Little Brave House, Soda Lake CA

The dwelling is cute, comfy and remote. I'm not a roughing-it type of person, but I adjusted to the toilet situation just fine. I have never had to pack-out my refuse/waste before. Had to drive it all to San Louis Obispo and put in the dumpster of a restaurant. A kind person left their unused propane behind, so we were able to use the camp stove to boil water for tea and oatmeal. Used the grill to make veggie burgers. The bed was comfortable. The roads were very rough getting there-huge potholes. We had a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, and we struggled, had to go very slow. Do not recommend driving in the dark. Communication about the property, how to get there, what to bring, etc. was spot on.

A great roof in Carrizo Plain

The Little Brave house was just what we needed after unexpected wind and rain. Beautiful wildflowers literally right outside the door. Morning rainbows to boot! Clean and comfortable. Helpful directions and responsive host. The little propane heater was a very welcome accoutrement indeed!

Howling coyotes & sunsets

Such an incredible stay! Truly such a beautiful plot of land. Loved listening to the distant coyotes and wildlife. It was so cozy and warm and hope to be back soon!!

This was a mostly fine stop on our way up to Oregon. It was grassy with trees on one side and flat, small picnic table, hammock and nice fire pit we’re provided. We added on the bundle of firewood and it was there when we arrived, 2 of the pieces were already partially burned so that was weird. There is a house across the road with a crazy bright floodlight pointed straight at this area so be choosy about where you set up your tent or vehicle. There were two tent sites and we couldn’t remember which one we booked so we texted the host and never got a response, of course we figured it out but I’m glad we didn’t actually need anything. The toilet provided was a gross port a potty and the shower was an empty sunshower hanging at your site. Like I said, it was fine for one night, but I prefer a clean bathroom for the price.

Convenient, Peaceful & Dry (covered

This is a wonderful place to camp in Crescent City. It is in a little neighborhood, but quiet and peaceful, with the beach and redwoods just a short bike ride away. We loved the covered site for our camper van. It was perfect to keep our stuff dry when the fog came in during the night. We loved seeing the chickens and visiting with the sweet pot belly pig.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Lovely outdoor shower, privacy fences around sites, host offers wifi. Picnic tables, fire pits, and portapotty all available. She even has cute hammocks and string lights hung up between the trees!

Quiet and beautiful space, enjoy!

A quiet idyllic site with many thoughtful touches. The wildflowers and trees and birds were beautiful and relaxing. Appreciate this safe and well set up property. We were in campsite 1 and after the first night hung up a tarp in front of our tents so the bright light didn't bother us. We had a fantastic visit.

We found this spot last-minute literally in Crescent City, with big trees, grass, flowers, and a great view of the sky at night. The high carport to park our rig under and the chairs around the fire pit grill let us settle in to relax right away. We were able to let the dogs run to get their energy out, and even ordered wood-fired pizza delivery from the local brewery! This was a great place to take a break on our journey before heading to the redwood forests.

Quiet rural site

Quiet & pretty area, not in town but in a rural neighborhood, a bit hard to locate (use Google, not Apple Maps), clean portapotty, hard- to-see site markers, fair privacy, interesting shower set-up that worked but could use a different kind of structure for campers to stand upon (it got muddy very quickly).

Easy in and out spot

The property was cute and easy going. Jennifer was an excellent host, she let us be and when we wanted firewood we just reached out and it was there. The place a fire pit picnic table and other nice glamping amenities. Only downside, was the a neighbor’s bright porch light shines from across the road and takes away from the camping vibe. Would recommend this spot.

Great location to explore the coast, So. Oregon, and redwoods. Return to peace and quite of a semi- rural neighborhood and a cozy campsite. We spent three nights on property, would have stayed longer, if it were possible. Enjoyed cooking on the fire pit grill, shade of the trees, table and benches, nearby toilet.

They have a couple RV sites, one with a canopy over the top. Reasonably spacious and in a nice yard. Some of the neighbors have dogs that bark when you go down the driveway, but all was very quiet at night. The site we were in had a 30 amp power outlet, which was a nice feature. They have some chickens in the yard, and we even got a visit from a very portly pig. We booked this very last minute, and the hosts responded very quickly and helpfully. Great place to spend the night, though perhaps a bit pricey.

Fine stop near the redwoods

It was a quiet little place in the middle of the carizzo plains. I felt safe there and the stars at night and the moon were beautiful. I got up in time to drink coffee and watch the sunrise.

We thought it was adorable to be greeted by a very friendly pig and we liked that the location was close to town and the highway. Overall we felt like it was quite pricey for what it was. We were hoping it would be a bit more private and quiet, but we found it hard to sleep with neighbourhood dogs barking well into the night.

Fantastic views to peaceful snooze

From the views to the quiet scenery, this is a true little oasis in the plains of the Soda Lake area. This quaint pink house that greets you in the middle of this quiet dirt road. You settle into your own little house in the prairie and get 360 views if mountains in the distance and at night, you experience the breathtaking night sky that lets you see the milky way. Do yourself a favor, give a weekend to get out of the city and enjoy the peace and silence that this Casita offers to those who are willing to try something new.

Phenomenal stay in an amazing place

Wow, what an absolutely phenomenal place to stay. From what appears to be a nice quaint spot to park your RV or to place up a tent on, you soon discover that you’re in one of the sweetest places in California. Jen and her family were truly both kind and welcoming. From the pure accommodating nature to enjoying freshly picked apples, this by far is one of the best places my husband and I have had the pleasure to enjoy on our honeymoon. This property is full of fantastic scenery and we will most definitely be coming back. Be kind to these lovely people because they truly go above and beyond.

Safe, serene and minimal camping spots! The bit of fog coming through the trees each morning really set a magical ambiance. Hosts were awesome! Contactless but responsive. Short drive to Redwoods and Beaches left our buckets full! Thanks again!
