Our property is just minutes from Mendocino's beaches, parks and sweet town, yet private and quiet as it is surrounded by 50,000 acre state forest with world class hiking and biking trails directly accessed from our place. Around the giant redwoods and meadows we have sprinkled in the most amazing little cabins, camp sites and deluxe bath house. We have a great outdoor camp kitchen available for your use. The redwood tree shower must not be missed! This is a very special experience for us to share with you. We are a family of campers. We agree, there's nothing better than a rest in a hammock following a hike or a beach day and a night under the stars without the constant dinging of cell and internet! Guests love staying here: "Such a lovely getaway! Our family of four and little dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heartwood. The cabins are great, with comfortable (warm) beds, very clean and cozy. It’s well worth the visit even in the winter! Really appreciated being outdoors surrounded by Redwoods, hiking the trails around the property, the modern bathrooms with hot showers, and the indoor sitting area to make coffee in the mornings. Our stay was relaxing, memorable and special!" Please remember that we are in the woods and there is wildlife around. We don't want them to get into your food items, and recommend that you place food items in the enclosed common room or in the critter proof cupboards in the outdoor kitchen.

This site is flat and easily accessible with a beautiful hand made redwood picnic table and dappled sunlight. You have access to all of the Heartwood facilities including our luxurious bathrooms, the common room and the outdoor camp kitchen. The redwood tree shower is also available for your use. You don't want to miss it! This site is offset from the cabins, but has visibility to the larger grounds. This site can hold up to 4 people and one vehicle. (Additional vehicle if added on can park in the main parking area which is nearby). Please make sure to add your total headcount to your booking. Beautiful place. The room was nice. The bed was comfy. The bathrooms were well maintained. The place had an awesome view of the night sky. Defiantly will be planning a future stay there. Mendocino is like 10 minutes away and fort brag is about 20. There’s not even a real need to bring food so long as u wanna go buy food everyday.

Redwood Camp Site
The Redwood Campsite was truly magical! Surrounded by a beautiful forest and it had everything we needed. The redwood shower was an incredible experience. There were also 2 bathrooms, 2 indoor showers, and a sink for washing dishes, which were lovely and helpful as well. It felt so luxurious! This spot is about a 10 minute drive from downtown Mendocino, so it was nice to explore during the day with nearby hikes, beaches, and shops. We can’t wait to come back!

I got lucky and had the whole place to myself on a last minute mid week get away. They kept the firewood stocked to the brim and made my stay a cozy one in the fall nights. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous location!! The cabin was perfect, cute, clean, and comfortable. It was a little stormy out but heated blankets on the bed made it a great place to stay cozy while listening to the rain patter onto the roof. Don't miss the outdoor redwood shower!

We love Heartwood

The owners of Heartwood have created an amazingly beautiful, comfortable and accessible campground. Their love of the land, care, artistry and craftsmanship are evident in every detail. The tent cabins are cozy and a wonderful way to enjoy a camping experience with greater ease and comfort. The surrounding forest is enchanting. Taking an outdoor showers inside of an old redwood trunk was the highlight of our stay… a sublime experience! We plan to return, and are so glad we discovered Heartwood.

The hosts have taken great care to create a wonderful camp environment! The redwood tree shower was amazing, but their regular bathrooms were also impressively clean and nice. The outdoor kitchen was well-stocked with supplies and super cute and it was also nice to have options like an indoor refrigerator, toaster oven, electric kettle, and filtered water. The setting in the forest was so beautiful. It was a great place to car-camp!

Heartwood is truly a sanctuary. Away from public noise, the beautiful and calm nature vibe there is very restorative. Kamoor is a gem as well and adds a heartfelt personal touch to beauty already there. And its dog friendly, which is a bonus.

Oh wow!! That’s exactly what I said when I walked into the property! Heartwood met all my expectations and MORE! The pictures on social media do not do it justice! The cabin was sooo cozy and the heated blankets were a chefs kiss to my already delicious comfy bed. Don’t even let me get started about my magical shower in the giant hallowed out redwood tree! I swear there were fairies 🧚 peeking around every tree and in every corner….I will definitely be back again and again and again.

This is a lovely site: quiet, organized, spacious, well-laid out with very friendly owners. Cabin #1 was so comfortable and cozy, the outdoor kitchen is terrific with everything you might need, bathrooms spotless, outdoor shower hot and wonderful. LOVED IT!!!

Redwood Camp Site
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We booked for 3 days and had such a wonderful stay here that we decided to stay 2 more days! The property is surrounded by beautiful trees and nature, including a stunning redwood tree shower that really added to the healing and peaceful atmosphere. There are also large grassy areas that are perfect for a picnic or playing games, which made the whole space feel open and inviting. The amenities were amazing — the community kitchen was well stocked and convenient, and the common room with its skylight and large wooden table was perfect for dinners, board games, or just hanging out. The bathrooms were honestly some of the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campground, which made the stay even more comfortable. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I also loved how safe and peaceful the grounds felt — I couldn’t hear any city noise at all, yet it was still only about 5–10 miles from the beach and main highway, making day trips super easy. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with thoughtful amenities and truly outstanding hospitality!

This place was so beautiful. We really enjoyed our 3 days and 2 nights stay at Heartwood Mendocino. Got the chance to meet the most amazing host, Khamoor. Would definitely recommend this and most likely will come back! ♥️

Beautiful Mendocino experience

Heartwood Mendocino was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a glamping experience when visiting the area. We stayed in cabin 2 and its basically a room with a bed and 2 night stands with some hangers and trashcan, but the heated mattress was amazing even as the temperature dropped. If you think of it as camping, then it is very luxurious! If you think its a hotel, its obviously not, but thats not why you book here. The amenities like the shared camp kitchen, flush toilet bathrooms, common room, shower, and chill grassy area were great and clean. If you wanted to stay in the camp area, it pretty much has everything you need (besides food). The redwood shower was a nice touch and very pretty. Very dog friendly, with a big open grass area. Getting there was easy w/ GPS and directions even in the dark. Don't go Caspar Little Lake Rd as some of it is unpaved.. not worth it. Follow the hosts instructions. The host, Khamoor, was super responsive and helpful when I had questions.

Great stay at Heartwood, this is our favorite hip camp spot. Clean warm showers , one is an open air surprise! flush toilets, cooking area with dish sink , awesome fire pit with wood! Very dog friendly. Campsites are flat and clean, no poison oak, close to town, In the Mendocino Woodlands, Trails, MTB and gravel rides from location, warmer and above fog line, hosts are very polite and friendly. Quiet at night ,friendly vibes with fellow guests. Mendocino is a great town to explore.

Beautiful place, especially the redwood tree shore. The amenities make it worth it. We booked a campsite and will definitely try the cabins next time.
