Peaceful, quiet spot backing up to open space and a historic barn. Loved looking out over the grassland at about sunset. Electricity, sewer, and water are all available. Love the well behaved dog.

We had a great stay at Mimi’s! Our dog loved playing with Indie. Indie was so kind, well-trained and respectful. Mimi was very helpful upon arrival. The outdoor set up and yard was beautiful . We stayed for 2 night as we were making a visit to Burney falls. After a full day out it was nice to come back to our RV with the full hook-ups. Would recommend and hope to visit again in the future!

Mimi’s Hideaway
The spot is at the end of a driveway next to her house and backyard. The view of the field, barn, and water are beautiful and it was very peaceful. Having hookups was a convenient bonus. Mimi was warm and welcoming, and we really enjoyed chatting with her about the area and her background and travels. Her dog, Indy, is amazing, and our son loved playing fetch with him in the mornings and evenings (as far as he was concerned, Indy was the highlight of the trip). The location is right by Lake Almanour and 40 minutes from Lassen Visitor Center; while we found it more convenient to camp inside Lassen to see the park, if you don't plan to spend all your time in the park (and even if you do), it's a great option. In fact, we loved Mimi's and missed it as soon as we relocated to the Manzanita Campground. We can't recommend it enough!

Mimi is an excellent host and generally great person to converse with, but she’s also good about giving guests personal space if desired. The site was level with an electric hookup and waste dump. While it’s essentially in her side yard, we were free to use the deck and yard, especially to toss balls to her border collie. We also faced a huge land trust meadow and 1800’s barn with a distant view of the lake. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Wonderful stay! We had a very relaxing evening having dinner on the porch and watching the sun set, the lake, and all the birds in their houses. Easy access to all hookups, good directions, and very well maintained accommodation.

Mimi’s Hideaway
Mimi is a delightful person and the site was lovely… right on a large meadow w/ a view of the lake. We spent hours chatting with her, watching the baby birds in her many birdhouses, and walking around the quiet and peaceful meadow.

Mimi's Hideaway is lovely, and so is Mimi! After selling our cabin years ago, we had a wonderful time reconnecting with Chester, CA. We walked to the North Fork of the Feather River, rode our bikes down First to Lake Almanor, and walked the meadow each morning and evening. Our dog was in frisbee heaven, but was a little jealous of Indy - Mimi's well-mannered/behaved Border Collie. Indy was so tolerant of his grumpiness! Mimi has created a peaceful, relaxing spot adjacent to her home. She and her neighbors are friendly and welcoming. I will be back! Oh, and that freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. Thank you, Mimi, for sharing your little bit of Chester beauty. It was such a pleasure getting to know you.

We had a great time, the scenery was beautiful and we could walk to see the river and lake from the site. Mimi was super helpful and made us fresh squeezed orange juice which was amazing! Her pup was super sweet and he only approached us without our dogs which was great as one is reactive. Super quiet and peaceful.

We were looking for a short break from the day to day grind. Beautiful views and walking trails on a conservation meadow with a historic landmark. Mimi is a gracious host. Would definitely come back.

The best hip camp out there! We had such a great time staying at Mimi's and will definitely be back.
The hospitality (the fresh squeezed orange juice is the best), chats with Mimi (who is awesome), playing ball with Indie, and of course the views.. can't beat that. We didn't have plans and just wanted to get away from the smoke in Oregon, but Mimi gave us some tips for places to check out and we are now adding Lake Almanor to our favorite places to visit. What a gem! And love how dog friendly everything is.
It was so easy to get in and out (simple, straight back in) and the fact that there is water, electric, and sewer for our trailer was amazing. Thank you so much!!

We loved our stay at Mimi’s! It was peaceful and quiet, the perfect place to relax and take in the stunning view! We visited Lassen National Park both days which was only about 30 minutes away. Nightly walks to the barn, lake, or river were a treat! On our last day Mimi made us fresh squeezed orange juice, it was delicious. Would definitely stay again!

What a treasure. Mimi's land backs up to a public land trust that includes a historical barn and walking paths to the rivers edge. The town of Chester is friendly and quiet, and her place is a short drive to lake Almanor. She assisted by telling us about a great bait shop and a place to access fishing from the shore. She was friendly, helpful, and a gem herself. She has bird houses and feeders around her yard and we enjoyed watching the birds as the sun set in the evening. Her dog is friendly and smart, making anyone feel welcomed.

Mimi's Hideaway was a beautiful, peaceful home away from home. Mimi was the perfect hostess. My husband and I were in the area to explore, having never been there before. Waking up with the birds chirping and going to sleep with the sound of the wind in the nearby Aspen trees was so comforting. Mimi's Hideaway borders a large pasture and historic barn that is part of a land trust and such fun to explore. Of course visiting with Mimi and playing fetch with her Border Collie Indie was a bonus. We would absolutely recommend staying at Mimi's Hideaway and we will be back!☺️

Wow, what a cool place. Very quiet, great view, beautiful setting, wonderful dog, very nice neighbors. Mimi wasn’t there, but her house sitter was super nice and had plenty of info about the area for dining and exploring. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Great location before our Hikes in Lassen National Park. Mimi and her dog greeted us late at night and made sure we knew where all the hookups were. We went on a morning walk around the barn and meadows, then went into town for breakfast.

Mimi was very understanding about the fact that our arrival time changed several times. She greeted us with kindness, and her driveway RV space is just right for a quick stop along a long drive. The view of the back of her property is gorgeous! We recommend Mimi's place, for sure.

We were blown away by both Mimis welcome and the position of her place the walks and views were way beyond expectations and such a pleasure having a truly dog friendly location, we loved every second and can't recommend it highly enough.

The location is fantastic and Mimi was a wonderful and interesting host having travelled the world, she took our girls to see nesting owls, they loved playing with her dog and she gave us route directions and fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning.

Mimi’s Hideaway
Mimi was an excellent host! Her spot is a perfect place for an RV, quiet level with full hookups. It’s also a short walk to town for restaurants and groceries. Mimi was very easy to communicate and work with. If we were ever in the area again we would definitely stay.
