Absolutely incredible. It was the perfect spot for a weekend with my little Ford Maverick and Go Fast Camper setup. I did not have much communication with the host, but I honestly did not need much since everything was straightforward. It was a busy festival weekend, so the parking attendants were a huge help. The only suggestion I have is to include a bit more information in the instructions/getting there section after booking. Without the parking attendants I probably would have been a little confused 😅 so a simple map and some friendly instructions would probably avoid some unnecessary confusion. Not a dig on the site at all, just a friendly suggestion.
Aside from that, the campsite gets rave reviews from me because of how easy and wonderful it was to stay in this beautiful western-style town. The animals at the petting zoo can be a little loud at times, but I found it charming and part of the experience. This would not be an issue for anyone in an RV. I was in an RV spot with my truck tent, so tent campers might want to bring simple earplugs since the roosters start early. Do not let that deter you. It truly is a unique and very cool place to camp.
The campground is fairly minimal, but it is well maintained, safe, and friendly. Being able to walk back to your site after a night at Pappy and Harriet’s in only two minutes is worth its weight in gold. 🍻

Great place to stay when visiting Pappy and Harriets. Only complaint was that generator use and loud music went way beyond the time frame allowed. I don't mind some, but it was all hours of the night and very early in the morning after a late night. Otherwise great and the everyone was friendly.

Perfect place to camp if you want to enjoy Pioneertown town. Walking distance to both Pappy and Harriet’s and Red Dog Saloon. Camp host (Cody) was awesome and the location is unbeatable. Had to car camp(kinda fun actually) since the RV spots were all taken. Definitely bringing the RV next time and staying here.

The horse camping is amazing. We come two or three times a year for the past 17 years. The host, Cody, is always cheerful and makes time to interact with the guests. Really thankful that this place exists for horse camping. Recommending it to everyone.

Concert camping

We camped here in our travel trailer for a concert. We had never been there before. We got there right at noon and found a great corner spot in the back. Host was nice and told us to park how we want. Laid back vibe. Easy walk to Pappy’s. Literally no enforcement of rules. We had large motor homes full of people park all together and partied and were loud into the night, running generators and blocking areas with chairs and dogs off leash. Annoying, but we weren’t there for “ camping experience “. It’s a little pricey for a piece of dirt, but worth it because of the concert and not having to drive after.
It’s not somewhere to go camp. Town is cute, bars are fun and shops and petting zoo was interesting. We will go back the next time Cody Jinks is in concert.

Very nice checkin process - clean bathrooms and cool people
Don’t expect much outside of a dirt lot, but you aren’t going there for sightseeing- perfect for crashing out after a show
Grab a spot on the left against the fence - good shade in the morning for you to sleep it off

Can't beat the location! Basically right on Mane Street <3 Really fun spot, with great views. The campground itself is basically an open dirt lot where you can post up wherever you're comfortable. There aren't amenities other than a table, spigot (we brought our own water), and bathroom. High cost for what it is, but you're paying for the prime location. We love Pioneertown!

Had a wonderful stay in Pioneertown! They have plenty of options for you on the site. People were friendly and we had enough space for the group. There are tables available near the sites and the bathroom is well maintained. If you want a lively Saturday night, the spots closer to Red Dog. Can’t wait to be back!

I’ve stayed here twice now, both on Halloween by coincidence! We arrived a bit late and had a little trouble finding the entrance behind the motel, but there were plenty of open spots to choose from, under trees and with picnic tables. The bathrooms were clean and easy to use, and despite being surrounded by venues it was a peaceful place to sleep and wake up. Pioneertown itself doesn’t have much to offer aside from pappy & Harriett’s, but if you’re there for a show this spot is perfect!

Location to venue is superb! Only downfall was there was a wedding next door that was very loud for many hours, including the next morning around 7am. Would have been nice to know about the event happening at the same time as our camping trip.

First time in Pioneertown and I am in love. Cat camped as a solo female for a long weekend. Felt safe and had so much fun. Live music. Bar and food right there. Old film set with Pioneer reenactment on Saturday was a hoot. Only downside no shower. No cell service. I enjoyed being off grid but be prepared for a short drive to town to make calls check emails etc. Frontier coffee right at the turn on main street was an excellent place for that. Good coffee and food. I will definitely be back with mu friends 🧡

Camping in Pioneertown was a blast! Hi-Lo made everything easy including flexibility with late check-in. I would recommend anyone to spend a night in Pioneertown and enjoy a night a the Red Dog Saloon.

We enjoyed our stay at camp. Although we were there for the JTMF and spent most of our time there, it was fun to explore the grounds, and the nightlife. The campgrounds are also convenient to explore Joshua Tree and the festival grounds in Sunfair.
