be coming back every year. Ali is a fantastic host and you are given everything you could want and need. You have close access to everything Mount Shasta has to offer, including the energy work service's that Ali offers for your own personal development. This was the best 7 days of my entire year and I can't wait to come back next year. If you feel called to stay at Shasta Gardens, do it! You won't regret it!

The host is very friendly and welcoming. Although it is close to the train tracks, which can be very loud, he does disclose it in the listing and earplugs were a must for us. But the location was convenient for any last minute store runs and we enjoyed fresh berries to pick with great views of the mountain as well as fresh tasting spring water.

Ali was very accommodating and it's a cool property with good vibes. There are train tracks nearby but I wasn't bothered. It's an affordable & safe place to camp in town with toilet facilities.

It was a wonderful place to set up camp. We missed our first night due to travel issues, Ali was very understanding and helpful. Clean restrooms, outdoor sinks, plenty of room and a great view. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nice spot with great views of the mountain. We had the place to ourselves with our two dogs so that was great. Ali is very kind and helpful. Yes, it’s a large yard behind the house on the property but we were comfy.

Aside from the given natural beauty of this entire area and the magic it all holds, Ali is a true testament to the love and community that I have experienced in Mount Shasta! I could t have asked for a better host and guide. Every recommended spot and gathering was well worth it! I give 12/10 for exceptional vibes, and all the heart in this space. Ali is now a friend, do yourself a favor book and unplug under the grandmother redwood!!

This can say it was a very unique experience and it is settled in between mountains with a perfect view of the sunset. I would definitely recommend this for anyone passing through or just wanting to stay in Mount Shasta.

Location close to town for me is great, nice to walk a bit after a long drive. My site was fairly private despite being close to the railroad tracks which can be jarring but heard all over town no matter where one stays.

The location was very convenient and the host shared an enlightening experience including a tour of his amazing energy work studio and outdoor relaxation under the Grandmother Tree. Would have liked to stay here longer, but it was time for me to continue on closer to the mountain.

Very beautiful spot right in town and with a view of Mt. Shasta. There are bathrooms, water and sitting areas which was a nice touch. We didn’t mind the train track being right by but there are consistent trains running for anyone curious. No problem with our camper shut.. kind of cool. The host is very accommodating and nice, thanks Ali!

I reserved the Grandmother tree campsite. It is a walk in campsite and not set up for someone to sleep in their car on that specific spot of the property. I was set up to sleep in my car, so Ali worked hard to accommodate me and I appreciated his efforts. Ali works very hard to provide many amenities for his guests with portable potties, a sink, refrigerator, hammock, fire pit and barbeque and wifi. He is two blocks from town. The train goes right along the back of his property a couple of times during the night, so earplugs and using your phone's background sounds is very helpful.

This place is super close to the highway, walking distance to town and has showers, oh and a restroom. The train rolls right by it though, and blares its horn lol. So if you’re looking for a quiet place this ain’t it. Other than that host was cool and we all gad a good time.

We loved it here. Ali is a great host. The outdoor showers were INCREDIBLE (such a luxury and really well attended to). The location (proximity to town/restaurants/etc.) and views can't be beat. We were so happy that we happened upon Ali's place. A fully positive review - where I'm only adding the below so that people who aren't amenable to the quirk of the spot don't stay and have a BAD time. As other reviews have noted, it's RIGHT on the train tracks - and if you're camping in your car (as we were), the camping spot is as close as you can get to the trains. (If in a tent you could set up further from the train and I think it would have just been a periodic low rumble) If we had realized that ahead of time we might not have booked/stayed but - honestly - we didn't mind it once we were there. We slept pretty well aside from an hour or so in the middle of the night when there was a high concentration of trains. But they did come periodically throughout the night.

Cool experience. I stayed at the campsite for two nights with my 7-year old daughter. Ali was such a hospitable host. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable with tables, chairs, wood, showers and even fresh water from the mountain spring! The train passing several times in the middle of the night was slightly rough but I chalked it up as part of the overall experience :) Ali did offer earplugs to us for the train noise. Overall, excellent stay!

Super cool and thoughtful host—very accommodating and full of great local tips! As others have mentioned, being close to town has its pros and cons (yes, you’ll hear the train), but overall we had a great 4-night stay. It was great having access to a fridge and freezer too. Would definitely recommend!

Ali’s place was wonderful! Less than two blocks to my favorite organic grocery store in Mount Shasta! The view of the mountain was breathtaking! Having a hot shower is a real plus. We would definitely stay here again.
