We had a pretty good time in David’s campsite. Great views with Yucca trees. The area feels private and secluded. David also is great at communicating and provided clear directions on how to get there. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to spend time away in the middle of the desert.

I love Wilhart Crossing! I've stayed here multiple times now. It's a lovely campground surrounded by Joshua trees that's well kept up, private, and have gorgeous views of sunrise/sunset! This place is one of my best kept secrets of the Joshua Tree area. Thank you for your hospitality as always David! :D

Directions were perfect. Great host. Secluded, next to a majestic Joshua tree, great for dark sky events and yet really close to everything. Two wheel drive no problem by following the directions. You can see the attention to detail in how very well the site is maintained. I had a great experience and would do it again. Thank you!

Ive been to this site before and really enjoy the set up and view. A nice fire pit and very open. Felt private and was quiet. Hope to be back soon.

My friends and I loved this space! The directions can seem overwhelming, but we put Wilhart Drive into google maps and followed that to the dirt road path and then followed David's written out directions and it was super easy! This spot is only 20 minutes from the park entrance and about 10 from all my favorite coffee shops so that was perfect, secluded for camping but not too far! We did see some rats the first night but just made sure to secure our food away while sleeping and we did not have any issues.

The location is great. Close to Joshua Tree National Park. Lots of privacy at night and the stars were incredible. Only issue is that the site is right next to a dirt bike path. So it was very noisy until the sun went down and the path was no longer in use.

Nice quiet spot with lots of Joshua Trees. We enjoyed walking the property and the surrounding roads. Saw lots of wildlife. Good directions and communication from host.

I really love staying at Wilhart Crossing campsite! This is my second stay here. The location is quiet and feels remote, even though it's an easy drive on a dirt road back to a main road. The quietness and the joshua tree forest all around the campsite is amazing! It has wonderful views; beautiful sunrises/sunsets/mountains to the west and great for stargazing! The site comes with a roomy firepit and picnic table. The site is also kept pretty clean. There's lots of dirt roads to take walks on if you want to explore the area. Overall such a beautiful space for feel like "getting away from it all". Thank you!

A perfect spot to set up camp while visiting JTNP! A private & relaxing place to wind down after a day of hiking. The STARS are amazing and the thoughtful amenities of Picnic table & Firepit make this Hipcamp top of the line. Unfortunately we did not use the firepit due to our own wind concerns but did use our mini SOLO stove during our cookout. Be prepared for a slow drive in as the terrain is rough but we had no problem at all with our 23’ Class B+ with 2WD. Thank you sooooo much for excellent communication, explicit directions & for sharing your little bit of heaven with us. We would not hesitate to return…..W&H

Never went, huge wind storm and trip got ruined, I asked if they would reschedule or at least work some
Thing out but gosh refused and kept my money, also they lied and act like your the only one camping and last minute he text and said he had another group at the same land area …so beware of that. He also told me I can leave my trailer because it may get broken into.

This spot was great. Felt private but close enough to everything. Dense population of Joshua Trees. Purple mountains to the east during sunset. Crazy stars at night. Flat spot for the RV. One of the few sites that allows two camping essentials: fire and dogs. I come to Joshua Tree from San Diego about once a year and will come back to this site next time.

Great spot, very secluded in a small valley that lets you enjoy the stars unabated by light pollution. Would highly recommend and will be returning on my next trip to JT.

This spot was beautiful! We enjoyed a very colorful sunrise over the Joshua trees, and the spot felt pretty remote even though it was only minutes from town. Very clean and perfect for a quick getaway. David was super responsive and easy to work with. Overall wonderful, relaxing experience.

This was a great spot! We needed a place to stay for the night as a break in-between a longer road trip and didn't want to deal with the crowds going into the national park but we still got to enjoy all the beauty Joshua Tree has to offer staying here. David had great communication giving us detailed directions and a map of the designated area so we had no problems finding the spot and knowing our boundaries. The site was clean and well maintained and there's Joshua Trees as far as the eye can see. The sunrise and sunset were both amazing and our dog was able to roam around off leash thanks to the privacy we had. There are other people camping around the area and a community nearby so you're not completely isolated but it didn't take away from the privacy we felt during our stay. We would definitely stay there again.

The site was exactly as described! Although it doesn’t come with many amenities, the firepit is great, and the amount of space is incredible. From the site, there was only one other camping spot barely visible and we never able to hear them. It feels pretty secluded, but it’s also an easy drive into town or the park. The driving instructions we were sent were also very clear and we had no trouble finding the site. We’ll be using this spot again in the future I’m sure!

Very private and secluded, certainly an upgrade compared to the regular campsites in the National Park! The only thing to keep in mind is that wild animals may roam around your site overnight since the site is at a very remote location. Always a good idea to keep food, water, and trash locked away in your vehicle.

Absolutely awesome spot! My daughter (9) and I had a blast walking through the Joshua trees and checking out the stars at night. The fire pit was perfect and just an overall really chill and relaxing time. Just what we were lookin’ for. We’ll be back for sure

Willhart's crossing is a beautiful campspot. We arrived after dark and were a bit afraid to drive our 30ft camper up and down the sandy road, but we went slow and on the right side, and everything went well. Amazing spot to wake up in the morning and super close to Joshua Tree NP. Thanks to David for sharing this spot!
