Grey Oaks' Rustic Campsites, are a boutique camping experience with real old-timey style. We have 2 RV/tent campsites and currently 2 tent-only sites for hipcamp use. Grey Oaks is located on 20 acres of land, with multiple interesting and cool landscape features, hot water shower, and animals up by the house (1/4 mile from the campsites) that you can interact with during your stay here. ( 2 pasture horses, 1 Donkey, 2 friendly dogs, and 1 awesome cat). At the campsites, we have picnic tables, fire pits, bbqs, ice chests on request, and more. A clean and fresh well water hand/dishwashing station and two outhouses are conveniently located to the campsites. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds. There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing. We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you. Eucalyptus, oak, and/or pine firewood is provided free for you during your stay with us. It really is a beautiful and wonderful property. There is wildlife, and it is private and peaceful. It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We will show you what it looks like, so you can easily avoid it.

Another guest favorite, this site sits right above sites 1 and 2 and the common area. One guest mentioned that its like being the king up there. A very spacious site. It does have poison oak near it, but again, it is fully avoidable. Comes with all the amenities named in our lengthy listing.

Our most secluded, and a guest favorite, Park and Hike Tent-only site 4. Has an 8 ft wide cleared path to the site, slightly uphill, 2 minute walk from the common area. There is poison oak on the property and near the campsites, but the sites are large and it is fully avoidable. Site 4 includes all the amenities described in our main listing. You get some great sunsets from this site.

Site 1, like all our others, is private and spacious. It has a nice nook behind the fire pit area under the trees. This site is the only one with the large propane grill. It is to the left of the common area and of site 2. You can tent camp or park your RV up to 24 ft. There is poison oak on the property. While it has been removed from the actual campsites, we recommend that you wear shoes that cover your feet to protect them.

Site 2 is our largest site. It has our unadvertised Site 5 next to it, so it is good for larger families (when booking site 5, also). This site can be parked at by an up to 24 ft RV and has 3 designated tent spots. It is close to the common area with the Outhouses and washing station, but the sites and areas are large and its not right up against them. There is poison oak on the property and around this campsite in some areas. It is one of the sites that has been cleared the most, but there is still some around, so please be aware. This site comes with all the amenities named in our very lengthy listing.

This campsite is combined with Site 2 for a larger tent camping family together, or family that has more than 1 Rv that wants to camp together. Includes everything as with Site 2. Do not request this Site 5 unless you have also requested Site 2. These are great family campsites for relaxing in nature. Private, peaceful and spacious. Established fire-pit with free firewood delivered to your campsite, hammock, tiki torches with lamp/citronella oil, picnic table, and the “everything you forgot box”. Hot water shower, eco-friendly water station and sink, 3 composting-style outhouses. North Monterey County, Central Coast, Aromas. Property has native poison oak (campsites are clear) and it’s outside in the country, so there is dirt and dust. These are out on the land with no utilities, but there is water provided. Soaps, bug spray, calamine lotion in the common area for your use. Not backyard camping. It’s fun for those those that like to have the full out on the land camping experience, but close to all the area attractions and shopping. Gentle to moderate slope property. Tent, RV, fire-pit, and picnic tables are level. Nightly rate for this site is only $60 for 2 people since it is shared and reserved with Site 2. Due to Hipcamp only allowing one booking rate per property, please contact me before making a booking request, so I can provide you with a discount code to correct the rate. Thanks!

Great spot, helpful hosts, but be aware of time of year when you go or check with host about overwhelming amount of caterpillars. Was there September 27th and had caterpillars on all the surfaces when arriving there. Couldn't use the table and had many of them land on our tent and try to cocoon. If creepy crawlies are not your thing id check with host. Luckily we had an awning so wasn't too worried about them landing on us while hanging out. Made for a hard clean up with all the locals critters. Spot wasn't as private as we had thought, other sites were about 40ish feet away. So similar to a state park set up. You'll see people around you and hear them but not shoulder to shoulder. Rest of the experience was nice, outhouse close by site 1, fire wood provided, friendly staff/host, and nice surroundings.

Our camp hosts were so kind and welcoming. They even helped to haul our stuff up to site 4, which is a huge site, very private, and has a beautiful view through the trees. Zak left us a shovel if we wanted to hack away any poison oak which and we managed to avoid it all. The free firewood was a plus as our small car was packed! The bathrooms do kinda feel like they’re in the middle of other people’s campsites which felt a little awkward to navigate at night, but there is a more private one at the top of the hill which is a good option. We were only a short drive to the ocean too so the location was great. Thanks for hosting us!

