Barbara and Dan bought these 37 acres in 2005. It had no improvements. The only thing it had going for it was a 250-year-old oak tree, and its location in the heart of wine country. We would come up and camp under the tree, and plant. In 2007, we drilled a well. In 2008, Dan proposed under the tree, and we brought in power. We have continued to make improvements since. We built a little house, then we built a big house, we added farm animals, kids, fruit trees, a jam line, a pond, and more keep coming! So come up and enjoy the farm like we did in the good old days! Pitch your tent on our 37-acre farm. We have designed a campground that can host up to 3 tents/small vehicles. The campground connects to a hiking trail that takes you to a 2-acre landscaped garden, along a dry creekside. You are a short drive to local wineries, or downtown nightlife. No power, or showers here, but the outhouse is one of those fancy solar powered deals with running water and a flushing toilet. This campground was designed just for tents and small vehicles (under 15' long). There is no power at this campground. If you have a motor home or trailer, check out our other listing with water/power hookups!  We have 3 camp spots available (1 available on Hipcamp). This means you might be sharing the restroom with up to 4 random strangers. If this is not for you, please do not book our campground. You also have the option to book out the other spots if you want to be alone. The bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized after each group has checked out.

Park your rig in our large parking lot. Easy pull-through sites. Our 1.5 acre events garden is a short walk across the parking lot. Enjoy wine tasting on the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail, then pop your cork for a quiet evening. Only 4 sites available per night. A walking trail along the dry creek will take you the distance of the property. Schedule a Jam Tasting, or to open up the farm-stand.

Park your trailer/RV on a private property in the heart of Paso Robles Wine Country!  Our large dirt parking lot has wide, easy pull in/through spaces, and offers Water and Power (30 amp circuit) hookups. The parking lot is pretty flat, and easy to pull through. There is a 2-acre garden nearby with a waterfall, large lawn area, and walking paths.  Visit our website (Google Hartley Farms, click on "What's New", then "Your Stay at Hartley Farms") for information on local things to do, and places to eat. 37-acres to explore,  or venture out to wine taste along the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail. 5 minutes to Vino Robles amphitheater, 15 minutes to downtown Paso. Music/noise curfew 10pm.  There are no bathrooms or showers provided for these sites. These sites were designed for larger RVs and Trailers. If you are tent camping (or camping with a small vehicle up to 15', check out our other listing for our smaller designed campground for tents and small vehicles. We do allow up to 2 pets per site, with the guests’ understanding that we have farm dogs who patrol the property off-leash in order to do their job. They are very friendly. Guest Dogs are limited to 2 per campsite, under 50 lbs each, and only non-aggressive breeds. A $25/pet fee is required.

The peaceful side of farm living

Barbara was responsive to inquiries before booking. The tent space was nicely laid out and would make a perfect group outing if reserving all the spaces as well as having a cottage and a small cabin for those who prefer glamping. I did have the place to myself. Walking the grounds was also lovely. One thing to note is the dogs may run up to you though they are well behaved. Also heard barking periodically through the night. It was a quick one night stay. The jam tasting would have been nice add on.

My wife and I had a great time at Barbara's hipcamp. The jam tasting and fresh made stones were phenomenal. The area was private. The site was level. The Astroturf was a great touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the walk through the shaded garden was lovely. Just remember to bring bug spray and watch out for fire ants.

We were passing through the area and found this hidden gem. It's a flat campground with a flushable toilet. There are four campsites in total, great for groups. We were lucky that there were no other campers; we had the whole place to ourselves.

This was a perfect place to stop and camp while we drove up the 101. We only stayed one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. We were in a roof top tent and the camp sites were flat, the camping area was well manicured and peaceful.

Easy to find and close to everything in the greater Paso Robles area. Each campsite has its own spigot and bench and the restroom is nice and clean. Plus the garden is gorgeous!

