John and Caitlin are amazing - this was our second stay at pianetta and it’s truly the best Hipcamp experience we’ve ever had. The property is beautiful, great wine, and nothing but positive vibes from the family.

We were excited to camp at Pianetta after reading all the rave reviews. However, from the minute John approached our truck, we felt unwelcome. We were so surprised by the gruff reception that we wondered if we were in the right place. No tasting was offered, couldn't tell if we could buy a bottle of wine, no campfire wood offered and there was none at the campsite, I had to return to the main building to ask where the bathrooms and showers were. We felt like we were imposing on John by being there, as if we were intruding on his privacy.
We didn't bother setting up our campsite, just used it as a place to sleep for three nights. It was beautiful but The experience was certainly not worth $80 a night!

Beautiful spot overlooking the winery, so nice to wake up there. We loved the barrel tasting too. John Pianetta is a wine wizard!
This camp is complete with the maenities; picnic tables , fire ring, and outdoor shower.

We loved our experience. The Airstream is set on a hill amongst the vines with views down both lengths of a beautiful valley. So peaceful and it had everything we needed for a cozy wknd away.

Awesome property. We were the only ones there, and it was hot! Big shade tree to hang out under during the day, and nice to have access to a real bathroom with AC. I will say the bathroom was not stocked with TP however. I didn’t have service so there was no way to notify.
That aside, it was pristine, and quiet. We got a bottle of wine from their tasting room prior and enjoyed it with dinner and a fire in the big fireplace! They provided some old vines as firewood which smelled amazing. Lots of stars to see, and cows on the neighboring ridge lines. Would stay again, and already recommended to a fellow hipcamper from another site later on in our trip. The gate is motion-censored for on the way out, so no need to panic if you’re up early to leave.

We had a great time, very peaceful and wonderful views. Caitlin met us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. Showed us the showers and bathroom area. Great host and we even got to taste some wines from a private showing at the vineyard.
PS: The stars are amazing when you're out in the middle of a vineyard camping (with no-one else around). We'll return.

We had an extremely pleasant 2 night stay here. John brought us a jug of their “jug wine” upon arrival, plenty of firewood ready to go by the fire pit, we did the wine tasting at their tasting room in Paso Robles, everyone was lovely. We drove to the mineral baths (20 min away) which was also a highlight.

Very cute setting and lovely airstream. The location was perfect for the weekend - quiet and secluded but not too far from Paso Robles for wine tasting. The host was super thoughtful and left tons of instructions for airstream first timers like us!

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at the Pianetta Ranch! It's such a gorgeous and isolated spot to recharge. We also had the opportunity to have a bottle of their wine which was delicious. I highly recommend staying here and getting a bottle to enjoy at camp from Caitlin or at their tasting room in Paso Robles!

The campsite was quite nice over New Years. We had plenty of grape vines for firewood in the fire pit and the sunset was lovely over the vineyards.

I loved my stay at Pianetta Ranch and Winery! Very clean & well set up; waking up amongst the vines was superb. Caitlin was very responsive and helpful during the check-in process. I would highly recommend and plan to return as soon as I can!

A super special private camping experience. The space is spacious and well-kept with an amazing fire pit, outdoor showers, and phenomenal vineyard views. Caitlin and John were kind and accommodating hosts. Highly recommend! And do the wine tasting!

This was one of the most unreal experiences I have ever had. The accommodations were amazing and the hosts were unparalleled. It was our first stay with Hipcamp and certainly won't be our last. The winery was stunning and we even got the opportunity to try some of their wines straight out of the barrels, an experience we won't forget!! The wine is fantastic, highly recommend the cabs. Can't wait to visit again! Thank you Caitlin & John!

Pianetta Ranch & Winery is a beautiful place to spend some quiet time among the grapevines and surrounded by nature. Nice campsites with amenities like a firepit (with wood included), picnic tables, restrooms and showers. Great setting. Lots of wildlife at night - coyotes, owls, and occasional cow mooing and a wonderful place to see the stars.

This is a wonderful site. Perfectly located for the meeting of Northern and Southern Californian friends. It is a large flat area on the top of a large hill, amongst grape vines, and even though it is next to the large wine production facility and the grounds keeper's house, it felt very idyllic and private. Two large oak trees provide some shade, but otherwise it is wide open and sunny. 360 degree views are of the surrounding rolling hills, golden in the fall with occasional oak trees and some agricultural fields or pastures. The morning and sunset colors were spectacular. One morning was misty, the other clear. We were there in mid November, so the sunset was obviously early, and the nights very cold. The day was very comfortable and warm. The difference in temperature is astounding. The wind was calm, not sure if the wind ever picks up, but if it did, one would possibly be very exposed. There was a vintage fire truck on site, much to the delight of the small children in the group. One large bond fire pit, one good size coal grill. Three picnic tables, two large trash cans. Non-potable water from a hose. No hookups for an RV. Single bathroom in the adjacent guardian's house, separate entrance, super clean and comfortable. 3 outdoor showers, I did not take a look (had RV), but I think they run hot water. The site is about 15 minutes from the nearest town/highway with only local traffic, if any. One passes the Franciscan San Miguel Mission on the way there.
The hostess, Caitlin, was super responsive, extremely welcoming and friendly. She offered barrel wine tasting in the adjacent production/storage hangar. A really nice and personal touch. We loved it and bought wine right then and there. She said that they only offer the site to one group at a time, so privacy is a given. However, the site itself can support a very large group. We will likely return here next year.

This is an amazing find! I couldn't recommend this place more highly. The facilities are top-notch (it's so nice to find a hipcamp with a real bathroom!) and the view is gorgeous. Make sure to plan for some decent wind. The site has spotty but decent ATT reception, but almost none on Verizon. We arrived pretty late, but Caitlin was still super responsive to questions to help us get settled.
We're definitely going to be coming back here in the future! Great views, great wine, totally a fantastic stop.

A lovely campsite with beautiful views of the vineyard and the hills. We were hoping for a peaceful camping trip away from the crowds and the smoke from the fires. This was perfect for us. The campsite was clean, and we had a nice restroom to ourselves. The shower area was a plus for us.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at the airstream and would highly recommend. The location was private, secluded, and romantic. The airstream itself was cozy and comfortable, and had everything we could have asked for. The direction to the property were accurate and thoughtfully laid out. Overall, great experience.

Gorgeous site. Relaxing. Beautiful views. Electricity and water stopped after day 2 and we didn’t want to use generator so maybe more solar panels? otherwise it was perfect!

We LOVED Pianetta ranch & Winery. Absolutely gorgeous campsite, we had the pleasure of being the only campers on site, so romantic and secluded. Bathrooms and common areas are well kept, and Caitlin and her family were wonderful hosts! Delicious wine too! 10/10 recommend.
