Discover Lichenwood, hosted by Rob and Keith, as featured on season two episode eleven of tiny house hunting. The primary "glamping" site is The Taverna. To access the site, expect to walk down a slope approximately 40 yards with uneven, mulch-covered steps. The Taverna is a space approximately 12x12. Outside it looks like a shed. Inside you'll find a redwood bar with seating for four. The bar is elevated and a full-sized mattress pulls out from beneath the bar to reveal your sleeping space. Linens can be provided. Also available: The Palapa, an elevated platform with hammock chairs. You can place a tent here, or use an on-site teepee tent. You will need to bring bedding. The property itself features additional seating areas including a deck with hot tub.

This is camping at its most fabulous: a ½-acre oasis in the redwood forest of Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, with paths, chairs, hammocks, views, and plenty of places to chill. Guests have access to outdoor spaces including the deck, gas grill, hammocks, hot tub, outdoor shower, and palapa. The hot tub and outdoor shower are clothing optional and may be shared. There is one bathroom inside the small main house, shared with hosts Rob and Keith. Guests are welcome to use the bathroom, but we ask that trips inside be limited to bathroom use only. There is no outdoor kitchen or guest refrigerator, so please bring a cooler and a small tub for washing dishes at the hose. We can provide a cooler if helpful. The vibe is memorable, meaningful, and liberating: near the Sonoma Coast, the Russian River, and some of the best wineries in the world. Your hosts are two welcoming gay men, 40ish, who try to cultivate an atmosphere of freedom, relaxation, and connection with the forest. A few guidelines: - 18+ only. - Please shower before entering the hot tub, especially if wearing oils, sunscreen, or lotion. - Pee anywhere but in the hot tub. - This is an open and permissive environment, but please always be calm, kind, and respectful. - We get many return visitors and love when guests become friends. We also respect guests who prefer privacy and ask everyone to do the same. The palapa is an 18x18 covered space with curtains that open for views or close for privacy. It has two hammocks, beanbag chairs, and a wooden floor where you may pitch a tent. A teepee tent is also available. Bring bedding, air mattress or sleeping pads, and camping gear. No stakes, please. Check-in is between 3 PM and 6 PM. If that does not work, please message before booking so we can discuss alternate plans. Other things to note: only Verizon and Sprint have reliable cell signal here. Wi-Fi is available on the deck but not throughout the property. Rainy season is generally mid-October through mid-April, with the heaviest rains and coldest nights typically December through March. The owners have a French bulldog. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

“A most sublime space, location, feel, aroma.” — Tim, Oct. 2015 This is glamping at its most fabulous: a private ½-acre oasis in the redwood forest of Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, with paths, chairs, hammocks, forest views, and plenty of places to relax. Guests have access to the outdoor spaces, including the deck, seating area, gas grill, hot tub, outdoor shower, and Taverna. The hot tub and outdoor shower are clothing optional and shared with the hosts. The hot tub is always on. The vibe is memorable, meaningful, and liberating: near the Sonoma Coast, near the Russian River, and close to some of the best wineries in the world. Your hosts are two welcoming gay men, 40ish, who enjoy creating a space of freedom, relaxation, and connection with the forest. The Taverna is a 12x12 “secret hangout”: part bar, part lounge, part crash pad. What looks like a simple shed opens into a cozy redwood sanctuary. The tiny bar seats four and includes a very small dorm-style refrigerator with room for a few drinks. A memory foam double mattress pulls out from under the bar. This is not tent camping, but guests should bring their own linens, sleeping bags, and pillows. Linens available by request. There is one bathroom inside the main house, shared with hosts Rob and Keith. Guests are welcome to use the bathroom, but we ask that trips inside be limited to bathroom use only. There is no outdoor kitchen, though there is a hose for dishes. Please bring a small tub for washing up, and a cooler for food and drinks. You may also borrow our cooler if needed. A few guidelines: 18+ only. Please shower before entering the hot tub, especially if wearing oils, sunscreen, or lotion. Pee anywhere but in the hot tub. This is an open and permissive environment, but guests should always be calm, kind, and respectful. We get many return visitors and love when guests become friends. We also respect guests who prefer a private experience and ask everyone to do the same. Check-in is between 3 PM and 6 PM. If that timing does not work, please message before booking so we can discuss alternate plans. Other things to know: Only Verizon has cell signal here. Wi-Fi is available on the deck. The final ½ mile of road is paved but narrow. Owners have a french bulldog.