They had a great space to stay the night. We got to stargaze and saw three shooting stars, it was super magical. We had a little land of fake grass which was perfect because we didn’t have a pump for our air mattress so our backs were still supported. The bathroom was really nice and had a sink and a nice toilet with some readable material for fun!! I was so in an out that I didn’t get a chance to meet the lovely host Barbra but her farm was delightful and I am so grateful I was able to experience it :)

Barbara was a great host and her communication was amazing. She was super helpful. The property was fun and safe. It was easy to get to and the campground was well kept. A great little spot to set up camp and chill out. The bathroom was fresh, an awesome perk. There was water spouts all around, that was super helpful. Definitely would recommend!

Great Campground Area!

My wife and I had a great night out at this farm campground! The facilities were great with a cute little bathroom, and plenty of water spouts. The kitchen area and little grass spots were perfect for tent camping! I would recommend to anyone looking to camp overnight or even a week or two. Barbara was super helpful and gave us all the information we needed and was super friendly! We will definitely be staying with them again if we pass through Paso Robles in the future!

I was solo camping and felt safe since the farm was gated at night (I was the only camper there). The bathrooms are clean and the astroturf tent pads were a nice touch! 2 chairs, a table & picnic bench for every site. The breakfast basket was awesome!!

The Flag House at Hartley Farms
My husband and I, along with our two little dogs, stayed four days and three nights at the Flag House for Memorial Day weekend. All of the sites are really nice, but ours had the best view! They have a lovely little walking trail around the farm that takes you past the goats and chickens. There is a little lake and a beautiful venue you can walk through where they have weddings. Barbara set up the most adorable jam tasting for us and we went home with a couple jars we purchased because they were so delicious. The bed was very comfortable and the fridge and coffee maker were a plus. You get about 2 bars of service so just enough to check your phone or use your hotspot to watch a movie on a laptop if you want. The deck was really nice and the VIP toilet worked well. Be sure to bring some kind of camping table with you and a shower bag for bathing! They plan on putting in a shower at some point, but the weather gets warm enough around 12-2 PM to do a quick bucket/shower bag bath :) Their farm dog is a beautiful black lab border collie mix who is super well trained. Thank you! We hope to visit again!

We enjoyed camping on Barbara and Dan’s property. The directions were clear, easy to find, and a good location. The farm is charming and we enjoyed the breakfast package with their yummy jam , eggs and scones .

Well, the view is not nice, it is more a parking spot. Not so much to see around. Usually we camp at forest campgrounds, fire pit trees etc.. This is just a parking spot with a high price.

Beautiful property. Clean site with nice touches! Toilet/sink was clean with running water. The campsite has a nice turf spot for the tent and picnic table and chairs. Barbara was super helpful when I missed my turn into the farm. I was only stopping over on the way to another location, but will be back to spend more time!

We loved staying at Hartley Farms hip camp! Amazing owners who were always there to help us out and the site was fantastic! We will absolutely be staying here again and think this is one of the best camps we have ever stayed at.

I really enjoyed our time at Hartley Farms. Access was easy and the grounds were lovely. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs and a jam tasting. We played cornhole and frisbee in the large field where the RVs park. They do not have picnic tables so we used our own portable table. The host was very responsive.

We absolutely loved staying at Barbara’s farm, so much so, we decided to extend our trip another night!! We purchased some fresh eggs and did a free jam tasting! We had the most amazing time and will definitely be back if we get the opportunity ☺️

We had a great experience at the Organic Farm Campground. The overall farm is vast, well marked, clean, easy to locate. Bathroom is clean. Great view to watch sunrise over the hill. I enjoy the camping experience and would recommend anyone who needs a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights while exploring wine country during the day. The host Barbara is very nice, responsive and helpful. We also have trail to walk around the farm, explore the area for wedding reception which is very nice. The jam, egg and breakfast scones are amazing.

This was a lovely place to camp for the night! The bathrooms were clean, there were tables and chairs for each campsite, and it was fairly quiet, except for a little noise from the road. Barbara was great at communication. I opted in for the fresh egg, jam, and scone breakfast and I was very impressed! I would highly recommend staying here!