I brought my family here this past weekend (8/22-8/24) and it was incredible. Zak (and his son) were such good hosts. The site had everything that we needed and even more so. This was the perfect experience for my kids who were getting used to camping but it would be a great experience for any level of camper. We plan on coming back again. Thank you Zak and family for making it such a memorable experience and one that my young ones want to do again!

Stayed for one night and it was quite pleasant. Hosts were welcoming and overall no complaints! Site 3 does seem to be the best as it is farthest from the road but there was barely any cars so not that big of a deal.

Zak and his wife were both very accommodating and very kind. Their properties absolutely beautiful and you wouldn’t honestly even know that you weren’t in the middle of nowhere. It’s close enough to where you could get somewhere when you need to, but you could also just get lost in the sound of nature as well. I absolutely love that It’s more of a compost and natural type of campsite, it just makes you notice how much stuff we really don’t need. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Excellent camping spot. We had the whole place ourselves. Camped for two nights with my three boys ages 5,7 and 9. Zak kept us stocked on firewood and plenty of extra items provided in case you forget something. Bathrooms are nice and clean.

We had an amazing stay on Zak's property. He was very welcoming and helpful and the campsite was so peaceful and beautiful. It is apparent that they care for their guests as they provide a lot of little things to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Definitely planning to visit again!

Zach and team are very kind! I'd absolutely recommend this site to anyone. Very quiet. And if you book the site that I had (site 4), it comes with a great view. Don't forget to bring extra blankets. It can be kinda chilly. Our hosts also saved us a couple times with their bin of "commonly forgotten items" that you can borrow. We forgot coffee cups. Without their help, we wouldve been drinking from a paper bowl. Great experience! I'd be happy to camp here again sometime! The shower was also very clean and they provided us with plenty of firewood for 2 nights.

I really liked the experience camping at Zak’s campsite. It was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities as described. The popcorn pot and popcorn were a fun touch. The location is conveniently located to a gas station but also very cozily tucked away such that you feel like you’re in wilderness similar to being in a state or national park. I would recommend.

My partner and I had a great time here. While there was poison oak as described, it didn’t pose any type of issue for us. The site was private and beautiful and Zak was a fantastic and helpful host. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a nice campsite that feels secluded (even thought it's less than 30 seconds off the Aromas rd.) The site has almost everything you need for bbq and cooking and it is still nice and quiet. Zak and family is very courteous, was there on time to pick us up and showed everything. Would come again. Watch out the for the poison oaks if you have little kids who like to run around into the woods.

We loved our stay!! Very well equipped, bathrooms were great, and we ended up needing almost everything in the “everything you forgot” box. Host was very kind and easy to talk to, you just check in with him and then it feels like home! Definitely coming back, definitely recommend it.

We had a great stay! Our campsite was spacious enough for two tents for our family of five—with room to spare. It’s conveniently located near the restrooms and sink area, but still far enough away to feel private and peaceful. Zak was amazing—super attentive and on top of everything. Our kids especially loved visiting the horses and feeding the fish and turtle. We would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

Zak was a wonderful host. He generously offered to drive our bags to the site and back. The campsite was beautiful. Our favorite part was the campfire area, which was equipped with firestarters, wood, a popcorn maker, and fire color changers. 10/10 would recommend

We had a great time at the campsite, it’s a pretty neat spot with lots of space (we had a big tent) and a good shade. Zak is an amazing host, and he went above and beyond to help us with some challenges we faced. I would totally recommend this spot!

Really pretty sites. We had it to our selves. It felt pretty secluded but you could hear cars going by on the road. It wasn't too distracting though. They had just about everything we needed. There's a lot of mention about poison oak. Super easy to avoid unless you have kids that are at an age that wander. The numbered sites are almost level. I could have used some leveling blocks as we were staying in our van. I was able to scavenge up a couple pieces of 2x that pretty much got me there. The lettered sites were a bit more of camber. Hosts were very polite.

Great experience! Nice and quiet site with a firering, firewood, usable outhouse facilities and place to wash up. Zak met us and showed us around, had the place to ourselves. Green and spacious site with clear directions. Would stay again next time in the area!

We really enjoyed our night at Grey Oaks! We were the only campers around, so it was quiet, peaceful, and a great way to relax outdoors. The firewood provided was a huge plus and convenience, and we'd love to return! :)

Great host, great spot! Loved the box of “everything you forgot” like a kettle, plates and forks, etc. Lots of extra firewood, we were able to keep our camp fire going all night.
