Come visit a little slice of heaven. This property is magical, featuring a crystal clear, cold, year round creek, a meadow, hills, forest and even a little waterfall. Only steps from Little Jones Creek, the sounds of the flowing water will be your constant companion. All sites are close to our favorite little swimming hole. It's the perfect retreat from the buzz of civilization.
We live off the grid, and mostly out of cell service, so if you prefer city conveniences, this is not the place for you. We're about 40 mins outside Crescent City, with the last 1/4 mile down a gravel road and across our private bridge.
There is gas station/convenient store and a restaurant in Hiouchi, which is about 25 mins away.
We are absolutely surrounded by beautiful nature. Our property borders the Six Rivers National Forest, and we are close to the Smith River National recreation area and the Jedidiah Smith Redwoods. There are abundant options for river access, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking and more. If you go a little further, you can get to the Del Norte Coast Redwoods state park, Tolowa Dunes state park, or spend the day at Crescent Beach. But... our land is magical... we barely ever want to leave! We are in the process of building a loop trail around the property, which is 11.5 acres, so there's some room to explore the woods without getting in your car. If you go all the way to the top of the trail, you will find a mountain stream with our own little waterfall, surrounded by ferns and mossy trees. We absolutely love our oasis in the forest, and we'll be happy to share it with you!
We recently moved up to Del Norte county from Southern California.
The noise of the city is long gone, replaced by the soothing sound of the river.
We looked all over the state (and country) for our new home, and as soon as we found this place, we stopped looking.
We were searching for abundant clean water, beautiful forests, full seasons with sunshine and rainfall, and space to grow our garden.
This land has all of that and more.
It's a little piece of paradise and we're excited to share it with you!

Come visit our little slice of heaven. This tiny cabin has the best location on our property. Only steps from Little Jones Creek, the sounds of the flowing water will be your constant companion. This cozy place features a very comfortable, queen size avocado brand mattress. The front porch looks over the water, and our favorite little swimming hole. This location is peaceful and very beautiful. A perfect retreat from the buzz of civilization.

Things to know before booking: You have access to a toilet that is a short walk from all campsites. There is also a sink plumbed with water from the creek.
Please bring your own drinking water! There is a spring fed pipe coming out of the mountain on the way up our road, on the right, before you cross the Steven Memorial Bridge. This is where we get our drinking water.
The land is sacred. Please treat it with respect.
No parties, excessive drinking or loud music will be allowed. We have a child, and another one on the way... so we need all the sleep we can get.
Since we live off-grid, we sometimes have to run our generator, water pump, or other machinery, as do our neighbors across the creek. We do our best to minimize this while we have guests, but we cannot guarantee complete silence. We can guarantee that the sound of flowing water will continue long after the machines are turned off.
We ask that you bring trash bags and pack out everything that you bring in. Please store food securely to keep the wildlife wild.
Flashlights or headlamps are necessary.
Although it is mostly quiet, It is important to know that you may see (or hear) our little family, or other hipcampers, walking the trails or on the property. The sites are close to our favorite swimming hole, so we pass by often in the summer. If you are looking for complete solitude, we recommend our neighbors up the road at "The Emerald Outpost".
Upon booking, we will send you detailed instructions about arrival. It's not hard to find, but you don't want to only depend on gps to get here.
*If your car has a very low clearance, or if you don't feel comfortable with a short, steep, bumpy section of gravel road, then our listing may not be for you. It is necessary to hit this section with some speed (15+ mph) on the way out to exit smoothly. If you have 4wd, it will be easy. With that said, we have had guests with anything from little hybrids to old minivans exit safely.
It's definitely worth the trip. We hope to see you soon!
