Unbeatable view of the mountain on one side, beautiful city lights on the other! It was chilly and overcast during the last weekend of May, but tent camping next to the mountain offered such a majestic view. The geodesic dome added a unqiue hangout spot for us, especially for our 5 y.o. Despite arriving relatively late in the evening, Host Anna and her daughter took the extra time and effort to show my family the much anticipated dinosaur fossils just a short walk down from the campsite! Their knowledge/ passion for conservation is inspiring! We also had the neat experience of getting to hang out with the goats (including two baby ones) when the staff handler let them out to graze! As for amenities, while no toilet is provided and fires are not permitted, there are multiple electrical outlets and a water spigot (a short walk away from where we set up our tent near the geodesic structure) that provided much appreciated convenience (electrical hookups were stable enough to power multiple low-power appliances, such as a rice cooker, kettle, and stringed lights). There were not many trees so establishing shade might be needed during hotter weather. Overall, we appreciated both the peaceful privacy at the campsite and freedom to explore the property. We hope to be back soon!
